Dungeon (4)

After entering the cave and go downstairs, we arrived on the 1st floor. The interior is like an ordinary cave with a rocky wall. But even we are inside the cave, there is mysterious light illuminating the dungeon from the ceiling. I notice there are glowing parts stuck on the ceiling.

Maybe some glowing moss?

Or some ore that can shine in the dark?

"You surprised isn't Vin? In the dungeon, there is always glowing light to help us know our surroundings. I don't know what is that glowing thing, but they don't dangerous."

So they have functioned as lighting on this dungeon.

"The structure of the 1st floor is simple, just a long straight path. The enemy here is slime. They don't have the magic to attack us, but they use their bodies. Don't get fooled by their weak-looking body. It's packed with quite a punch."

"Okay."

From a distance, I can see a thing bouncing around several times. I guess they're slimes. After we get closer, we can see it clearly. A yellow slime with size as a basketball.

"Wow, I never see this slime before. It a lot bigger than usual."

"Me too."

"Maybe some subspecies of slime."

"If this a subspecies, then it will have a huge bonus and higher reward than ordinary slime."

"But we don't know anything about this slime."

"Don't worry, with my shield I will protect you guys. To analyze it."

So this monster is a new species.

Is this bad luck or good luck?

I give Alan a buff for strengthening his attack. While Jack approaching the slime. The slime notices us and begins to move. It bounces toward Cindy out of the blue, ignoring Jack who is in front of it. But the party still shocked and unable to encounter this sudden event. Luckily I still can move my body, albeit I still surprised. I parried the slime body with my sword. I don't use katana because I'm afraid the slime's liquid will make katana broke. Who knows their liquid is acid after all.

But this monster attacks our magician first, It feels like It knows, magic is effective against slime. To kill slime, we must destroy their core inside their bodies. Because their psychical body is like jelly, our weapon just slipping into their bodies. So unless the core destroyed, they never die.

After I repelling it, the slime flew a few meters and get between our party. In front is Jack and Alan, and behind it is me and Cindy. We decided to use a pincer attack. While protecting Cindy who chants a spell, I close the distance to the slime. Just make sure It can't get closer to Cindy.From.behind it, Jack and Alan slowly cornering it. Then suddenly slime spitting a yellow liquid to Jack. Fortunately, Jack already uses his shield to block that liquid. Alan immediately rushes toward the slime who paralyzed after spitting such liquid managed to slice, But unfortunately, his attack can't reach Its core.

I made eye contact with Cindy, and she nods her head. It seems her magic is ready. I will help them finish this monster.

I cast my magic, Mana thread and extend it to Alan and Jack. Now their position is beside the slime both in right and left side. In front of me is the slime. From the thread, I use a mana shield in front of those two. And as finishing part, I add extra Shield behind the slime. The shield has square shapes and sizes around my height, so it's should enough to prevent it run.After blocking it' escape route, Cindy throws her spell and immediately the slime frozen. We don't waste our time and destroy the core.

After that, the slime is perishing and drops a yellow magic stone with the size around the tennis ball.

"Haah, I never see slime with that side before. Usually, they're small fries but suddenly meet with bigger slime, make me fear for a moment."

"But thanks to Vin, if he doesn't protect Cindy, God only knows what will happen to us."

"I only do what I can, so I don't become a burden."

"Hahaha don't worry about it, we never consider you as burden Vin."

After that, we, continue to advance to find the path to the 2nd floor. We meet this yellow slimes 3 times. But unlike before, we managed to take it down easily. Because of the first encounter before, everyone knows their pattern attack and managed to encounter it. The first battle before is hard because no one knows about the new monster. That's show adventure relying a lot on the information. Without information, they can't fight effectively.

Usually, slime's color is blue and doesn't have magic. But until now, we already encounter a lot of colorful slimes. From Red slime which spitting fire, yellow slime who has acid liquid, Green slime who releases poison gas.

The green slime is very troublesome. I give Jack a mana shield to test out slime ability. After we know, It can make poison gas, I give mana shield to Alan to prevent the gas touch him. I give him because of his role in finishing it.

Why not Cindy?

We can't waste magic on small fries like slime. We need to clear this dungeon today.

Even so, what is this bad feeling I got after entering this dungeon?

The monster is different from the usual type.

It already gives bad vibes to us.

After struggling with a jelly opponent we finally reach the path to the 2nd floor, though it just looks like ordinary rock stairs.
