Prologue (Part 2/3)

In the control room, everyone could barely hold in their laughter watching what could possibly be the stupidest pair in the world.

"They don't even suspect anything!" A woman with a shrill voice cried with an equally shrill cackle.

"Thank you for saving me!" One omega mocked, using a falsetto voice and posing as what he thought looked like a damsel in distress.

"Don't thank me yet." Another over dramatized a heroic pose, resulting in greater fits of laughter.

"B-but... but.. boss," A brave yet timid voice stood out amongst the crowd of laughter and merriment. "Why'd you let them go?"

Everyone immediately quieted down. That question had indeed been on everyone's mind. Why did their boss let the traitor surrogate and her equally traitorous mate go?

"The two will have a child." A deep and chilling voice washed over the room like a cold wave, sending involuntary shivers down their backs. The voice's owner was in the corner, wearing a mask. But that still didn't do enough to cover the deep knife scars that were peeping out, surrounded by obvious burn marks. Underneath his wig—as everyone knows—are the even more horrendous burn marks from a prior experiment that had gone deathly wrong.

No one knew the details. They were all too afraid to ask.

"Why does that matter?" The same shy person bravely asked, as though he weren't afraid of this very man.

The chilling voice laughed. One could say it sounded evil, others could say it sounded victorious.

"Because that child…"

At that very moment a loud alarm sounded, alerting the mass that the pair had indeed left the laboratory premises. Only those near the boss in the corner heard what he said. Their eyes widened with disbelief.

After the blaring alarm shrilled to a stop, everyone outside of the circle desperately wanted to know what the boss had said.

The few that heard the boss whispered the message amongst themselves. The boss did not like to repeat himself and detested having anyone repeat his words in front of him.

He is quite the peculiar person, but many sympathized with him for he is permanently disfigured. Despite his lack of aesthetic beauty, he still has a shocking amount of pursuers.

Well, then again, he does own and operate the Lab.

Who wouldn't mind having a disfigured mate or bond if he has wealth and power? The answer: no one!
