Andrea spent the drive trying to think about the case but getting distracted trying to work out if she could spot which of the cars following her might belong to Steel. She toyed with the idea of driving down a side road suddenly to lure him out.
After nearly running a red light, she decided it would be better to just focus on driving safely. If she needed to identify Steel's vehicle, it would make more sense to have Kyle watching behind them while they drove together, instead of risking a crash trying to watch her rear view mirror.
When she got back to the courthouse, there was a press of people inside the doors shaking off umbrellas and removing coats. An unimpressed looking custodian was fruitlessly pushing around a mop in an effort to prevent the marble floors from becoming too much of a slipping hazard from all the wet feet and dripping umbrellas crossing the lobby. It looked like he'd been at it all morning.
