Goblins

When we entered the forest Kanthari put me down so that we could both fight. I followed behind Kanthari as she walked through the forest listening out for any sounds that could be caused by goblins.

We walked for a while longer until we started hearing what sounded like primitive words coming from a bit further ahead.

"Ciara, you should sneak around and attack them from behind while I attack them from the front. I will grab their attention by attacking first, so when they are all focused on me that is when you must strike." Whispered Kanthari.

Hearing what Kanthari said I nodded my head to show my agreement before walking away to circle the goblins.

I arrive at the opposite side of the goblins camp and look between the bushes leaves to see how many goblins are waiting for us. There appear to be 30 goblins wandering around the camp.

well camp might be a bit of a strong word to use as there camp only consists of a poorly made fire with a buck roasting above it.

After a bit of waiting on my end I see an arrow come flying from where Kanthari is hiding hitting a goblin in the neck causing it collapse like a puppet that had its strings cut.

Taking this as the start of the fight I use Spatial Slash raking my claws through the back of a goblins neck.

I irritatedly tell my system to hide my notifications as the moment of distraction they cause could prove to be extremely deadly.

With that out of the way I focus back in on the fight to see that Kanthari has already taken care of another goblin that has multiple arrows sticking out of it.

Not wanting to lose out on the experience points I use earth Manipulation to form spikes underneath 5 of the goblins which I then shoot upwards to impale them.

I quickly glance at my mana to see how much I have used and realise that I need to be more conservative as I have already burnt through half of it.

Deciding to try out my physical stats I rush into the fray jumping up onto a goblins back where I rip open its carotid artery causing blood to spray through the air. My boosted agility stat is no joke as the goblins didn't seem to be able to even register it when I ran at them.

I jump between the goblins ripping open their necks another four times as I wait for my mana to regenerate. While I do this Kanthari manages to take care of another three goblins with her archery.

When my mana tops of I use earth Manipulation again to impale another ten goblins instantly causing my man to drop into the double digits.

I move on to slash through another 3 goblins necks while Kanthari kills the other two.

Just as we are about to relax thinking that it is over another goblin comes running at as from the forest. the only issue is that this is no ordinary goblin.

Kanthari reacts first as she shoots an arrow at it which goes straight through its neck dealing 900 damage.

Wanting to get this fight over with I use all of my regenerated mana to summon four earth spikes which stab into him from all sides. While this doesnt kill him it wounds him greatly while at the same time locking him in place.

I collapse from an extreme headache caused by mana depletion but luckily Kanthari is there and she shoots it two more times which kills it.

While resting with the battle finished I open up my status to see what level I ended up as.

I shout inside my head with joy as now when I get the reward from my quest I will be able to finally evolve. I decide to wait till after I have evolved to assign my stat points so that I can use them where they benefit me most.

After resting for a while Kanthari walks over to five of the goblins and slices of the ear with a hunting knife. With that done we proceed to walk back to the guild in comfortable silence.
