It's nice to have a POV to understand what they think. But at this point your story is more about the game itself than the protagonist making game. I think you should limit the POVs to the game highlight.

Isn't it normal to be subdued when surrounded by people than can squash you like a bug ? What do you mean he as a timid demeanor... Like, do you expect him to strut like a peacock ?
