Chapter 1The Run

I had forgotten to pick my phone up from the dining when I walked out earlier. Hazel is a bunch and it's hard trying to play the cooperating husband. Hell be with a working marriage. I moved back to the dining room but then my gaze caught a sight at the entrance of the kitchen. The voices were inaudible but I could see that Hazel was upset and her dress was drenched. Her hair was not spared. My gaze turned to Isabelle who looks like she was also furious but then she had a little smirk playing on her lips. That bitch.

I wheeled my chair to them and immediately I got there, Isabelle raised her hand to hit Hazel but I caught her wrist, my gaze boring into her as she flinched in fear trying to get her wrist off me. Hazel who had her eyes closed expecting to be slapped open then only to see me holding Isabelle's wrist. She wasn't surprised but she just blinked her eyes multiple times.

My gaze went from her back to Isabelle who was swallowing hard like she would be dying.

"The hell were you trying to do, Isabelle?" I asked, my gaze darkening.

"I was…..I was just…." She stammered not knowing what to say and I tilted my head, a sign for her to go on. Since she wanted to give an excuse then I'm ready to hear it. The fact that she wanted to slap my wife even though I wouldn't have cared about it if not for the working marriage agreement. I wanted to hear that reason.

"I bumped into Lady Hazel and the water in my bowl cascaded her body unintentionally, she got so furious and…." I didn't let her finish.

"Rephrase Isabelle, it wasn't unintentional" I said, my eyes piercing through her skin and her lips quivered.

"It really was, it was my mistake that I bumped into her but it really wasn't intentional" she said and I sighed annoyingly.

"Would you rather I place a CCTV camera in the kitchen because of you?" I asked Isabelle, who almost jumped hearing that.

"No--no sir, I'm sorry, I actually intentionally did it" Isabelle said and I smirked.

She gave the information up the moment I talked about CCTV cameras, if I really place a CCTV camera in the kitchen then she won't be able to carry out her job smoothly like she have always done. The job of spying on me.

She didn't know but I've always been watching the snake's movement, she'd try to snoop on anything concerning me. When Damien and I got to know about her stupid tacky way of spying, we decided to just leave her be and give her the fake information she would deliver to whoever it is put her up to the job. She'd leave the mansion sometimes and meet up with a masked guy who we never got to trace. Anonymous, no fucking information about the guy, for someone so hideous, there was no assurance that he'd tell me anything if I capture and torture him. So I decided to watch her the more.

"Try to raise your hands up against my wife one more time and see if I will let you live" I threatened. It was obvious she doesn't like Hazel and would try to hurt her the more. But I won't let her, not because I am after little kitten's welfare but because I need her for my own plan.

"Oh! Mr. Orlando, thank you, but that wasn't necessary, I never said I needed your help" Hazel who had been quiet all these while dijaky chirped in making me sigh. It was a mistake trying to stand up and defend the foolish her.

"Is that what I get for protecting you?" I asked, with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh! Cut the crap, Mr. Orlando, I would never call you to help me even if I'm dying because you are death yourself!" She said and truly I liked the way she said those words, it felt like music to my ears. She knew she would have to fear me since I'm death according to what she had said.

She walked past me with a scoff but I was quick in pulling her arm back before wrapping my hand around her waist. I eyed Isabelle who was standing watching us with keen interest. Another story to deliver to whoever her backbone is.

"Leave" I spat coldly to her, ignoring Hazel who gasped with the way I drew her closer.

Isabelle left and I faced Hazel who was safely wrapped in my arms. She resisted, trying to wriggle out of my grasp but I didn't let her.

"You haven't had lunch yet, have you?" I asked but she didn't give a response.

"That's none of your concern, food is the least of my worries right now" she said, her voice appearing to be disrespectful and sharp. Damn the agreement I made with her! I would have loved to spank her ass with my belt for talking to me that way.

"Oh! You are worried about Damien? So you can't take lunch because of him?" I scoffed but she didn't give a reply and I took it as a yes; she wasn't willing to eat lunch because of Damien.

My gaze darkened at that realization. "You are mine, Hazel, and you will eat when I tell you to" I said and yes, my voice had that effect on her. She gulped, not daring to disobey.

Still with my hands wrapped around her back, I led her to the dining room drawing a chair out for her to sit and she did.

I also sat down trying to eat since she cut the meal I as having earlier short. Hazel didn't lift the spoon up and I wanted to scold her when a report came from one of my men about Mikhail and Marco making unusual moves. It gave me headache and I left Hazel there retiring to my room.

Fucking Mikhail here, fucking Marco there!!

Will Zara fight the dangers that await or embrace her true destiny? **EXCERPT** "I... didn't want to be late for work. You seemed busy, so I thought I'd get a head start." Snow raised an eyebrow. "Really? Or is it because last night affected you so much that you couldn't stand being around me?" "Don't flatter yourself, Snow. You didn't affect me at all." He smirked, stepping closer. "Is that so?" His fingers brushed my chin, tilting my face up. My pulse quickened. "We're at work," I snapped, swatting his hand away. "This isn't professional." "You're my wife," he murmured. "You're supposed to obey me at all times." I bit back a retort, a hint of rebellion flaring within. Slowly, I stepped closer, letting my fingers graze his chest. His smirk wavered for a second when his wolf reacted and Snow bit his lips. "Careful, Boss," I purred seductively. "Don't hurt those lips. I'm sure plenty of girls would love to kiss them." Snow leaned down, his lips brushing my ear. "And you? Are you dying for a taste?" Caught off guard, I hesitated, then regained my composure as I looked him in the eyes. "Unlike other girls, I have strong resistance against—" I didn't get a chance to finish when Snow's lips crashed onto mine with a fierce kiss that left me breathless. *************** MATURE CONTENT Participating in the Viral Book Call Contest.
