Ain't No Way

"So what's the plan now?" Asked Jerena who lay on the couch and stared at the ceiling.

"We lay low and wait for the chaos to calm down," Siana said calmly as she sat in the lotus position, just finishing her cultivation session.

She turned her head towards me, sensing my presence as had just walked in, "What are planning Hakari?" Siana asked with a smile, "You clearly have something planned as there is no way that you went ahead and saved Jerena just out of the goodness of your heart."

Why does she want to be all up in my plans? Can't I just live in peace?

"That may be true but that's not important right now. We are being hunted, we can't stay in one place forever so we have to leave soon." I said as I looked out the window, seeing the smoke that polluted the clouds and the pools of blood that flooded the ground below, "Whoever is commanding these squads should know when one of them gets eliminated."

"So you don't know who is in control of these extermination squads that are hunting us?" Lian asked as she sat nonchalantly, sharpening her glaive.

I shook my head in response, "No. But we do know what group they come from so it's not like we are completely in the dark."

Turning my attention to myself inwardly I observed the changes that happened due to my breakthroughs. Me breaking through to the Second Order of body cultivation was a crucial part of my plans, the higher order of body cultivation the harder it is to break through to the next one, but this really isn't that much of a problem for me. While it will take a while to break into the Third Order it won't as difficult as most would say.

With my body cultivation breakthrough, I'll be able to handle the power of using any dao in creation break throughthrough into the Realm of Dao. All I need to do now is just save up energy so the next time I breakthrough I will go straight to Dao Sublimination, I'm still at the third stage of Nascent Soul but my current battle prowess should match up to a peak Dao Transformation expert at the bare minimum but I have no idea if I can defeat Siana in battle.

Changing into a black assassin robe after walking to the balcony of the safehouse I and the girls were staying in, I got lost in thought looking at the sunset amidst all the cranage wrought over the past few weeks until I was pulled out of it from an incoming call on my holocube.

I pulled it out and smiled when I saw who was calling, I answered it to be greeted by the smiling face of Kellian who seemed to still be roaming the academy.

"What's good bro, how you been?" I asked while looking at the massive pile of bodies in the background of Kellian's feed. Lucky bastard, having all the fun while I'm stuck here babysitting women, I'm not even getting any pussy. This has to be cruel and unusual punishment.

"I've been chilling. Nothing much but killing a few ants. You were right tho Hakari, someone important was leading the squad sent after me." Kellian said as he found a secluded spot so no one would interrupt him.

"Oh, I wonder who it was?"

"You sure you want to know? This might be very serious."

"The fools have the nerve to dare send a squad after me. They clearly don't know who they are messing with, they need to learn their lesson so they have to pay the price. Tell me who it was Kellian."

"The person who was the leader of the squad was Nen." Kellian plainly said.

"Really...well this is surprising but for some reason, I don't think it is just him alone," I said honestly underwhelmed by the reveal of the leader behind the squad.

Nen was a Prime Disciple of the Immortal Blood Sect, he was a sadistic and ruthless schemer and he was very proficient in soul artes. His soul attacks could kill anyone under godhood. But he would at most be an advisor, never wanting to get in hand-to-hand combat himself so there shouldn't be any reason why he would possibly appear within one of these exterminationsquads, after all these squads are arranged based on the strength of the target and Kellian is ranked among the three strongest out of the seven of us.

This can only mean it was a probe that was part of his scheme. A few days back I told Kellian that it was time for us to go on the offensive and finally have some fun now that I've finally gained strength. Due to that I told him that he should let the squad who was chasing him catch up to him since he was running from them for the past few days since he sensed someone in the Realm of Dao, this was not because he couldn't beat the person but because he didn't know who the person was and that he didn't want to reveal his strength.

But now that it has been revealed that the person who was leading them was Nen I couldn't help but think was he even there for Kellain, to begin with? I mean sure he was there but Kellian let him go according to what he told me which was odd because I never expected him to do something like that.

"Kellian when you let him go, was it because you wanted to see if he would report back and that the sect would send their strongest team to you this time?" I asked as for the life of me I couldn't understand it.

Kellian smiled and shook his head, "Yes and No. I have my own reasons of letting Nen live, reason you will find out soon. But I will say that-"

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Before I could even realize the explosion my body flew from the balcony as I slide to the ground, creating a trial behind me. The shockwave was so huge that the remaining building within a 30-mile radius was completely destroyed. I immediately checked on Lian and the others and was relieved to see they were ok, they were caught off guard and injured a little bit but at least they were alive.

"Hakari, what the fuck was that?!" Kellian shouted over the holocube.

I pulled myself up to my feet and brushed the dust off my robes as I picked up my holocube and looked at the approaching shadows with a frown on my face, "I'll call you back later, it seems that our location has been compromised."

Hanging up the call before he could even respond I froze in shock as I felt an aura that I didn't dare accept burst from the figure leading the squad of members of the Immortal Blood Sect. Orange Lighting slashed off her seductive figure with her brown hair flowing in the wind and her orange eyes gleaming. She was beautiful, one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen in my life. Irani, Mizuki, and Calysto couldn't compare to her, but what made me freeze was the fact that I knew this woman. I knew her very well.

The woman stopped where she was visible to everyone in the area. Her eyes flew past everyone and landed directly on me. The emotions going through her eyes were so fast and jumbled that even I couldn't understand what was going through her head right at this moment. But in the end, she just smiled.

"Hi Hakari, long time no see. Did you miss me...dear?" Asked the woman with an alluring smile.

It was then that I had to accept it. no matter how hard I wanted to deceive myself I knew it was impossible, not when the proof was right in front of me.

"Priya!?"
