35 Being challenged

Once I was done with my fun for a while, I decided to send Serafall a nice strawberry cake. I sent a message with it hoping she would cooperate :

Thank you for helping me in a time of grand distress. Unbeknown to you it might even have SAVED THE WORLD (the butterfly effect says it's possible). That being said, I hope I can trust you to NOT tell anyone, especially lord Beelzebub about my little inquiry. While I know he is your friend, he's now in a friendly competition with lord Azazel trying to find my identity. You helping him would be totally unfair. On a completely unrelated note, you will found with this letter a high quality cake baked by yours truly. It is clearly not a bribe for your silence, since I can feel we are becoming friends. And again, on a completely unrelated note, friends keeps each other secrets right ?

I was not really scared that she would tell Ajuka to be honest. Worst case, I would get a tap on the wrist. Ajuka DID give me his number and I wasn't rude. I can just say it's youth stupidity. I AM a devil kid and I heard of various heir doing much worse than sending prank phone calls.

During the next following weeks, I kept activating Tom at irregular interval to keep Ajuka and Azazel on their toes. Of course I would also send them texts to inform them about the total lack of result of their pitiful competitor attempts to find the great me.

While I could see a bit of frustration while spying on them, I was also happy to see they realized I was truly playing with them (if the way they were answering me was any indication).

In the end I created a special app just for communicating with the both of them. The hard thing was hacking their phones to install it without their knowledge.

I was once again greatly happy when I told them to execute the installed app 'Red Troll and his chums', since it would help communicate more simply.

Both of them kept insulting me (good naturedly ?) about finding a way to hack their phone without their notice.

It led to a conversation between Azazel and Ajuka trading hints, social profile, magic signature and various other stuff they collected to found me.

The amount of clues they found was impressive. I did told them they were on the right track and I was clearly impressed though.

After that we ended up talking about various stuff. I helped them both with their magical network security (I had nothing better to do to be honest), and I kept taunting them of course. I had the best fun by reminding them how awesome I was to be be responsible for a satan and the Grigori leader needing to team up to found about me.

It did lead to a discussion about the cold war, and the fact that both of them couldn't care less about it. They even surprised me by saying that honestly they hoped for a peace treaty at some point.

When I pointed out that telling me this was dangerous since I could be with a pro supernatural faction, they simply laughed and told me they realized I was like my namesake said, just a troll, and was not the kind to look for trouble.

To be honest, I was doubtful about that at first. Could they have really profiled me that much with our discussions ? It's then that I realized that yes, they could have.I did give my opinion on various matters after all.

At some point I just told them I would only spy on them if they asked (to found out clues), but I realized they kinda stopped looking actively and seemed happy with just gaining a new acquaintance.

Since I was getting bored again I asked them if they needed help on a project or something. That's when they asked what was I good at, and I simply told them 'everything'.

Not believing at all, and wanting to curb my ego, they told me as a jest to mess up 'The System' if I was so good.

And so, I had a new goal.

'The System', to oversimplify, is a kind of computer whose program determine what causes harm to Devils who come into contact with blessed objects, provides miracles, supervise sacred gears, and determines who goes to heaven or hell. It's more or less the legacy of the big guy. It's also know to be at the 7th layer of heaven.

To be honest, it wasn't THAT challenging. It would be kinda hard of course, but not the level I would I have expected.

First I needed to make a diversion so that Michael would not be at 'The System' when I would make a change. If Ajuka and Azazel could feel Tom spying on them, he would too.

Next I needed to find a way to physically connect to the system, which is located in HEAVEN. A place where a devil has NOTHING to do. The good thing though is that contrary to popular belief, heaven itself does not reject devils. Being there won't kill me or anything, but it would still leave some lingering corruption. So I created some kind of universal cross space Ethernet cable.

Roughly, I would be able to connect an end of the cable to any entry I could see though Tom. The most hard part, was allowing the device to cross space, irrelevant of defences, wards or environment.

I finished the tool two days before my birthday. As for the diversion ? I simply asked Celina to use Tom at the time every day on Gabriel. Why her ? Because Michael would protect her if something happens. So by making it look like someone was trying to do something, at a precise time, he would there.

And so, the day before my official introduction in the underworld, I acted.
