Smack!

Myrene felt someone smack her butt. And she couldn't help but scream. But instead of a scream what came out was a cry of a baby.

"Uwahh!"

'The cries of a baby. What is this?'

Myrene opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was her small hands.

'Does it mean I get reincarnated now? Then it means... that baby cry belongs to me.'

"My daughter, I want to see my daughter." A meek but gentle voice of a woman resounded.

Myrene suddenly saw a woman wearing some sort of maid outfit. She had a white headdress on her head. And she scooped Myrene out.

"Whoah!" Myrene tried to struggle but she could only hear more baby cries.

Someone took her from the maid. When she attempted to protest, she found herself entranced by the beauty in front of her instead. Eyes that were gentle blue like the clear sunny skies were staring at Myrene with a loving gaze. And her hair glistened like threads of silvery moonlight.

"My daughter," the beautiful woman gently called out to her.

That's when Myrene realized something. When she discovered a mole under the beautiful lady's left eye. Even in this world, she never believed she'd see that one trait again.

'Mom?'

Although her eyes and colors changed. Myrene couldn't be mistaken. She was her mom in her past life.

Myrene's heart was both filled with great joy and happiness.

'This is the world where mom reincarnates.'

She couldn't stop herself from crying anymore. "Mom! I miss you so much!" Emotions that had built up over her previous life were now dropping continually and fast like torrents.

"Why did you have to die early and leave me all alone! Mom!"

Although Myrene kept saying out her emotions, all that came out was the sound of a baby crying.

The reincarnation of her mom inched her, closer to her face. In a gentle and careful manner, she planted a kiss on her forehead.

Myrene was taken aback by this. In a trance, she stared with her mother. And the kiss she got caused a tingling sensation on her forehead.

"My daughter, Mama is here by your side now." The lady said with gentleness. "Please don't cry now."

Those few words. Just those words. It was enough to put a halt to Myrene's emotional outburst. It was exactly what she had been hoping to hear for a long time. All of her misery, suffering, and loneliness from her previous life. It seemed as if everything was swept away by her mother's soothing and kind words, which she longed to see.

"Mom," A tingling sensation of warmth filled Myrene's heart. "Yes, I will not cry now."

Her mother began to cuddle her. Myrene soon heard her mother singing a quiet and pleasant lullaby.

"The lands blessed us with their crops.

The water blessed us with life."

It was a strange song but somewhat it made Myrene calm.

"The winds blessed us to be calm.

The fire blessed us with their warmth.

The light blessed us with hope.

While the dark blessed us with its solace."

Slowly as her mother kept singing her lullaby, Myrene's eyes became heavier as her mother kept singing.

Madame Rebecca Windsfield graced a smile on her lips when she saw that her daughter was now peacefully sleeping in her embrace.

"Mother!" The door suddenly opened wide, revealing a three years old young boy with the same silver hair as Rebecca but his eyes were the color sparkling red rubies.

"Young master, Shh!" The head maid, Frayah, put her index finger in her mouth to silence the boy. Then she gestured to the sleeping baby.

"Oops!" The young boy giggled as he put his hands on his mouth.

"Do you want to see your sister?"

The young boy nodded his head. "Yes, mother, can I?" He looked at his mother unsure as he fiddled his fingers.

"Of course," Madame Rebecca said with a smile. "Come," she extended her left hand which was not holding the sleeping Myrene.

The young boy hurriedly but quietly made his way to the mother and daughter pair. Excitement glittered to his eyes.

When the young boy saw the baby in his mother's embrace, he couldn't help but be amazed.

"She's so small," he said in wonder.

"Yes." Madame Rebecca said. "Do you want to touch her?"

The young boy nodded his head.

"Give me your hand."

He reached his right hand to her mother. Then gently and carefully, Madame Rebecca put his hand to Myrene's small hands.

Myrene who was sleeping felt something warmth touching her right hand. And her body instinctively clutched into it.

The young boy was surprised at how those tiny fingers wrapped in his hand. He stiffened and didn't know what to do.

Madame Rebecca smiled seeing the reaction of her son. "Son,"

"Yes-yes mother,"

"You're a big brother now, so you must protect your little sister."

A surge of pride and duty built inside the young boy's heart. "Yes, mother, I will protect little sis!"

A smile escaped Madame Rebecca's lips once again. She gently held her son's head and inches together with her in an embrace. She was careful as well so that her daughter would not feel uncomfortable.

She hugged both her children 'I'm so blessed to have these children with me. They are my pride and joy that I promised to protect with my life.'

Under the bask of the sunlight protruding at the huge windows on their left side. The new family of Myrene enveloped each other in a warm embrace. Their image together now, if it would be painted, would surely create a beautiful painting of a warm and happy family together.

Two years later...

"Hahaha, brother you're so slow!!!"

"If I catch you, you will be punished with my tickling attack!"

"You'll never catch me, brother! Hahaha!"

Hearing the adorable and lively shouts and peals of laughter of two youngsters had become a natural occurrence in the Witch of the Wind's household.
