Chapter 4

I enter the living room, taking in the sights of multiple machines of various uses, all prepared and ready for my checkup, I greet the doctor, an old, short, and skinny man with gray hair and thick glasses, hiding a pair of eyes with a green + mark in their center, a stereotypical sign of healing in many novels and games, he and my father exchange a friendly greeting, before the man turns to look at me.

"Well hello there Fenrir-Kun, How are you doing today? Your parents tell me you just awakened your quirk, so I rushed over when your father called. My name is Doctor Hiringu. (yes that means healing in Japanese, I'm unoriginal, sue me.) And I will be doing your checkup today, before we start. Does he have any allergies?" he asks, addressing my parents. Who told him no. "Great, now Fenrir-Kun, do you have any problems with needles or drawing blood?" he asks me, Likely worried I wont allow him to do any blood work. A necessary part of quirk analysis.

"No, Hiringu-San, I don't." I see some surprise pass his face, likely both surprised at my formal speech and my reply, although I see some doubt and relief pass his face, likely thinking I'm lying, but thankful I won't cause any problems with the checkup. He begins the process.

He draws a few tubes of blood, takes biometric readings, things like heart rate, brainwaves, blood pressure, etc. and weighs and measures me, the entire process taking no more than 45 minutes as we wait for the results to come in, then we move on to the practical demonstration, showing off my abilities, their limits, etc, there is no technology that can completely Identify everything about a quirk from just a person's Dna or biology, and as such doctors rely on practical demonstrations for quirk analysis, finally, 2 hours after we began the checkup, it was finished, and the doctor returns to us with a serious expression.

"I now understand why you wanted a private checkup, Fenrir's quirk has incredible potential the ability to manipulate his own biology, as well as manipulate energy and space has both incredible versatility and power, his background as your son already makes him an attractive enough target for kidnappings, adding an incredibly powerful quirk on top of that would be dangerous, not the mention the more intelligent criminals would be unwilling to approach him if they don't understand his abilities, so I highly suggest you keep his abilities secret, on a less somber note, he is perfectly healthy, more so than the average child." Obviously I'm more healthy than other children. I had already started editing my genetic code, removing inefficiencies, and vastly increasing both my metabolism and the strength and efficiency of my immune system. I couldn't get sick even if I tried.

My parents thanked Hiringu for his advice, payed him for his time, and sent him on his way, they had already expected to have to hide my quirk, they hadn't gotten to their positions through stupidity, even with the help of powerful quirks, climbing the social ladder in this world takes vast amounts of luck, skill, and intelligence, so they sat me down, and discussed their plans for the future, with me chiming in every now and then, they had long come to trust my intelligence, knowing I had foresight and intelligence unbecoming of my age, as we eventually decided to publicize my abilities as having my mothers quirk, as well as a limited form of my fathers, a believable case, that is both powerful enough to gain respect within quirk supremacy circles, while not compromising my main trump cards.

(an: short chapter today, I had a shitty day, and also had 5 assignments due tomorrow, two of which were essays, I just fucking love procrastination, not only that but I've just been in a shitty mood alltogether, next week I have to go on a week long backpacking trip, this school seems to think that "education" is secondary to mandatory long trips with a bunch of other people you don't know, without access to your phone, music, or anything else to distract me from my intrusive thoughts, its going to be so, much, FUCKING, FUN! I DEFINITELY DONT WANT AN ACTUAL FUCKING EDUCATION! I'm not new to backpacking, I do it with my family in Austria all the time, but at least then I have a degree of independence, trusted to go off on my own and not get myself killed but NOOOOOO, It's a school trip so of course I HAVE to interact with other people, and if I so much as walk around a corner before the teacher I could get reprimanded for running of on my own, it's almost like in a toddler again, something I DEFINITELY APPRECIATE! The sarcasm is literally dripping from my lips right now, my point is, I'm in a shitty mood, Is it a first world problem? Yes. Is my life the worst out there? No. But do I care? No, I am allowed to complain. And I just spent the last 4 ish hours writing papers, doing math, annotating sources, and could really do with some alcohol, so I'm going to go to bed before I do something stupid.)
