Taiqing, Yuqing, and Shangqing were the Three Pure Realms of Taoism. They corresponded to the three gods, namely Taiqing Heavenly Lord Daode, Yuqing Heavenly Lord Yuanshi, and Shangqing Heavenly Lord Lingbao. From the perspective of formation, Taoism had the saying that " Tao gives birth to one, one gives birth to two, two gives birth to three, and three gives birth to all things." The Great Dao gave birth to all things from the few to the many. After the Dao gave birth to actual substances, the essence of the Great Dao turned into the Three Pure Ones. This was the initial form of all things in the world and the first ancestor of all living beings in the world. Jade Pure, Shangqing, and Taiqing were the different forms of distinction. In terms of status, Heavenly Lord Yuanshi had a higher status in the Taoist immortal system. He sat in the middle of the ranks of the Three Pure Ones, was in charge of the Clan of Enlightenment, and lived in the 35th Heaven. From the perspective of the Heaven he lived in and the situation of accepting disciples, it could be seen that his status was the highest among the Three Pure Ones. Although the Three Pure Ones had these differences, they were all revered as the supreme gods of Taoism. They were the creators of the world and the concrete existence of "Dao". They had an extremely high status in the theological system of Taoism.
In Taoism, there was the concept of the Three Pure Ones. They were the Heavenly Lord Yuanshi of Yuqing, the Heavenly Lord Lingbao of Shangqing, and the Heavenly Lord Daode of Taiqing. Heavenly Lord Yuanshi of Yuqing was the head of the Three Pure Gods of Taoism. He lived in Yuqing Realm and was called the ancestor of the Heaven Realm by the immortals of the past generations. Lord Lingbao of Shangqing lived in Shangqing Realm. In Tao Hongjing's Dongxuan Lingbao True Spirit Position Karma Map, he was in the middle position, second only to Lord Yuanshi. Taiqing Heavenly Lord Dao De (also known as Taishang Laojun or Laozi) lived in the Taiqing Realm."Tai" meant great, and "Shang" meant respect. It had the meaning of being respected by all saints.
Jade Pure, Supreme Pure, and Supreme Pure weren't just one person. They were the three gods revered by Taoism. They were the Heavenly Lord Yuanshi of Jade Pure, the Heavenly Lord Lingbao of Supreme Pure, and the Heavenly Lord Daode of Supreme Pure.
Shangqing, Yuqing, and Taiqing were the highest of the Taoist heavens. They were collectively known as the "Three Pure Ones", representing the three gods, Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun, Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun, and Taiqing Daode Tianzun. This concept embodied the symbol of "Trinity" in Taoist philosophy, which meant that "Tao begets one, one begets two, two begets three, and three begets all things". In Taoist terms, the Three Pure Ones were the symbol of the Taoist theory of "Trinity" and the creators of all things in the world. They were collectively known as nothingness and nature.
In Taoism, the order of the Three Pure Ones was Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun, Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun, and Taiqing Daode Tianzun. This order was usually reflected in the layout of the Taoist temple and its significance to the formation of the world, and there were slight differences in status. The Heavenly Lord Yuanshi had a relatively high status and was regarded as the creator of the universe. He was located in the center of the altar, while the Heavenly Lord Lingbao and the Heavenly Lord Dao De were separated.
In Taoism, Yuqing, Shangqing, and Taiqing referred to the three Taoist gods, Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun, Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun, and Taiqing Taishang Laojun. Mount Sanqing got its name because the three peaks of Yujing, Yuxu, and Yuhua were like the three Taoist gods of Yuqing, Shangqing, and Taiqing sitting on the top of the mountain. Moreover, these three Taoist gods were also worshipped in the center of Sanqing Palace.
The Shang Sect was born in the second year of Xingning in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (364 years). The founder was Wei Huacun, and the master was Tao Hongjing. The Qing Sect worshiped the Heavenly Lord Yuanshi and Lord Taishang as the highest gods. Their main cultivation scriptures were the Great Cave Scripture (also known as the Shangqing Scripture). They used Maoshan as their altar, at the junction of Jurong City and Jintan in Jiangsu Province. Its cultivation method focused on adjusting one's mind and cultivating one's spirit. However, there was less information about the Yuqing Sect. From the only information available, the Yuqing Sect was good at using the power of Yin and Yang in the game. Their cultivation methods were orthodox and had many healing abilities. The disciples were women. The Yuqing Temple in reality originated from the Shang Dynasty and had its own unique historical development. In general, there were obvious differences between the two in terms of origin time, ancestors, the highest god they worshipped, cultivation scriptures, characteristics, and so on.
The Supreme Pure Realm and the Supreme Pure Realm were the Supreme Pure Realm and the Supreme Pure Realm of the Three Pure Realms. The god of the Supreme Clarity Realm was the Supreme Primogenitor Daode (Supreme Elder), who was above the 33 heavens, and the god of the Supreme Clarity Realm was the Supreme Primogenitor Lingbao, who was above the 34 heavens.
Mao Mountain was the birthplace of Shangqing Sect and had nothing to do with Taiqing. The Qing Sect was formed in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It was mainly based on the Shangqing Sutra, the Shangqing Great Cave Sutra, and the Huangting Sutra. It worshipped the female Taoist priest Wei Huacun as the founder of the sect. It took the Heavenly Lord of the Origin and the Supreme Taoist Lord as the highest gods. It emphasized the cultivation of the essence, qi, and spirit in the human body. It paid attention to entering the temple to calm down and remember the image of the gods. It did not focus on refining external elixirs. Its ancestral court was Maoshan, also known as Maoshan Sect.
Maoshan was the birthplace of the Taoist school of Taoism, which had nothing to do with Taiqing.
