He had expected the guards to be strict, but he had never expected them to be so on edge.

Fang Yang quickly raised his hands, showing that he had no bad intentions as he spoke.

"My Name is Fang Yang. I actually have some important information to give to Elder Wan. I assure you that the information I have is important and can not be delayed."

As the three cultivators heard this, a faintly ridiculing smile appeared on their faces.

A lot of qi cultivators use the facade of having important information to try to meet with important elders to try to form some sort of relationship with them, usually in the form of offering bribes and gifts.

In their minds, this must be Fang Yang's intentions. After all, who would give important information to a weak cultivator that was only at the 2nd level of Qi refinement?

The 9th level Qi cultivator responded to Fang Yang with a smile on his face.

"Well, you can pass on the message and gifts that you wanted to give to Elder Wan through me. I'll make sure you can get your words across."

But as Fang Yang heard this, he was left speechless

"Gifts?"

He couldn't understand where this man even got the idea he was going to be giving gifts came from.

Looking at them with a firm gaze, Fang Yang spoke.

"I think you are confused about something. I didn't come here to give away gifts. I actually have some important information that I have to give to the elder ."

As the cultivators heard Fang Yang's words, the polite smiles they had on their faces completely disappeared and were instead replaced with ones filled with utter disdain.

They had thought the man in front of them was a man with wealth, but who could have imagined he was a poor ghost!

As for trying to meet the elder? Well, he could completely forget about it.

An elder wasn't just someone you could meet if you didn't have any status or wealth.

Even Elder Wan himself approved of what they were doing, agreeing it wasn't worth meeting someone who couldn't even come with gifts.

So with this in mind, the 9th cultivator tried to send Fang Yang away, completely lacking any of the politeness and respect he had shown before.

"Well since you don't have any gifts to give, you can just tell me what you have to say to Elder Wan and I will pass on the information. You can expect to meet him sometime next week ."

As 9th level Qi cultivator spoke, Fang Yang looked at his disdainful frown and dismissive eyes and quickly recognised that the man was speaking out his ass.

If he left it as it was, then there was no way that he would pass the information across but even if he did pass the information about the gold eating rat nest across, how would Fang Yang be able to get the reward for discovering it?

Seeing this, Fang Yang just sighed as he reached into his space bag.

He didn't want to do this because of the problems that would come with it.

Deep in his space bag was an ebony black wood token with a large, bold character that read 'Zhou'

This was obviously the token of the Zhou Family, one of the three main families that completely ran the corpse ghost sect.

As for how Fang Yang acquired it? Naturally, he got it from frisking that love struck fool, Zhou Meili, for all she was worth.

That poor girl had truly been fooled by Fang Yang into giving up her own token for Fang Yang's trip.

But even if he had managed to get it Fang Yang didn't want to use it because if he did, word would eventually reach the sect so when the time came to wash his hands clean of his involvement with Zhou Meili it would really be impossible.

How could the Zhou Family let a person that publicly used the tokens of one of their daughters run away? If such a thing really happened, where would they put their face?

Wouldn't anyone just think they could deceive their daughters and get away?

As a result, Fang Yang didn't want to use it, but now he was being forced. The rewards and danger involved with the rat nest pressed too hard onto his shoulders, not allowing him to dare ignore it. So he could only reluctantly take out the Zhou family token.

And Fang Yang did just that and the second he brought out the token, the looks on the face of the three cultivators froze.

"Actually, I'm part of the Zhou family"

As soon as the guards heard Fang Yang's words, it was like a thunderstorm went off in their heads.

They couldn't help but secretly curse at Fang Yang for keeping this information secret. If they had known that he was originally part of the Zhou family, there was no way they would make things so difficult. Looking back on things in hindsight, it just seemed like they stretched out their necks to get face slapped!

Quickly getting rid of their stupor, the leading cultivator put a wide smile on his face.

"Brother, you should have said that you were from the Zhou Family earlier. That way, we wouldn't have ignorantly made things difficult. I hope you won't take it to heart."

From the actions of the guards, it was obvious as to what they were trying to do.

They simply wanted to sweep what had happened under the rug. Fortunately, Fang Yang wasn't interested in holding grudges for something so minor and quickly played along.

"Haha no problem. You seniors were only doing your job."

But even though he had a smile on his face, Fang Yang still sighed in his heart.

With just one token, the hearts of the 3 cultivators did a 180. From being arrogant and dismissive, to fearful and panicked. But to be honest, this was expected.
