"Oh, and what he didn't tell us? We all had to spend the rest of our lives here because he wasn't expecting us to ever win, and the reward was nothing but a lie." Zatanna listed out some of the news he could share with them.

"Sadly, no. What he forgot to tell you is that when you complete your mission, you will all return to your world at the same time you were taken away. So, no matter how long it takes, you will be back at the same time in your timeline." Dan said calmly, but his words caused a huge wave in the minds of all these DC superheroes.

"You are... joking, right?" Barbara couldn't help but ask. One of the main reasons they agreed to capture him was simply because it would take less time than trying to fulfill his goals.

But now they are learning that time was never a factor in their mission to return home. They feel stupid doing it now, especially when it also costs them their freedom.

"And why does that matter to you?" Dan asked harshly while turning his head. "You all already lost your chance, and now I own your souls. So just keep quiet."

Those words serve as a painful reminder to the whole team that they have lost their only chance to get home because of their impulsive behavior.

But their thoughts don't matter to Dan now, as he simply wants to know what path this black-haired sorceress will choose even if he has some idea what she will decide if her brain is working properly, but you never know with DC characters.

"So, now tell me, Zatanna. What will you do? What path will you choose?"

'Yeah, like I have a choice?' Zatanna thought, which was entirely correct as she either had to join him or try to survive in an unknown and dangerous world without any power or support.

While she is confident in herself, she is not an idiot to think she could survive in this without any knowledge or power, unlike some people here who think they can take on the world on their own.

"I will join you, but it's only fair I know your goal before joining, right?" Zatanna said while directly looking into Dan's eyes, trying to make it clear that she wanted to know before making any decision.

But she also knows that even if she doesn't get the answer, she will still join him because it is the most logical way to proceed. She doesn't like any of the alternatives she has.

"I don't know," Dan said in a most relaxed and honest manner, which somehow shocked them as they could feel he was telling the truth like he was literally waiting for someone to ask him that question.

But that doesn't stop every one of them from having an unconvinced look on their faces after hearing his answers.

And who could blame them for it? Most of them are enslaved by him, and the remaining members have been strong-armed into joining him. Therefore, forgive them for not believing he has no goals or dreams since his actions clearly don't match those of anyone without them.

Seeing those looks, Dan suddenly felt like he should continue to explain his reason. "When I was thrown into this world a month or so ago, I was scared and hopeless, and the only thing I wanted was to survive, and I still do, but after experiencing things, I understand that playing safe will not work with the entity that sent me here."

"All he wants is entertainment, and if I don't entertain him, then he will create his own entertainment just like he did when he sent you all here with that mission just so he can get me to promise to keep things entertaining."

"So, now, as I said, I don't know what my goal is."

"Do I want to survive in this world? The answer would be yes. But do I want to keep things entertaining for him despite how much it contradicts my goal of survival? The answer would be a big yes again."

"Do I want to leave all this shit behind and return to my normal and boring life again? The answer would again be a big yes."

"So, now tell me, what should I do when all three of my goals contradict each other like this?" he asked, and he knew it was a stupid thing to do, but right now, he didn't care. This was the first time someone other than that entity had asked about his goals, and somehow he couldn't help but say his mind in front of them.

Maybe it's because most of them are slaves that cannot betray him, and others have already promised not to harm him in any way.

But his words have a strange effect on the DC heroes as they don't know he was also taken away from his home. However, now that they know that, they are able to draw some parallels between their situations.

The only difference is that he was an ordinary person before all this happened to him, and he had no way to return to his world.

"You are also not from this world, right?" Zatanna asked while stating the obvious, to which Dan replied with a nod, "So why were you brought to this world? I'm sure you didn't ask to be sent here, right?"

"Not much of a story. We both have different views about things and argue about them and the next thing I know, I was sent to this world to prove that he is right and I am wrong." Dan said while trying not to give too many details.

Still, it made him feel good, as it was the first time he talked about the shit that had happened since that online argument. It also made him feel light in some ways.

But Dan didn't dwell on those feelings for long as he asked her again, "So, now, what's your decision now that you know my so-called goals?"

"I accept helping you complete your goal," Zatanna said without any delay, clearly showing that she had already made her decision long before Dan even told him about his goal, as it was her only choice in this situation.

"But seriously, now I am actually hoping that you can change your goal to conquering this world or something similarly achievable." She said in a humorous tone, but she was seriously hoping that it would become true in the near future.

All three goals are almost unachievable, so she is hoping that he will find a more realistic, achievable goal since trying to capture him is practically unachievable for her.

Dan simply nodded his head while ignoring her later comment, "Then welcome to the crew." He welcomed her to the crew while completely forgetting about the warning from the operator.

.

Deep within the ocean, on a certain island covered in a strange bubble, a woman looks at the glass ball in her hand and frowns, 'How is it possible?'

.

At the same time, in a majestic castle, a young woman frowns like she has seen something unpleasant before she blots out of the room at a neck-breaking speed, most likely to report to her superior about what she saw in her vision.

.

Meanwhile, Dan was completely obvious about those changes right now as he was busy telling the basic knowledge and power structure of this world to the team and Zatanna.

He told them about the various islands, kingdoms, marines, pirates, and world governments, basically important stuff one needs to know when sailing on the Grand Line.

After the whole explanation, almost everyone present has a disgusted look on their faces.

"Surely it can't entirely be true, right?" Conner, aka Superboy, asked.

He, like all others, cannot believe that the government that rules this world is that much disgusting and is ready to do these types of things to its own people.

"Yeah, it's a heavily edited version from my point of view. The real world is far worse." The way Dan said that doesn't exactly fill them with confidence.

"But now that is out of the way, I want both to search our ship for anything valuable or strange, okay?" Dan said while pointing at Robin and Kaldur.

They don't have a choice as their body starts to follow his command without any consent from them.

After that, he told others to do the work on the ship as he rushed toward his room to have another talk with the RoB.

'Alright, what the hell is this?' Dan couldn't help but ask in the most annoyed voice possible.

Just now, he has read the system message that now his future and past in this world can be seen by others. In simple words, he no longer has protection from divination and other similar powers.

[Not my fault I set this up at the start. That damn operator even gives you a hint. But here we are.] Rob said in an amused voice, like what had happened was only entertaining for him...which is kinda true.

[Now enjoy the attention you have gained because I certainly will.]

'You are a giant asshole.'

[I know that, and I enjoy being one.]
