Chapter 68: Her Family.
Laura's POV
I really wanted to see, but I was glad I wasn't allowed. The fact that Xavier had shielded me truly made me glad but I was sure I had seen a familiar figure down there.
It was surely a human I had seen lying there. My head was glued to Xavier's chest with my hands on his chest feeling his breathing, I could tell he was startled too, his breath said it all. What was down there was something terrifying and ominous like I had thought.
Just then, I heard Landon speak, his voice coming above the indistinct chatter of the crowd.
I tried to turn, wanting to face whatever it was that was down there, as I prepared my mind to see a cold dead body like I had predicted but Xavier's hand turned me back to him, not granting me the access of leaving his embrace.
"You aren't looking, Laura" he said, his voice low yet stern at the same time.
