3 ch. 3 Rescue

(It gets kinda dark, so I'll give a warning)

----------

Thanks to the joint efforts of Nick and the passengers, the situation was somewhat stabilized except for the crying, painful groans, the near constant flickering lights, and the multiple purple corpses loitering around but besides that every was okay.

The well-trained flight attendants began to appease the passengers and distributed water, blankets and other items to keep moral up

After passing out water and blankets to the rest of the passengers, the brunette flight attendant Claire sat down next to Nick on the floor of the second class cabin with a bottle of water and two packs of crackers. "Here you go, I saved you some crackers"

"Thanks" Picking up the crackers, Nick scarfed down multiple at a time, forcing him to take a drink of water.

Despite it being very short, this life and death battle was extremely draining on Nick's body.

As Nick was opening up the second pack of crackers, Claire looked down at the wall of luggage wall blocking the snakes from entering, and sighed: "They advised me to apply for early retirement, but I just had to fly for one more year. This just so happens to be my last day on the job."

"Hey, atleast you'll have an amazing story to tell once we get out of he-" ~waaahh~

Despite it being quiet, there was a distinctive cry coming from outside the wall. Claire was taken aback, she hurried forward, and tiptoes to get a look outside over the wall of luggage, anxiously saying "I remember a passenger had a baby! I don't see her inside the first class cabin, so she must not have been able to escape in time, the child is still out there! With the snakes!"

Coming to this realization, Claire reach for the wall of luggage wanting to go outside and save it, but thanks to Nick's quick reaction, he was able to stop her in time.

'That baby's probably been bitten already! Unlike adults, that baby has no chance of surviving a snake bite, even if the venom was weak!'

Looking at Nick's stoic face, Clair cried out "Please, save that baby! He is still crying, he must be still be alive! You have to..."

Claire's desperate scream alerted the rest of the passengers to the situation, and they all turned their heads towards Nick, expectantly.

Nick silently sighed desperately at the situation. Nick wasn't a hero, infact he considered himself selfish and would only help others if it didn't inconvenience him.

He had been hurt too many times in his last life not to learn his lesson, and realized that going out of your way to help other is a surefire way to misery. He had become rather cynical on his view of others, and cut out his empathy for others.

However this new identity as an N.I.A. agent is forcing him to play the role of the hero.

Having watched hundreds of hour documentaries and media, Nick knew that the more united the people are the lesser the chances of them causing a problem, atleast that's what he supposed.

'After taking command of these people, i was able to unite them onto one common goal, but the only reason they listen to me is because as an N.I.A. agent, they expect me to be the leader and save everyone. If I refuse to risk my life to save a baby, who is more than likely already bitten, then I'll lose all of my authority and the group will eventually collapse back into chaos.' Standing there, Nick silently weighed his options before let out a sigh.

'I have to try atleast a little to save this baby....' unknownst to Nick, sparks of empathy still burned inside of him

Steeling his heart, Nick said solemnly: "Don't worry, of course I will save the child. Just tell me which seat the passenger with the baby was in."

Hearing about the situation, several flight attendants quickly gathered around to help identify from across the luggage wall for a few minutes. Finally, based on the intermittent crying of the baby, they concluded that the passenger with the baby must've have fled to the back of the commercial cabin in the chaos, around the on board kitchen area.

'Ive been cursed to always attract danger wherever I am, I'll need to quickly get use to putting my life in constant danger just to survive. I don't know how dangerous this world is, but considering that I started off on a plane with hundreds of venomous snakes, I doubt it's peaceful. I need to adapt...'

Putting on multiple thick coats, Nick used duct tape to tape multiple paper magazines onto his legs and arm, making sure no area on his limbs were exposed. Putting on a pairing of working gloves and controlled his snake scales to cover his entire body except his neck and face.

Carrying a fire extinguisher, he turned to the others and spoke "After I go out, you have to pile up the wall quickly. If you see me coming back, open the wall quickly or else I'll just bust through it." As he was walking towards the wall, Nick remembered something and came to a stop.

"If someone cause trouble while I'm away, I will personally make it my life's goal to have you spend the rest of your life behind bars!" From his past life, Nick knew just how easily humans can turn violent when they are scared for their lives.

After all, If a person truly believed that they were gonna die in a plane crash, why should they worry about the consequences of their actions?

After the luggage wall opened, the appearance of the commercial cabin was more clearly exposed to Nick's view

No matter of it was the ceiling, the seats, or the walls, there were poisonous snakes of different lengths and colors everywhere within the commercial cabin.

Under the flickering lights, Nick was able to see the fate of the people who were too late to escape, the dead bodies unmoving, lying on their seats crookedly.

Seeing such a scene, Nick immediately knew something was wrong with himself. Placing his hands over his heart, Nick felt a slow and steady heart rate even after witnessing such a terrifying sight.

'What happened to me? It's like my emotions have been severly dampened?' Unknownst to Nick, a passive affect of the snakes dampened his emotions when he started fearing for his life.

Taking a deep breath, he picked up the fire extinguisher and smasher it into a viper what was block his way as he walked into the commercial cabin.

The people behind did as Nick ordered, and quickly piled up their luggage again to blocked the passage.

After Nick entered the commercial class, he found that the situation was not as difficult as he had believed it to be. The only reason that the snakes were aggressive in the first place was the pheromones on the flower necklaces, but after an hour of reserculating the air throughout the plane, the pheromones were everywhere, making the snakes confused and only attacked target that moved.

Walking through the Isle, a black momba snake striked at Nick from the ceiling, only for it's teeth to bite into a fire extinguisher. Lifting it up, Nick sandwiched the snake between the ceiling and the fire extinguisher until a *splat* was heard. Walking forward, the body of the snake fell to the ground, it's head was squished flat.

'Just yesterday I was an editor editing a videos for a YouTuber, and now I'm killing snakes and saving babies without hesitating. Either I've always been a hidden badass, or absorbing that snake had other affects that I hadn't noticing.' Nick wasnt a genius but he always knew his limits, he knew that he could've never done this in his past life even if he had the same strength as this body.

This realization frightened Nick, that this ability of his could affect his personality and way he thought without him even noticing.

While this did frighten him, Nick could also recognized that it was the sole reason he was still alive in this situation, his past self would've flipped out and hid into a bathroom, probably dying to a snake that climbed out of the toilet.

So in the middle of this life and death situation, Nick finally let go all notions of his past life, and choseto accept his new reality and move on.

Walking forward, Nick had to smash a snake and spray the incredibly cold white foam at the encroaching ones to keep them back, he was halfway through the plane when something reached out and snatched him!

Unconscious smashing downwards he came to a sudden stop when he realized what grabbed him. A slightly blue hand was gripped tightly upon his ankle, desperately shaking.

Looking down, he saw a humongous blue 6'5 tall man who looked like he was on the verge of death. His eyes and nose were bleeding heavily, as you could tell his entire body was shaking in pain.

'The only reason this man is alive, is because he is so huge. I definitely can't carry this man back and even if I did, he will not be surviving the two hour journey back to the ground. I'd only be extending his suffering for 30 more minutes....'

" Sh sh sh, It's okay. I'm going to help you, you wont be in pain anymore....." Reaching down, Nick forced the man's bloody eyes closed as he lifted up his fire extinguisher.

Looking to make sure there was no snakes nearby, or if the passengers were looking...

*Twack* *Crunch*

There was a cracking noise as Nick felt the mans head cave in. Nick felt so disgusted that even the passive ability to dampen his emotions on his mind was counteracted momentarily, but he quickly recovered.

Rolling up his arm sleeve and taking off a glove, Nick removed his snake scale before reaching down and touched the man head and stamping his seconds box.

Starting from the top of his head, the corpse of the man turned into particles and flew directly into Nick's seconds slot

"Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!" Collapsing to the floor, Nick felt an even more intense pain than with the snake, but this time he forced his eyes open. Withstanding the pain, Nick user his extinguisher to smash a snake that was coming his way before the pain eventually stoppedafter 15 second.

'What the- I don't feel like I gained any abilities from the man, but I feel so strong!' Clenching his fist, Nick saw extremely pronounced forearm muscle. Touching his foream, Nick felt like his arm had been replaced with a rock!

While he didn't gain any abilities, Nick's entire body became more than twice as strong. His skin was more durable, his bones had become stronger as he had grown a few inches, his muscle and tendons had become denser, even his internal organs started functioning clearer and more efficiently!

Looking down at his arm, Nick looked saw a featureless human stamped into his second slot. Standing up straight, he felt his hair brush up on the ceiling as he was just short enough to stand up straight after gaining a few inches of height.

Despite being aggressive towards anything coming close, the majority of the snakes stayed away from him, and he wouldn't waste his time fighting a peaceful swarm of snakes unless he wanted to die.

Like this, Nick was able to go through the commercial cabin unscathed, and finally got to the kitchen area. After smashing and spraying multiple venomous snakes in kitchen area with the now empty fire extinguisher, Nick observed his surroundings.

Despite not seeing the baby, he still heard it's suppressed cry still rang. Following his slightly advanced hearing, Nick was able to pinpoint it to one location so he knelt down and carefully opened up a cabinet that contained the noise.

As the cabinet door open, Nick was able to see an asian woman that was covering her child's mouth with her hand, looking at him in horror.

Nick silently cursed at seeing the women, Knowing full well he's gonna have a difficult time bringing her as well. "It's okay, everything is fine. I'm going to get you and your baby out of there just come with me.."

"Thank you...thank you..." Seeing that someone had actually come to save her, the mother couldn't help crying. Hiding in this small and dark kitchen cabinet, only able to hear the snakes hissing and her baby's crying, her emotions had already at an all time high that she almost collapsed in relief at being saved.

She was lucky that she was petite woman, so she could hide inside of the small cabinet. Helping the women get out of the Cabinet, only one thought was resonating through his mind 'How can I take the woman and her crying children safely through the commercial cabin with venomous snakes crawling around?'

A large reason he was able to get here so easily was because he sprayed a lot of the snake with the fire extinguisher, causing them to move away. After he stepped past them, the snake had move back but now they and became agitated, constantly spitting out their tongues and slithering back and forth angrily.

With the fire empty extinguisher in Nick's hand, he looked around in the kitchen area in search of more, but he couldn't see any.

With a deep frown, Nick carefully looked at the small kitchen for anything that could help him, when suddenly, the food cart moved slightly from the plane shifting, giving Nick a sudden realization.

Stepping forward, he dragged the dining cart over, threw off all the plates and the looked inside, before turning to the mother and said, "Come on, see if you can fit inside."

"Huh?" The woman was stunned.
