Chapter 1Nan Hua

In the quiet night, several nurses were working overtime. There were a lot of new patients and in this large hospital, everyone was working efficiently.

Among them, there was a separate VIP room with a few bodyguards protecting the door along with surveillances cameras from all sides.

There was a girl in her teenage age lying on the bed.

Her breathing was steady and showed no sign of waking up, not even in the countless monitor from various devices all over her body.

However, it was not the truth.

"How long are you going to stand there?" the girl spoke out, her tone laced with indifference. She opened her eyes and looked to the side, her black obsidian pupil reflected the mystery within.

Not far beside the window, a youth stood there, wrapped in black clothing. He looked at the girl on the bed and chuckled. "You've defied death again, Hua."

The girl, Hua, showed no change in her expression. There was only indifference and calmness. "State your codename and purpose."

The youth arched his eyebrows, smiling devilishly. "Or what?"

Swish!

There was a crack on the wall beside him, blood seeped out of his cheek. The youth's cheeky expression froze as he realized that the girl in front of him could have killed him in that very moment.

He took a deep breath and said, "Section 10, codename Hao. I'm here to tell you of your next mission."

"Next mission?" Hua's tone didn't fluctuate. "The last mission was for me to infiltrate the research institute by surrendering and let them do whatever they wanted. If not for the avalanche, I wouldn't be here at all."

Before she was here, Hua was placed in a secret research institute. As an assassin who had made her name thorough the Green Planet, there were not many people who dared to get close to her. When she was 'captured,' many people were interested to study her.

Unfortunately, an avalanche destroyed her mission as it completely annihilated the entire research institute. The last memory she had was when she was buried alive and somehow dug out before brought out here.

She wouldn't be able to do her mission.

And those who failed their mission would only be granted death as it was the rules that everyone knew.

So, Hua was calm and indifferent.

"That mission is abandoned."

"Abandoned?" Nan Hua asked, but there was not even any trace of curiosity in her tone. It was as if she didn't care about anything in the entire world.

The youth nodded. "The mission objective changed. You're given a new big task. This is also the last mission for you." The youth tossed a case that he brought with him to the bed. He didn't dare to get close to this girl in front of him.

Even if she was only in her teenage age and looked no different from other boys and girls around her age, he knew very well what her codename presented. No one in their world didn't fear her name.

Hua took the case and opened it. It contained a tube of liquid along with a tablet. She clicked the tablet open, entered the code, and information flashed on the screen, allowing her to know what the next mission was.

'Become Nan Hua, the young miss of Nan Family who had been missing for years and only recently found last year.'

Nan Hua.

Hua was not unfamiliar with this name. Just last year, there was the pieces of news stating that the long missing daughter of Nan Family was found.

But she knew one thing:

That girl is a fake the organization sent in order to infiltrate the Nan Family.

Nan Family is a powerful military family in Green Planet. They had a lot of resources and manpower behind them, which had hindered the organization's movement many times along with several other military families. If one had to say, they were among the kill list in the organization.

"Hao, anything else?"

"I was told to give you any information you need." Hao looked at Hua in front of him. "The tube contains the fake Nan Hua's memory of the past year. As you know, it's incomplete and only contained part of it. The fake Nan Hua is in this hospital on the seventh floor, in a coma and will never wake up again."

In other words: it was a failed mission.

When they failed their missions and their body was found by the organization, the first thing they did was to extract their brain to obtain their memory. This method was imperfect and will cause them to be brain dead after it was done, but if they were still alive, those outside would never be able to find out the differences.

Hua tucked the tube away and looked at Hao calmly. "DNA, fingerprints, iris recognition, facial shape, body structure."

"She's very similar to you and they only tell me one thing: everything of her had been based on the real one, which you know and could handle it."

Hua's expression didn't change in the slightest bit and played with the broken tablet. Once the information has been shown once, the tablet wouldn't be able to work again forever as its entire hardware has been destroyed. This was the precaution system in the organization to prevent betrayers and data leak. "How confident is the organization on me?"

"You're the best in your section." Hao was leaning on the window, ready to escape at any time. "Time is running out. What's your decision, Hua?"

The outcome of failed missions was only death or doing other missions to 'redeem' themselves.

Hua knew that if she didn't accept this mission today, the organization will kill her and no matter how skilled she is, they could do it easily. Everyone in the organization was fully controlled and had to follow their order.

The corner of Hua's lips curled up to form a sneer. "Section 13, codename Hua, accepted the mission."

Not a long distance away, in the same hospital, there were other important patients in the VIP section of different floor.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

"What the hell did you do?" A youth looked at the young man on the bed, who pulled the IV drip away. "Come on, you were nearly crushed to death when that building exploded."

The young man was tall and had handsome appearance. There were scratches and bandages everywhere, which showed how dangerous his situation before was. However, his expression as indifferent as he looked at the youth who was dressed in military uniform and arched his eyebrows. "It's more important to find out who want my life."

"As the young master of Long Family, do you know how many people want your life, Long Qian Xing?" The youth shook his head. "The number could line up to circle entire Green Planet."

Long Qian Xing glanced at the youth. "Any casualties?"

"Strangely no. Everyone gathered to watch your duel with that b*stard, but it ended with the entire floor destroyed before it's time. You're lucky to survive when you're very close to the epicenter." The youth picked up the tablet at the side and showed it to Long Qian Xing.

Long Qian Xing grabbed his uniform and looked at the tablet, skimming the information there calmly. "Go back to the academy. I'll…."

RING! RING! RING!

"The fire alarm?" The youth looked dazed.

Long Qian Xing frowned. "Get out of here now."

Apocalypse Days: I Rule with Foresight and a Powerful Son

You’d think seeing the future would give me a head start on surviving the apocalypse. I had it all planned—until everything I knew shattered when my husband sacrificed himself to save me and our son. Now it’s just me, my three-year-old son Leo, and my cursed gift of foresight that only seems to kick in when it’s nearly too late. I’m doing my best to keep us safe, to find food, to make some kind of plan— “Mommy?” I glance down, trying to ignore the tug on my pant leg as I focus on our supplies. “Not now, Leo. Mommy’s thinking.” “Mommy!” I sigh and finally look down. My three-year-old is standing there, clutching… I blink. “Leo, where did you get a knife?” He shrugs, grinning like it’s the most natural thing in the world. My heart stutters. “No, really. Where did you find that?” I try not to laugh. I mean, he’s three. Maybe he just—found it somewhere? But the next day, it’s a water bottle. Then, a tiny flashlight, somehow with batteries still inside. I don’t even know what else; he’s pulling things out one by one with the pleased grin of a kid who’s just figured out his favorite game. Well, we may just survive this mess after all. Now, if only the universe could have spared me from him. I don’t even know his name, but I know his type: tall, broad, and annoyingly handsome, with an air of calm control that’s out of place in this chaos. Ex-military, if I had to guess, with a voice that’s just as infuriating as his smirk. The man has a habit of showing up at the worst—or best—possible times, with a gun at the ready and secrets buried as deep as those bright green eyes. I mean, he’s probably useful, but I’m trying to keep my eyes on the prize here: survival. For Leo and me. Because, foresight or no foresight, nothing is guaranteed in this new world—except the fact that people like him are trouble.
