21 Dungeon (5)

After descending the stairs, we arrived at 2nd floor. The interior of the 2nd floor same as the previous floor with stone wall. But there are 3 paths here.

2 path on the left and right side and 1 straight path.

Is this some maze to choose 1 path?

From a distance, I can see something like a door on the straight path in front of me.

What about the other paths?

"On the 2nd floor, we need to activate crystal to open the ways to the 3rd floor. The crystal here located on right and left path. There will be monster who will attack us when we activate the crystal."

Alan told me.

"Usually we go separate way because monster here is easy to handle. But something different today, so we need to stay together."

"I agree."

Because an abnormal event on the first floor makes us more cautious about some unpredictable trouble that will occur.

Why are we decide to continue dive into the dungeon, even there's abnormality?

It's because Alan's party duty to make sure the dungeon safe to dive for another adventurer.

We come first to dive in, so we can inform any abnormality to people outside. Alan's party is the longest adventurer that stay in the village, so everyone put their expectation to them when there are troubles in the dungeon.

The adventurer already know what to do, if they found abnormality in the dungeon, so probably when they found it, they will withdraw from the dungeon for a while until there's a stronger party that will do an inspection, that was what Alan said to me when I suggest to Inform abnormality to people outside before.

In this case, Alan's party is the chosen one to inspect this matter.

I still remember the monster on the 2nd floor is a bat-like creature. But I don't see them from the beginning. If they're bat monster, I can see it on the ceiling, right?

"We will go to the left side first, if this the usual dungeon when we reach close distance to crystal, the bats monster will attack us. But right now, there are no monsters. What's happen?

I see, so this is another abnormalities.

Maybe the 2nd floor just a bonus, so we don't need to fight the monster.

After taking a left path, we continue to walk carefully. Who knows there are monster that prepared an ambush attack. But the attack never comes.

After walking quite long, we found the crystal. It has diamond-shaped, with white color. It has a height of around 50cm.

" Here comes, the trigger of the monster."

I thought the monster in the dungeon is suddenly popped out and attack the adventurer. But according to Alan's explanation, the monster in dungeon lives in this dungeon, and not spawning like what I imagine.

But now, the monster is gone, so what creature will come, if we trigger it?

So we decided to continue until we reach close distance to the crystal. Suddenly there's a small earthquake and some hole opening on the floor around us.

From that hole, there is a new creature come out. It has a height around 20 cm, has 2 leg and ferocious mouth with a lot of teeth. Their color is black with some red lines around their bodies.

"It's Hell Hound!!! What are they doing in the small dungeon like this??!!"

Alan's party is panicking after witnessing that creature who doesn't belong to this dungeon.

"Shit, their strength equal to D rank adventurer, and there are so many of them."

Indeed, the monster comes out from the hole like a product from an industrial factory. There are countless of them and they staring at us right now.

"Right now, isn't time to panicking, we need to find a way to escape."

I raised my voice to grab their attention who lost in the panic.

Just for safety, I cast multiple Mana shield in front of us. Behind us is the crystal.

"We need to activate the crystal and stop them from coming out!!!!"

I see, so it's like the crystal is an alarm for the monster.

"Cindy activates the crystal, we will protect you."

Alan then readied his sword and cast buff for himself. He didn't use his buff in one previous floor because slime is small fries.But right now, our situation is in crisis. We can't let our guard down.

Jack also readied his shield and his mace. He cast some barrier magic to strengthen my mana shield.

For now, we need to buy times for Cindy to active the crystal. But the enemies show no mercy. They began come attacking my mana shield at once.

Some crack appeared in the first layer and broke. Their strength is great and they have a lot of numbers that make us trapped here.

I cast a buff on myself and pull my katana out. I use 2 swords here to maximize my power. If I can't kill them with an ordinary sword, at least I can use it to defend their attack.

As for insurance, I cast mana shield on Cindy behind us. She is our hope after all. If she fails, we dead for sure.

Not long after struggling to break my mana shield, the hound comes to attack us.They leaping toward us, intending to bite us with their jaw full of teeth.Jack block their attack with his shield and throw them out with his shield too, while knocking other hound with his mace.His figure is look like a brave soldier.Alan also use his sword and charge toward the herd of hounds. His attacks is very fast, in one second he kills nearly 4 hounds.

My situation isn't suited to observe their fight, but I stay behind to protect Cindy, so obviously I can see their gallant figure from behind.

Some hound who slipped from Alan and Jack attack come to me. I can't dodge their attack, because of Cindy right behind me. If they get past me, I afraid they will attack Cindy who defenseless. Cindy currently uses her magic to activate the crystal, so she can't be disturbed.

I repelling them with my ordinary sword and kill them using my katana. I even use my foot to kick the hound who approaching me. I use my mana shield to block unexpected attacks from my blind spot. But after killing a lot of them, they still continue to come out from the hole.

Shit. Can Cindy make it faster?

My ordinary sword is nearly broken with a lot of dents because repelling their attack and get a lot bitten too.

After desperately fight around 5 minutes, they stop coming out. It seems the crystal already activated.

Alan and Jack have some minor injuries like few stretches from hound claw. I have small injuries too because I use my foot kick the monster, my foot has been bitten by the hound.

"Ah, Vin your foot is bleeding. Heal yourself first!!!"

"Okay.Recovery."

After I use Recovery, the wound stopped bleeding and close itself like a miracle.

I cast Recovery to Alan and Jack too.

I can save my mana and use the potion to heal them, but the potion effect not instantly like my magic. I was afraid their wound will make some infections or negative effects. So it's better to treat it early.

"We just clear half 2nd floor and we already exhausted. What's wrong with this dungeon huh?"

"We encounter a lot of trouble from the 1st floor. It never happened before."

Uhhh.I hope they don't blame me who causes misfortune to them.

"We are in the dungeon, so no one knows what will happen inside it."

"Yeah. We must warn the people outside and looks for helps from the stronger party from Capital."

"I agree. But we have a lot of spoil of war."

Yeah, on the floor there a lot of monster corpse and magic stone too.

"Even we can't clear the dungeon, at least we have a quite fortune and use this magic stone as a substitute for advance to B rank."

"Yeah, I hope it works."

We decide to take a break to replenish our strength before come back to the surface. I drink some mana potion to replenish my mana. My level growth to Lvl 20, thanks to the hellish dungeon.
