Chapter 26: Run

In response, Max simply nodded back

"I'm afraid so Jake" Max put his hand on Jake's shoulder "He's not normal Jake, I know you look up to him, but, he's up to something, something that my system keeps warning me about"

Max's revelation had fazed Jake, Jake's face revealed multiple emotions, rage, pain, sorrow.

"What do we do now?" Jake asked with a pain-filled expression

He looked at Max, hoping that Max would give him an answer. Up till now, Jake had only done what Davis had asked him to do, Without Davis, Jake didn't have a purpose.

"We... Have similar goals Jake." Max responded "I want to leave and go back to my family and you want to know who your parents were. I can help you, and you can help me."

"You want to be friends?" Jake asked, he couldn't believe his ears. For the first time, Jake had someone who wanted to be his friend.

"Yeah, I need someone who can help me. Help me get stronger so that I can, in turn, help everyone" Max scratched his head before asking the last thing he wanted to ask "and I'm going to need your flesh as well. I don't know how often I get hungry but getting out of control again. It's not something I can afford to do"

Jake didn't even hesitate before responding "I already offered my help. If you have Lore's abilities and Lore gave all of us abilities I can't even begin to imagine how strong Lore was"

"So we're going to work together, before leaving CROSS I have one thing I need to do, and that's getting rid of the 15 PRIMA ships heading towards Kepler," Max told Jake about his plan

Hearing Max's plan Jake responded with a simple nod

Watching the two and hearing their conversation Olivia had her eyes set on one thing.

'I need to get Max out of here before Davis can find out that Lore is dead.'

A month had passed, Max and Jake had been working together to improve themselves.

Jake's flames had gotten stronger than ever before. His strength had also vastly improved.

Delta, Gamma, and Alpha, on the other hand, did improve as well however despite Max's offer they would never talk to him, They would talk to Jake, but that was about it.

The person who had improved by leaps and bounds however was Max.

Within the short span of a month, he had improved in every aspect, despite not having that many quests.

His skills had also vastly improved, he found out that by simply using a skill it would improve and if used enough it would level up

[Inspet: Gives the user a detailed description of the object that he's looking at]

[Sponge Level 3: Allows host to absorb knowledge like a sponge]

[Mental fortitude Level 1: Prevents the host from going insane]

[Self Regeneration Level 3: Hosts natural ability to heal himself]

[Energy absorption Level 5: allows the host to absorb and store energy]

[Magnetic Field Manipulation Level 5: Allows the user to disrupt the magnetic field around him (Requires Energy 10 per minute)]

He had been doing his everyday tasks while using his abilities at the same time, which had helped, he had his magnetic field up and running almost all day.

His plan of getting Sigma to help him improve his plasma abilities had also borne fruit, he now had free plasma manipulation, meaning that as long as he wanted to he could shape plasma in anything he desired.

During this time Max had also been taught how to fly a spacecraft, use teleporters and even how to operate Mechs.

The only strange thing that had happened was Davis's disappearance.

He had disappeared 12 days ago and hadn't come back since. Which according to the other blues was beyond strange.

Everyone was currently in the gym, except for Max of course. Who was being lazy and was in his bedroom.

*Knock Knock*

"Come in Olivia" Max was now aware of everyone's smell he could tell where they were from a mile away

Opening the door Olivia, who hadn't changed a bit, come in.

"Permission to sit master?" She asked. It was strange she had never asked to sit whenever she was around Max.

"Of course, what's up?"

"Master, I do not know how to sugar coat words." She stated "I wasn't born that way, simply put. Master, what do you think I've been doing up till now?"

Her question had caught Max off guard.

"Um, I don't know you've been my maid so far"

"Right, as expected. Master, you are too trusting"

"I've been employed by Davis to spy on you Max"

Hearing Olivia's statement Max immediately felt his heart drop.

"Olivia?"

"Don't worry I haven't told him anything yet." She simply responded

"Then what do you want?" Max just wanted to get rid of Olivia at this point

"Nothing, Master you're a kind person. And I'm afraid you aren't fit for this world."

"Olivia just stop it and tell me what you want" Max blurted out

"Like I said, Nothing. Davis, for the last 14 days has been trying to form a contract with Lore. But Lore won't respond. We all know why he won't"

"Max, I'm not from CROSS. I'm from PRIMA"

Hearing this Max had lost his cool, the enemy stood right in front of him.

"Now before you rip me to shreds allow me to say one thing. Leave this place. CROSS has no chance of winning."

"I know that Olivia WE ALL KNOW THAT. But I do, I can beat PRIMA" Max roared

"Max, Davis and every other member of CROSS is also a member of PRIMA. Not only that but he lied about the dates, PRIMA's ships have already arrived, it's too late."

Upon hearing that it was "too late" Max grabbed Olivia by the neck, she didn't even struggle

"M-ax, B-16 won't hurt the humans, Run. If B-16 Gets his hands on you... It'll be too late" Olivia struggled to speak.

"YOU LIED TO ME! ALL OF YOU!" Max's rage had already consumed him. Olivia's eyes began to go dark

'This is it' she thought but to her surprise Max let her go.

"Why tell me this now? I can't leave anymore not without my Family"

"You don't have to care about your family. B-16 doesn't hurt humans as long as they don't disobey him. I'll tell your parents to not disobey him. But you need to go."

after reading the Quest Max's actions were determined. He needed to leave.
