Marshadow!

Marshadow resembles a shadow and has a wispy figure. It is predominantly black and seems to be wearing some sort of helmet. The helmet has two horn/ear-like appendages with a wispy smoke in the center. Its eyes are orange-red with an oval on top. Its arms possess a bump on each wrist. Marshadow appears to wear a collar and its legs have a shadowy trail. It has a tiny mouth.

For a moment everyone looked confused. No one was able to identify what Pokémon Itsuki was using. However, Professor Carolina, Cynthia's grandmother recognized Marshadow. Carolina had visited the Alola region before and had studied the Pokémon that lives in the Alola region.

"Marshadow. Never thought I would see the day where a mythical Pokémon like Marshadow would let itself be captured by a human." Everyone looked at Carolina. They understood from her words, that Itsuki had another, a second mythical Pokémon in his team.

"Itsuki when did you get this Pokémon?" The last time Cynthia checked, Itsuki didn't have Marshadow. So Itsuki must have captured Marshadow after he separated from her.

"His name is Marshadow, another mythical Pokémon of the Alola region. I met him when I was searching an old abandoned graveyard to find ghost-type Pokémon." Itsuki's words shocked all the people who were watching the Indigo League live.

The people watching the Indigo League from the Alola region had various reactions. Some people even went far as to say that the Alola Association should ask Itsuki to hand in two of their mythical Pokémon.

Even Lance and Lorelei looked at Itsuki in envy. Even though Lance and Lorelei both were elite four members even they didn't have any mythical Pokémon. While Itsuki was lucky enough to capture two mythical Pokémon.

[I must say Itsuki has crazy luck when it comes to catching Pokémon. Each of his Pokémon is very rare, especially two of his mythical Pokémon.] Many trainers looked at Itsuki in jealousy.

After a month of brutal training, Marshadow managed to raise his level to Peak 4th order. Since Marshadow cannot use Aura, he is a lot weaker than Zeraora.

"Itsuki, I must say I am beyond impressed. I guess only you're capable of taming two mythical Pokemon and have them in your team." The appearance of Marshadow has shaken Cynthia's confidence. She was now beginning to worry about Itsuki's other Pokemon.

"Alright let's start this battle with shadow ball" A black sphere began to form in front of Spiritomb. Itsuki seeing this ordered Marshadow use copycat.

Marshadow also created a shadow ball. Both Pokemon fired their shadow ball.

After the attack exploded in a collision, Itsuki immediately ordered Marshadow to use close combat.

"Stop Marshadow by using Dark pulse." When Spiritomb prepared to fire the Dark pulse, Itsuki ordered Marshadow to use "Copycat."

Boom!

Both of their attacks clashed and exploded creating dark smoke, blocking Cynthia and her Pokémon's vision. "Marshadow it's time to use this chance. Do what I told you and use close combat."

Cynthia hearing Itsuki's words suddenly had a bad feeling. She felt Itsuki was trying to take advantage of the fact that she did not know Marshadow's abilities.

Neither Cynthia nor Spiritomb noticed the shadow that appeared beneath Spiritomb by using the smoke as cover. When two pairs of dark green eyes looked at Spiritomb from the shadows, only then did Cynthia feel something.

Under the shocked gaze of Cynthia, Marshadow jumped out of the shadow and landed a punch on Spiritomb from behind.

Marshadow didn't stop there. Multiple punches and kicks continuously fell on Spiritomb. Itsuki had trained Marshadow in martial arts so each of Spiritomb punches and kicks targeted Spiritomb's weak points.

In the end, Spiritomb couldn't bear the pain and fell to the ground. "Now use Assurance" Itsuki wasn't going to go easy on Spiritomb and repeat the same mistake he did before. Itsuki easily could have won the first battle if only he had taken the initiative to attack Braviary instead of defending.

Marshadow jumped up in the air. White energy that took the shape of a giant 1-meter palm formed in the air than under Marshadow's order, the giant 1-meter big palm slammed into Spiritomb.

Boom!

The ground beneath Spiritomb shattered into a spider web pattern. Spider web-like Cracks appeared all over the ground 5 meters around Spiritomb.

[Clever Itsuki. Itsuki used Marshadow's natural ability to land a surprise attack on Spiritomb then without giving any chance to Cynthia, Itsuki landed another quick and fast attack on Spiritomb which was super effective. Now the question is, will Spiritomb be able to get up like Braviary?]

Marshadow, Cynthia, and Itsuki all knew the answer already. Marshadow returned to Itsuki's side while the referee observed Spiritomb for 10 seconds.

Seeing the Spiritomb was not moving, [Spiritomb is unable to continue.] With the referee's declaration, the emergency team came and took away Spiritomb.

[The second round of this match has ended with Itsuki's fast and clean victory. Though I am sure the result might have changed if Cynthia had known about Marshadow's ability to travel using shadow.] Itsuki couldn't deny the commentator's words. Itsuki only won because he found an opening.

From the start of the Indigo League, Itsuki was saving his Marshadow and his last Pokemon to surprise his opponent. 'I hope I will be able to maintain the lead.' Now Cynthia had 4 more Pokemon left while Itsuki had 5 more Pokemon.

[Cynthia's next Pokemon is Roserade. Roserade is a Grass and Poison-type Pokémon. Roserade can poison its prey and victims with the flower bouquets of its hands, by giving them poison or thorny whips. Roserade is known for its grace and beauty, both in and out of battle. Their movements have been compared to that of dancers.]

'I haven't seen Cynthia fight a match using Roserade before.' Itsuki thought as he looked at Roserade's stats.

"Itsuki I will start first as usual. Roserade uses toxic around yourself."

"What?" Itsuki realized what Cynthia was trying to do. Roserade released a purple toxic substance that looked like pollen grain and had purple color. The purple substances fell on Rosarade's body and the 5 meters area around was covered in toxic substances.

Cynthia did this to temporarily stop Marshadow from using his natural shadow sneak ability. This move bought Cynthis some time to think of a counter to defeat Marshadow. Right now Marshadow undoubtfully was the biggest obstacle in her path to defeating Itsuki.

Itsuki now was stuck. Other than 'Assurance', all other moves were close combat-type moves. If Marshadow comes in contact with the toxic then Marshadow would be poisoned which would slow down his movement and attacking speed.

Having no choice, Itsuki decided to go with Assurance.

"Counter it with Petal Blizzard" Bunch of white glowing leaves hit the 1-meter big palm made out of white energy.

Boom!

'At this rate, things won't go anywhere. I have to take this risk.' Itsuki was in trouble since his only long-ranged move could be easily countered by Cynthia. As for Copycat, Itsuki wanted to save it for the last moment.

"Marshadow fire punch" Under everyone's gaze, Marshadow entered into his own shadow. The shadow quickly approached Cynthia. Cynthia was not going to let this happen.

"surround yourself with Leaf Storm."

Itsuki widened his eyes seeing that Roserade had surrounded herself with sharp green glowing leaves. If Marshadow appears behind her, then he will take damage from two attacks. One from leaf storm, second from toxic.

Itsuki panicked seeing that Marshadow had opened his dark green eyes and was about to come out of the shadow. "Marshadow don't come out of your shadow."
