A woman burned in flames was yelling from a distance

"Ggaahhhh, I can't move. I'm stuck under something shit."

It seems that I'm crushed under a roof *sighs* so this is how I die. Hmph, damn it, I never got t-....

Where am I now? I could have sworn I died just a few seconds ago. Now I'm in an area. No, this can't even be considered an area you would think I'm floating since there's no floor, there's no space, no light, stars, it's just nothing pure darkness.

"Zenkai"

That's my name, but who was calling it. His voice was intense but not recognizable

"Saito, Zenkai come closer"

Who is this, and how do they know my full name?

I walked forward, and there was a man not much older than me with a mask covering his eyes. He was menacing. Even though he looked not much older, he was taller. He stares at me then speaks

"Do not be afraid; our fate is connected, and we will meet again.''

"Who are you and why am I here, and what do you mean by our fates are connected? What's even your na-"

He cuts me off.

"No need for such information, for you'll learn soon enough who I am."

"Wait, you still never answered me wha-"

THUMP, as I fall on the floor hard.

Oh yeah, I thought to myself, I had the same dream again about that dreadful day. But the second part was weird. I've never had such a strange dream, yet it felt so accurate at the same time.

"DAMMIT, I DIDN'T GET HIS NAME"

Why am I getting so worked up over this? It probably wasn't even real, but just something about that guy doesn't sit well with me.

"Do not be afraid; our fate is connected, and we will meet again."

What did he mean by that? Our fate is connected, he says. You might as well not stress over it again. It's not even real.

"SHIT, I'M LATE FOR SCHOOL"

I get ready for school a little on edge, though. Things feel odd Almost seems like time has gotten slower.

"Ha, that's ridiculous. What's wrong with me this morning."

Well, while I've been sweating these strange things, I forgot to make some breakfast well. I guess I'll stop at the coffee store and grab myself something to eat on the way.

"Welp, I'm off."

"Strange why do the cars seem as if they got slower than usual."

I dismissed it and kept going as I thought it was maybe due to the time of day. It wasn't a busy hour as it was early in the morning.

I continued the walk to the coffee store, but I didn't see a single person on the way there till I finally arrived at the coffee store, but something still wasn't right.

A woman greeted me when I entered, and she was moving particularly slowly. I went to the register to order some coffee and potentially a donut if I have time, but I'm already here, so what the hell.

"What will you like to order."

That's creepy, The woman spoke in a deep tone, and her words came out slow, like at least a 2-second interval between each word she said.

I was at the point now I was sure something was wrong first the dream, then the cars, now this. I was pushing it on the fence, but now I can confirm that none of this was a coincidence what was going on.

I started to move backward as the women continued to ask for my order, and I was in shock.

"Temporal freeze"

A tall man who looked as if he was in his 30's walked past me, went behind the workers counter, and grabbed some food and a cup of coffee. It was so confusing everyone was frozen; out of fear, I didn't move; I just stayed still

*laughs*

"Nothing like a free cup of coffee"

"Hey, you can't take that. It's stealing."

Oh shit, why did I scream out loud like that? Am I done for? Is Life been good?

"See, it's not stealing if no one kno- WAIT A DAMN MINUTE."

The man approached me in a confused manner. Did he seriously notice I wasn't frozen?

"Just kidding, I knew you hadn't frozen. Now the question is, why aren't you frozen? I could have sworn we spotted all the special ones for this year?"

The man was holding his chin. Special ones? What did he mean by that? I was still terrified. It felt like I was going to piss my pants.

"Hey, are you scared? I promise I won't eat you, or will I….just kidding, but you seem more interesting than you look, Zenkai."

"How do you know my name? can you read minds? and what do you mean by interesting?"

"Woah Woah, slow down. Now you dare to speak, so I'll introduce myself im known as Dr. Understand, and no, I can't read minds; I just looked at your school id if that's what it is."

This guy has a huge ego. Oh, I forgot that I still had school after all these events. I don't even know if I want to go, that is, if I make it out of here alive.

"And by interesting, I'm sure you've noticed everyone is frozen and should have seen on your way here that everything moved slowly."

" How is this possible, you may ask? Well, see, I can control time, whether it be slowing it down, speeding it up, or stopping it completely. But see, my ability is somewhat, let's say, passive where everyone who is considered a "normal human" and hasn't received power from our known five gods will appear to be moving and talking in slow motion to those who "aren't Normal" if I'm in the area as they aren't affected. But there are stages to my power I could level it up so high that specials themselves will be affected, but this is the base stage and only affects regulars or people who don't originate from the five."

So I guess I'm one of the nonnormal people doesn't surprise me; I haven't been normal my whole life.

"So as you might have guessed since you aren't affected, you would be considered not normal or special people like us who have abilities though if you want to learn more, come to this location to learn more about yourself and these special people."

He hands me a piece of paper with an address on it.

"Well, it's time for me to go see you later and hope you show up."

"WAI-"

"Resume"

What just happened? Did he disappear? Do people like that exist??

After the man disappeared, I continued to school. I didn't think I needed coffee anymore. I've seen enough crazy things today.

Though time was prolonged this morning, the school went by as if minutes were spent in each class….

*blacks out*

Is that voice again, but where did I hear it

The lady screaming suddenly appears in front of me, face covered in blood with tears down her face. She starts smiling

"You killed me; you let me die."

What?

"You could have saved me, but you didn't; now, my kids will grow up parentless."

I don't even know you…

Out of nowhere, memories started rushing back flames everywhere, blood, and that's where I heard her again

"HELP, HELP, SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME"

She was that lady…

"You remember now."

My heart starts beating fast while the setting changes as if I was pulled into space. Five people looked at me, but one of them looked familiar.

"Do not be afraid; our fate is connected."

Wait for its that guy

"ZENKAI"

Oh crap, I forgot I was in class. Now Mr. Soto is going to chew me out again. The whole class also started laughing at me

"Such a loser"

"Honestly, do you not have anything better to do than sleep in my class? At this rate, you'll fail"

Yeah, same old same old "you'll fail" I've heard it a million times already doesn't affect me anymore. I have no friends, no family, anything, so it's not like no one is relying on me to succeed anyway. But I respond regardless.

"Sorry, Mr. Soto, I didn't get to sleep that much, and it's been a weird day."

Though it's not like I can tell him what happened, or I'd seem like a crazy person, not like it mattered anyway.

"Excuses are not permitted. You know this already, Zenkai. I won't repeat this you got that"

"Yessir"

Mr. Soto went back to teaching the class, forgetting what he'd just said. I dosed back off, and lucky I didn't get called the whole class.

DING DONG

The bell had rung, signaling that school had ended for today.

Ah right, I reached in my back pocket to see the location of a piece of paper that revealed the site that the professor was going on about.

"Well shit, I have nothing else to lose."

I decided to go to the location where I would learn more about these "special people" like myself, but to my surprise, it was a forest rather dark, dark, dark forest when I arrived.

I think I'm going back home, which is creeping me out.

"Hey, watch where you're going."

This guy looks like a monster. Just who is he

"Uhh, sorry if I might have scared you, let me introduce myself. My name is Darling."

I started to smirk, holding in the laughter that was going to pour out.

I continued to try to hold my laugh, but I couldn't

"HAHAHAHA, I'm sorry, but darling, that makes you sound less intimidating. By the way, my name is Zenkai. Nice to meet you."

Darling had a particular grin, but at the same time, he looked like he was contemplating if he wanted to hit me or not, but I guess he chose not to.

"Anyways, did you also receive an invitation to this location? It seems pretty scary, doesn't it."

So it seems that Darling is one of these special people like me. At least I know I'm not alone.

"Well, wanna go together."

This guy is crazy if he thinks I'm going into that depth of darkness and tree.

Darling then speaks, not giving me the chance to finish my sentence.

What am I saying? I could make a run for it and go back to my everyday life, but something came over me, possibly wanting to know the answer for these special people, who I was, and what that dream was about.

"So you have returned any results?"

"Yes, master Kuzan and there seems to be an extra participant."

Kuzan, who seemed to have predicted this, looked pleased.

"It's all going to plan, Kirin trust we'll have our moment soon."

Kirin, one of Kuzan's lackeys, seemed confused by this statement but never questioned kuzan.

"Yes, master Kuzan, I trust in your plan but may I ask where Sin is"

Kuzan looked at Kirin, smiling like he was excited about something.

"Oh, don't worry, I sent him to have a little fun."

In a nearby town:

"Please, mister, don't hurt my children, I beg of you."

"Sorry, no one can do it. I have not been let out some chaos in a while, and I'm just getting started.

"LIGHTNING EXECUTION"

With one move, the whole town of Hanami was destroyed.
