Chapter 101. New world

"Urghh"

Leon groaned as he slowly opened his eyes.

For some unknown reason, his mind was being assaulted by a catastrophic headache that made it feel like his world was spinning

"Just how much did I drink for my head to be like this" groaned Leon

But as Leon looked around he quickly noticed something wrong.

Green grass and tall trees. For some unknown reason, his surroundings had changed to that of a lush forest.

But surprisingly, suddenly waking up in a forest wasn't even the most shocking part about all this . What truly scared Leon was that All around him were terrifying potholes and fist marks all over the ground, which made Leon wonder what sort of terrible beast had and passed through caused this scene.

"What on earth..."

As Leon was looking at his surroundings, he suddenly winced as a sharp pain shook his mind

"Fang Yang, Corpse Ghost Sect...."

Leon, no, Fang Yang quickly sorted out his newly found memories and got everything together.

The previous owner of this current body was called Fang Yang and he was an outer disciple of the Corpse Ghost Sect. And like its name suggested, the Corpse Ghost Sect was a sect that focused on the refining of human corpse puppets and ghosts, and because of this, they really did not have a good reputation in the cultivation world

After all, this was a world that emphasised filial piety and the honouring of your ancestors as some of its core principles and yet the disciples of the Corpse Ghost Sect were a bunch of unscrupulous bastards that went around digging up ancestral graves for fun.

Just think about it for a second, how would you feel if your kind and caring grandma was dug up from her grave and started swinging at you?

The Corpse Ghost Sect not only did not give a damn about such things, they even committed such crimes on a regular basis and had basically offended every other major sect on some level.

If It wasn't for the overwhelming strength of the Corpse Ghost Sect, then I'm afraid they would have been annihilated a long time ago.

Organising his memories, Fang Yang took a look at the body he was currently in.

Fang Yang, a second layer Qi cultivator of the Corpse Ghost Sect.

He had joined the sect at 12 years old and had been cultivating for 7 years but had only made it to the second level of qi refining.

The predecessor's Cultivation talent was obviously not good but, even despite knowing this, he wasn't reconciled.

After growing up in an immortal cultivation sect, his heart was set on pursuing the road to immortality until the end.

Fortunately, he was able to stumble upon an ancient cave and found the broken inheritance of a corpse cultivator that told him how to refine a rare type of battle corpse puppet.

It was called the Battle Saint Corpse puppet and the corpse puppet was described to be an absolute monster that could fight across multiple small realms easily.

When the previous Fang Yang got this, he quickly realised that this was his only chance at changing his fate. Fang Yang resolutely sold his assets and exchanged all his contribution points in the sect. He even went so far as to take a large loan of spirit stones just to make sure that and bought all the necessary resources, and after doing so, set out on an adventure to seek fortuitous encounters.

Not long into his journey he met an injured cultivator named Zheng Li and ended up saving his life.

After speaking with Zheng Li, Fang Yang realised that he was from a small clan of cultivators that had a body-refining inheritance and it was from then that he had begun to hatch a plan.

Using his slick tongue, Fang Yang managed to stay with Zheng Li for a year, hanging out and drinking and had actually ended up becoming close brothers with him but in secret, he would go behind Zheng Li's back and dig up his father's coffin and start to refine him into a Corpse puppet.

His plan was to complete the refinement of the corpse puppet and then run away secretly, and he would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for the fact that the Zheng family was being attacked causing Zheng Li to break into the ancestral mausoleum and catch Fang Yang mid refinement!

Caught with his pants down there was no way Fang Yang could try and lie his way out and as a filial son, how could Zheng Li just watch his father be refined into a corpse puppet?

No discussion was needed and a bloody fight instantly broke out between the two of them causing Fang Yang to flee for his life. Of Course, he didn't forget to take the corpse with him.

But Fang Yang definitely underestimated Zheng Li's determination as he chased him down relentlessly for miles, leading to a vicious battle between the two that ended in Fang Yang's death and allowing the new Fang Yang to take over the body.

Getting up, Fang Yang checked his body and was surprised to find that although it was completely soaked in blood, he could find no wounds on his body.

He then looked around and then walked to what he assumed was the corpse of Zheng Li but as he got closer, he could see the man's chest slowly rising and falling indicating the man was still breathing.

As Fang Yang saw this he was stunned.

'What a tenacious bastard.' thought Fang Yang

The body refining techniques of this world were no joke!

There was a terrifying gash wound across his chest that left parts of his bones completely exposed but the man was still hanging on to life. It seems that if he was treated with some pills from his memory, then Zheng Li may really survive this experience

But if seeing Zheng Li still alive caused Fang Yang shock, seeing Fang Yang still walking around nearly caused him to burst a blood vessel.

I'm over here bleeding to death and here you are walking around all fine and dandy!

Zheng Li's eyes were completely red as they locked onto Fang Yang as a boundless amount of hatred continued to surge inside them.

"Fang Yang you bastard!" Roared Zheng Li

"Scum like You will not have a good death!"

Seeing Fang Yang still alive, Zheng Li wanted to curse him to death but he was so angry he just coughed a mouthful of blood and died on the spot!

Fang Yang: !!!

Seeing this sight Fang Yang was just left speechless.

Although he wasn't the original Fang Yang, the hatred he felt from Zheng Li's eyes was so intense it was practically tangible.

Just how deep was the hatred if just seeing him alive was enough to aggravate his wounds and lead him to death?

To make matters worse, even in his last moment of death the original Fang Yang never thought what he did was a big deal and could never understand why Zheng Li would overreact so much.

For one it was a life and death grudge but for the other, it was only a minor inconvenience.

Poor Zheng Li really died an unjust death!

It seems like his memories truly weren't clouded, The disciples of the Corpse Ghost Sect truly aren't good people.

After realising Zheng Li's tragic tale and seeing as he died right in front of him, Fang Yang at least wanted to bury him to prevent him from being eaten by wild wolves but as he approached the dead body something strange happened.

As Fang Yang approached Zheng Li a green light shot out of his body plunging straight into Fang Yang's mind.

Suddenly Fang Yang heard a sound as a faint holographic screen appeared in front of him

Ding!

I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Across the vast convolution of worlds, divine beings rule as absolute sovereigns—each god assigned dominion over a singular realm. Skirmishes are inevitable, whether for power, amusement, or sheer pettiness. One such battle, between Nexus, the God of Trickery, and an aging, senile deity, resulted in an anomaly… A soul misplaced. Elliot, an ordinary man, was never meant for Ul’Tra-el. But fate, or perhaps a cosmic prank, had other plans. Unlike other worlds, Ul’Tra-el is an aberration—one that developed a voice. A voice that diverged from the natural order. A voice that changed everything. Its foundation cracked, leaking dimensions into one another. Rifts tore open like festering wounds, vomiting forth unspeakable horrors—monsters not meant to exist. But the world did not sit idly by. In response—perhaps an act of self-preservation—the world gifted its inhabitants power. Talents awakened, granting people extraordinary abilities. And for every rift sealed, the Voice of Ul rewarded them generously. Survival was simple: fight, grow stronger, and close the rifts… or die trying. In this ruthless, blood-soaked reality, Northern—a white-haired boy burdened by his past life—was reincarnated. But unlike the chosen heroes, he awakened as a talentless nobody. No power. No strength. No future. And when death loomed over him—when despair clawed at his soul and the cold grip of the failure threatened to take him— A Voice responded: [System Notice] [Your Soul cannot take a form.] [Searching for a Unique Pattern Ability…] [Searching…] [Search Found.] [A Unique System Ability has been detected.] [You Can Copy And Evolve Talents] ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.
