Out of desperation, they agree, and later on, Lance becomes an unsuspecting leader of a goblin tribe as a human. Now, surrounded by unsuspecting goblin beauties, Lance vows to life a fulfilling life in this new world while leading his people to prosperity! ... A/N: Hey, dear reader... read the book, you'll love it. There will be lemons as always, just not with the same intensity and frequency as my last book. I plan to focus more on the story and relationships than flavour scenes at every turn. Though the main character is not a villain type, he isn't a goodie two shoes either. No Rape. No NTR. No Yuri. No Netori. I plan to write something where the MC's harem aren't just brainless meat sacks, but actually impact the story and the MC. Read the book, you'll love it! Chapter 1The End and A New Beginning

Lance's eyes burned as he stared at the sterile white ceiling of his hospital room, the beeping monitors punctuating the silence, a sound he was all too familiar with, something he was unsure was keeping him from insanity or driving him to it. Lance was only twenty-three, yet his body felt like it belonged to a man five times his age.

He used to be quite a healthy youth carrying on with life just like every normal boy his age would. All that changed after he finished university and went home to visit his parents' tombstones. From a sudden collapse, his life became grim, as fate mocked him straight to his face.

The doctors had called it a "rare terminal illness," a name as vague and unhelpful as their prognosis. For months, Lance had lain in this bed, the world outside slipping further away with every passing day.

The weight of his condition crushed him completely from the onset. He experienced not just physical agony but the hollow sense of loss deeply rooted itself in his very soul, it felt like. His dreams of adventure, love, and purpose had evaporated, leaving behind a shell of a man waiting for the inevitable. His condition couldn't be treated after all, the only hope being that the doctors were working on finding a way to extend his life through management therapy, though, there had been no positive news so far.

He had no close family, no one to sit by his bedside and hold his hand. His parents had died in an accident years ago, and friends, while well-meaning, had their own lives to attend to. Lance had resigned himself to his lonely fate.

As the light in his vision began to dim, he couldn't help but wonder if he would even be remembered.

The last thought that flickered through his mind was simple and desperate, 'If I get another chance… I want to live.'

The world became a soothing pitch black as Lance felt himself going into a comforting embrace of the darkness. He felt a sense of peace for a moment… well, that didn't last long either.

A burst of sensation jolted Lance awake. He gasped, his body aching as he jolted to his feet, his hands grasping at coarse dirt beneath him. His eyes darted around, taking in the scene of chaos and bloodshed that surrounded him, the air filled with screams and wailing. Gone were the sterile walls and quiet beeping of the hospital.

More than anything, Lance was confused and unsure of what kind of situation he was in. If it was a dream, he surely hadn't experienced anything this real, and why would he even dream about such vile scenes in the first place?

After looking around a bit and observing his surroundings, he came to the understanding that he was in some sort of camp. The design of it all and the aesthetics appeared primitive, chaotic, and as if that wasn't enough, he noticed the corpses littered around were all strange, humanoid figures. Their green skin and sharp features marked them as something eerily striking to a goblin.

"What the hell…" Lance muttered, only to choke on his words as a scream pierced the air.

As he looked over to see what was happening, Lance saw a green-skinned goblin, her face twisted in fear and determination as she lunged at a towering male goblin wielding a crude stone axe. She was no taller than his chin but fought with unrelenting ferocity. The male goblin batted her aside like a rag doll, his cruel laughter almost muffled amidst the other screams.

The goblin camp, as it would seem, was in shambles. Some of the crudely constructed tents and barricades were ablaze, casting a flickering orange glow against the darkened sky. Female goblins, smaller and more agile, darted around the camp, wielding spears and knives, desperately trying to repel their attackers. The larger, brutish male goblins that were armed with clubs and axes fought with ruthless aggression.

Lance stumbled backward, his heart racing. His head throbbed as fragmented memories of his past life and the reality before him clashed. 'Where am I? How am I here?'

His sense of self seemed to have left and returned to him in the fraction of a second as he witnessed the onslaught before his eyes. No matter how hard he tried to return to reality however, nothing worked. No matter how much he questioned, the answer never came.

One of the female goblins, her long black hair tied into a messy braid, threw a spear with startling precision, piercing the throat of a male goblin. The attacker fell to his knees, clutching at the weapon as blood spurted from the wound. The woman's triumph was short-lived, however, as another male goblin charged her from behind, swinging a jagged club.

Lance barely had time to react. Instinctively, he grabbed a loose branch near his feet and hurled it at the attacker. The branch smacked the goblin across the face, halting his swing and giving the woman enough time to whirl around and stab him with her dagger.

She looked at Lance, her sharp yellow eyes narrowing in confusion and suspicion, but she said nothing before turning back to the battle.

'What did I just do? I need to leave this place, if not, I will end up like these dead bodies on the ground.' He thought to himself.

The chaos continued. The air was thick with the smell of blood and burning wood. Screams of pain and rage mingled with the sounds of metal clashing against bone. Lance felt helpless, out of his depth.

Though he tried to escape, every direction seemed to have these green skinned creatures scattered around.

Despite their tenacity, the female goblins were clearly outmatched. Their smaller stature and weaker weapons made it difficult to hold their ground. For all Lance had observed, only one or two of the female goblins really made a difference, the rest were only as good as cannon fodder. For every male goblin they managed to kill, two more seemed to take their place.

Lance's gaze swept over the battlefield, and he couldn't help but feel the helplessness the female goblins must have felt. He had no idea who was in the right and who was not, but as every human had the tendency to root for the underdogs, Lance had unknowingly taken the side of the weaker side. These women fought with everything they had, yet it was clear this was not a fair fight. The attackers' superior strength and numbers were overwhelming.

A young goblin girl, barely more than a child in Lance's perspective, cried out as she was dragged toward a male goblin with a wicked grin plastered on his face. Something inside Lance snapped. Without thinking, he lunged forward, grabbing a broken spear from the ground. His muscles burned as he sprinted, but adrenaline drowned out the pain.

With a desperate shout, Lance swung the spear at the male goblin, striking him in the side of the head. The goblin howled, releasing the girl and turning toward Lance with murder in his eyes. Lance tightened his grip on the spear, his breath ragged as he prepared for the inevitable retaliation. Even he himself couldn't believe what he was doing at the moment, or where he even found the courage.

Before the goblin could strike, the same female goblin from earlier leaped onto his back, plunging her dagger into his neck. He collapsed with a gurgled scream, his blood pooling beneath him.

"Who… who are you?" the female goblin asked, her voice harsh but laced with curiosity.

"I… I don't know," Lance replied, his voice trembling. He wasn't lying. He truly had no idea who or what he was anymore, or what was going on.

A look of confusion surfaced on the goblin's face, but she didn't linger for long.

The battle raged on around Lance as he found a place to hide himself for the time being.

A short while later, the attackers began to finally lose momentum. The female goblins, fueled by desperation, managed to push the remaining males back, forcing them to retreat into the forest.

The camp fell silent save for the crackling of flames and the soft cries of the wounded. Lance, watching from behind a bush around the centre of the camp, dropped the broken spear he had picked up, his legs giving out beneath him as he fell backwards to his butt. He stared at his bloodstained hands, his chest heaving as he tried to process everything.

This wasn't a dream. This wasn't some hallucination brought on by medication either.

This was too real, way too real.

Disclaimer: I'd received a few complaints from some readers that my MC is not a real villain, and I have to agree; if you're looking for some complete psycho MC who burns random farmer villages down just for fun then don't read. The MC is a ruthless man who does evil things from time to time, but only to his enemies or those he considers to be true scum. He gains no joy from tormenting strangers. Also don't read if you want a story about buying s*x slaves and r*ping them, that doesn't happen in this novel. He will treat the women he wants to be with as if they were normal people, whether they're slaves or not.

I did find interesting and plan to continue reading. Overall it's okay, it's a light read, lack some depth. At moment it has some problems, the story lacks good build-ups/development, seens too smooth sailing at moment, the MC has some dificulties at start, but it's resolved very soon and basically on their own, the MC seens very naive, the girls also. I think it lacks more conflict, more factions within the goblin tribe and more malice towards the MC in general, I would say that definetely needs to expand on the goblin culture, like how they live, what they believe, what events/celebrations they do and how they are, what they admire or dislike, even the goals of the female tribe, questions like they kidnap men the same way the male goblins do with females? At moment it's too superficial explained. spoiler* I think the decision to make the MC the chief of the tribe was very bad, it was too rushed in my opinion, it lacked a proper buil-up for that. The tribe was too accepting of this, it lacked more conflict here and the factions that I mentioned earlier. Also it was less believable, why a stranger with different race, culture, faith or lack off it, and with a suspicious background be choosen to lead the tribe... I think it could happen, with time and overcoming opposition, but not like written here. They want his knowledged, but they could obtain it with other ways or with more malicious means, so why would they surrender their power and authority? It would make more sense if he started as an advisor for the goblin chief/queen or maybe he could be accepted as chief with the basis in some god or something, like the MC being their apostole or envoy... It would make more beliavable spoiler* On character development of the girls, at moment Mira, Zarra and the balcksmith are okay, Rynne is also okay. I don't like Lia, she seens to become too close to the MC right of the bat, even like they already know each other, all they girls sort have this inexplicable closeness, but on Lia it's worst, and she seens very bland now, even more because she was the previous chief. I think it needs more development on how the MC and the girls evolve their relationship. Some thoughts on the future development of the story: concerned on how the MC will make his goblin kingdom, it will have more conflict and opposition or they will just accept it like him being the chief of the tribe? The MC seens to already be thinking on have contact or conflict with other races like beastfolk or humans, but it's seens crazy because he is on pile of sand now, very weak position to be. How they will survive the humans, more inteligent and malicious than their current enemies? How the MC will deal with betrayals and the polictics of his goblin/monster kingdom? Remembering he doesn't have no legitimacy, just a human crowing over monsters. I wish he could develop more before future conflicts. I will keep reading like I said, cheering for the story. OBS: English is not my primary language, so sorry if the review is poorly written.

Having read up to chapter 54, I shall bestow my thoughts to anyone willing to lend an ear. The story up to this point has been oddly descriptive, yet I cannot belittle it by calling the pacing slow. While the beginning was a bit rough, mostly because of the abrupt change in environment and the little resistance offered by the goblins in regards to accepting the protagonist into their village and later on promoting him, this does pave the way for a quick start, only needing a few chapters to delve into the story. The characters are a bit too quick to foster relationships, quite contradictory to the image of goblins the world has painted as shown by the depictions of the other races. Alas, one can excuse such oddities with the sheer drive for survival and the ability to cling onto any ropes thrown, be they golden fingers or humans from other worlds. What I do enjoy is the visible, but subtle racism towards goblins. As they are still a part of the 'intelligent' races, they are not viewed as mere beasts, but seen as lesser still. The protagonist has been quite reserved in opposition to my initial guesses. I am glad to see his abilities prove useful much more realistically than expected, using knowledge the likes of which everyone that is using this application ought to know. This has a powerful way of giving a hint of hope to the reader, as if signaling "You could do it too." It is refreshing to hear about a protagonist who is not as handsome as a devil or as well packed as an adult actor, excuse my unsightly comparison. As for where I would wish to see improvements, it boils down to two quite essential topics in my opinion. First, I would bring out the lax tensions between races. As previously mentioned, other races see goblins as, although intelligent, lesser beings. The story has already shown many instances of hostility, yet no foreign party has made a move. One could mention the mercenaries at the beginning, or even the catalyst of the whole reason the protagonist was accepted into the tribe, but I see these as mere forced actions to build trust between the tribe and the protagonist. One of the last chapters I read had an encounter, which while orchestrated by a being of clear authority from the shadows bringing light to something possibly supernatural taking place, that could, and in my humble opinion should, have ended with a much more devastating blow to our protagonist and his subordinates. In the future, I wish to witness more bold and brusque relations to bring forth the necessity for the 'sanctuary' while also reminding the reader and protagonist alike of the cruelty of the mortal world. The other development I am looking forward to, is the deepening of relations between the protagonist and his close retainers. The slow approach fits this novel well, don't get me wrong, however, the suggestive cover and description do raise expectations for many, myself included. I merely wish for the author to think about, as the story progresses, maximizing and normalizing intimacy between the aforementioned parties. I have sadly seen many stories where the initial relationship between love interests and the protagonist is in high spirits, whether intentionally or not, but begins to die down, rather than grow and evolve. While one could bring out the resemblance to most relationships in our world, I implore one to notice the fact that the sole reason we are reading such stories is to escape our reality, letting our minds wander between the dreams of a better future. All in all, for now, the story is solid. As the story is still quite in its infancy, my review is more like a suggestive analysis, which is meant to relay my feelings about it to the unsuspecting reader, wondering if it is worth their time. While my rating may seem harsh, I believe it to be reasonable due to the simple reason that no story is perfect. I am willing to state, however, that the potential of this story is immense and wish for the author to make it as long as possible. Even if the saying, better to die as a hero, than live to see yourself become a villain holds true, more so with stories, having bore witness to the skill of the author, I do not see the downfall of this tale appearing anytime soon. Happy reading!
