He sat on his factory roof, with a cigarette in his mouth. He had already smoked 7 and it was only 1pm.

He was surprised he wasn't locked up to be totally honest, turns out there isn't a law against killing 967,739 sentient aliens.

He remembered the exact number, not because he counted or because he remembered what actually happened.

No.

He went back to the planet with the ancient one, they found a memorial. She used a translation spell.

967,739 dead.

He was meant to punish the guilty, but he broke that promise quickly when he killed thousands of Yetis, but he could justify it.

When he killed thousands of demons that were killing humans in Vietnam, he could justify it.

Killing those 15 people when he met the X-Men and the earliest memory he has, he can justify it.

Killing the shield agent, he could justify it.

Everytime he killed he had an excuse.

Stryker was a bastard

Yetis were going to eat my friends

Demons were killing humans

The hand was brainwashing him

Blob was attacking the school

Sabretooth was an arsehole who deserved what he got

But this.

But killing 967,739 sentient beings.

He couldn't let himself justify it.

He was meant to punish the guilty.

How was he meant to punish himself?

So he smoked, he smoked until he didn't want to anymore, and when he didn't want to keep smoking, he lit a cigarette and put it in his mouth.

He prayed to some god that he would get lung cancer. He snorted, his new healing factor would heal it anyway.

The serum did loads of things, turned him into a top tier threat on this earth for one.

And improved his healing factor, significantly.

He looked back into the sky, threw his cigarette out of his mouth and lit another one.

Rain started to fall, he sighed as he sat up and looked down at the cracked concrete below.

Inhale

Exhale

He could feel the burn in his lungs.

The rain stopped around him, by stopped he meant the rain had stopped moving at all, he looked around in confusion.

The individual rain drops were beautiful as they reflected the sun light through them.

"Hey" Jean voice rang out from behind him.

He turned his head quickly, Jean still had a large bruise on the side of her face. At least it wasn't as bad as when he saw her in the crater.

She was wearing her green Marvel Girl uniform and the cloak he gave her for her birthday.

In that moment there was no person he wanted to see more, but she was also someone he never wanted to talk too again.

He closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep inhale and then blew the smoke into the frozen still rain above him.

"Hey" he said back, his voice was hoarse.

He heard Jean walk across the factory roof and set next to him, both of the mutants legs were hanging off the ledge.

"How are you doing?" She asked, she didn't really know what else to say.

A few seconds passed, he then laid back against the roof and stared at the frozen rain above him.

"That's a pretty trick" he said in reference to the rain. He just wanted to change the subject.

She sighed and laid back against the roof next to him.

"Drop your shields" she said, clearly talking about the shield in his mind.

To be honest the screaming didn't bother him, not anymore.

That was a lie.

It always bothered him.

"I can't just drop them Jean" he said, he needed to be at peace, calm.

He hasn't been close to that ever since Jeans birthday.

She sighed "It wasn't your fault Tomura" she softly said to the teenager.

"I used the Serum, All For One gave me the recipe Jean, I should have known better" he said as he threw away his cigarette, that one was done.

His hand slipped into his pocket and got out his lighter, he was about to light another one, when Jean took it out of his shaking fingers.

He turned to the older woman and was about to say…something, he didn't know what he was going to say.

"It wasn't your fault, was that even you in your body? Do you even have memories of doing any of that" she asked with the cigarette in his fingers.

"No, but I got in the Ser-" he tried to protest.

"Yeah, you got lied to by some all powerful god" she said frustration running through her tone.

"Yes exactly, I got lied to and fell for it and now 967,739 sentient life's are gone. So yeah Jean I'm not doing very well" he snarled.

Jean was sat up while he was still laid back against the flat roof.

He suddenly felt her hand move his, he glanced at her in confusion.

"Was that your fault?" She said "was it your fault that I moved your hand?" She asked.

"I could have stopped it" he said with desperation filling his tone, they both knew they weren't talking about his hand.

"Really? You didn't even know it was coming" she said.

"I should have known it was going to happen" he almost pleaded.

"You should have known some god was going to take over your body?" She asked.

They were responding quickly before thinking, he could feel his heartbeat rising,

So could she.

"Thought we were talking about you moving my hand" he almost snarled quickly.

"Don't even try to pretend we were talking about me moving your hand" she said back just as fast.

He slowly sat up himself and looked over at her, she was about 2 feet away looking at him.

He sighed "Listen, Jean there is nothing you can do, or say to make me think I'm some victim in this" his voice was just tired.

She noticed "Did you sleep last night?" She asked, when she saw him break eye contact she asked again "Have you slept at all?"

He hadn't, not really.

An hour or two here and there, never anything longer than four hours.

He was tired, tired of this, tired of the factory, tired of his mind constantly screaming.

He could usually drop the shield when he got home, ever since the serum he hasn't been able to drop it once.

He dropped back to his back with a sigh, his breathing was slow and deep whereas Jeans seemed faster and shallow.

"Open your mind" she sounded determined.

"Jean! It just doesn't work like that, it's not by my own choice it just happens when I feel, at peace or something" he said in frustration.

A few seconds passed by.

"When was the last time they were down?" She asked.

"At your birthday" he replied honestly.

She smiled involuntarily when she heard that, she remembered when she first noticed they'd dropped.

"Well it's just me and you now." She said softly. "Like my birthday"

"It was different" he tried to explain as he tried to sit up, she pushed him back down to his back.

"It was calmer, quiet-" she suddenly straddled his hips, her knees resting each side of his body. "It was nice" he said softly.

His heart started to beat like a drum .

Her weight was comforting and warm, she felt almost like fire as her hair danced around her face.

She leaned forward slightly and felt him raise one of his knees.

He noticed her pink lips part as she shortened the distance between them, the background noise almost disappeared as his own blown pupils met hers.

The cars, screaming, general city noise was turned to muffled background noise.

His left hand ran down her waist.

They were only inches apart, his right hand caressed her cheek as he broke the distance between them.

When his lips met hers they both felt warmth, burning warmth at their cores.

I'm not sure about this chapter at all! So let me know what you think because again I'm not totally sure about Jean and Tomura
