Time to Leave

Raizel watched with curiosity as the bluebook hovered in the air before he collected it. He was sure that when he took the book from Luca's bloodied hands; it was an ordinary book. So how did it grow a spiritual sense?

An ordinary book?

Something clicked in his mind. It was indeed an ordinary book but how could it remain ordinary for so long?

He had held the book as he slept for hundreds of years. The jade bed was the core of the entire array, spiritual energy from the surroundings had been absorbed by him and the book he had been holding in his hands.

The ancients say that when a man ascends, his cows and chickens ascend with him. How could an ordinary book not benefit from it? Especially when it is one that was crafted with sturdy, expensive materials.

Raizel sighed, wondering how he could forget to collect Lucas storage ring when he collected the book. Had he been too occupied?

With nostalgia, he flipped open the book intending to read through the thoughts of his junior martial brother. The beginning was not bad, it really wasn't but it began to show him that something was wrong.

~~~~
'That old librarian rudely refused to let me go up to the second floor of the martial pavilion. If it wasn't for the fact that I know he is probably a hidden master, would I have been so polite to him? The joke is on him, I just need to look through the broken and forgotten cultivation techniques on the first floor to find a supreme cultivation technique. When I finally show my potential, I would make him beg me to be his disciple. '
~~~~

Raizel was a little confused. Was Luca dropped on the head as a child? He was eccentric but he had never noticed that he was this crazy.

How would someone think that the broken techniques in a martial pavilion would be a secret supreme cultivation technique or that a librarian was a hidden master?

There was a small tick by the side to show it was completed. If he recalled correctly, Dao Master Wang was Lucas master. Does that mean that he was pretending to be an old librarian? That was impossible. Confused, Raizel just continued to read.

~~~~
'So what if they were born with Wood Dao Seed? Must the sect feed them and wipe their buttocks at the same time? I will surely show Xiao Chen that coward. I can also grow spiritual herbs; I would grow the best herbs, participate in their contest and show him!'
~~~~

If there were three lines on Raizel's forehead, now they were ten. He did not understand the way Lucas mind works.

He looked at the side of the paragraph, of course, it was not marked. Luca had an innate Fire Dao seed. He wanted to compete with them on their ability to grow herbs. What annoyed him is that he had made a vow to complete these tasks for him; he could not afford a backlash now with his cultivation still healing.

'I have been training in the Tempest Mountain Range for over two months. I have not seen any mysterious fairy or a beautiful poisoned female cultivator. Scratch that, I have not seen any woman at all. This cannot be! I must endeavour to play a hero rescuing a beauty. It is the beginning of any harem journey.'

Raizel snapped the book shut and threw it into his storage ring. Out of sight, out of mind. To further remove his mind from the contents of the to-do list, Raizel started to put the final things in the cave in order. He decided it was time to leave.

Raizel pulled out his sword from his ring and closed his eyes with a calm expression on his face. He was sitting upright in front of the cave wall. His body did not emit the slightest bit of aura, even his breathing had stopped. It was as though he had become a statue.

After a while, his aura started to rise till it reached its peak. The incorporeal aura emanated from him emitted heaven-defying pressure. However, this pressure was contained, not leaving a 50-meter circumference.

Raizel's eyes snapped open. The Formless Sword in his hand instantly struck out.

Rumble!

A powerful and awe-striking sword strike descended on the wall. It was neither ferocious nor tyrannical yet it sent immense shivers down one's spine. If you move closer, you will be devoured. You will be completely ripped apart. This was the fifth strike of the formless tribulation sword art.

'Tribulation of Space; Partitioning The Heavens'

The sword strike seemed to desire to slice apart all forms, to cut even the fabric of the universe. The dreadful sword imprint contained Raizel's understanding of both the Dao of space and of course, for those with incredible comprehension and perception, the Dao of the Void.

For to understand the laws of the Dao of the Void is to understand the laws of Space and cultivating the Dao of Space would lead one to the chaotic nothingness of the Dao of the Void.

Their relationship is not that different from the relationship between the Dao of Thunder and the Dao of Lightning. This should be the payment to this land for his wanton usage of its spiritual energy.

He got up and cast a restriction around the entire cave. Even though all can look and comprehend the Dao from his imprint, only those with the bone age of fifty and below can enter. Their cultivation realm did not matter.

Thinking for a while, he changed his hair colour to black and dimmed his eyes. The Great Shrouding art had been a spiritual art that served him whenever he wanted to go incognito.

He moved the Vermillion mark on his forehead to his soles. It would weaken the seal but right now, that did not matter much.

The Great Shrouding art could fool even Dao masters however it could not erase the seal that had been cast on him. His master's attainment on the Dao of Seals was just incredible. If he had passed the second tribulation, he would have been a great Dao Master.

Raizel also had no desire to erase the seal mark. Where will he start to look for materials to create another seal? He did not even have a single spirit stone.

Activating the seal on his feet, he also sealed his cultivation base, reducing it to the late stage of the Dao Flowering Realm. It should be good enough to blend into the crowd. Not too high that it would be noticed but not low enough for him to be ignored.

The next problem now was how to leave the Thousand Herbal forest.

Should he fly? No, how can a Dao Flowering Realm cultivator fly on their own without the help of any tools? Well, if one was a Wind Dao Cultivator, sure, but his attainment on the Dao of the Wind has not even reached the flowering stage, it was still budding. He had always been bad with the Grand Dao of Five elements.

He looked through his storage ring. There was no good flying magical treasure in his storage ring. No, clouds are too high profile. He was only a Dao Flowering Realm expert after all. There is only one way to travel that works all the time.

He fished out a sword from his storage ring. It was a double-edged azure long sword. He channelled his energy into the sword and set off.

The dry deserted forest just made him marvel at the Southern Seven Sword Energy Absorption Array. Perhaps the rumours of it being a lost treasure of the Past Immortal Age was not a total lie.

He arrived at the edge of the Forest and entered the city. Astonishment filled his eyes at the sight of the bustling metropolitan street in front of him and the number of people hustling and bustling about.

His first impression was, 'Too loud.' How could someone meditate or comprehend the Dao in such a loud environment?

His second impression was, 'Too rowdy.' There was no semblance of order. People moved up and down. Strange magical items on the ground made all kinds of noises. It looked like absolute chaos.

His third Impression was, 'Too high.' The sky-high buildings were just too tall like they wanted to reach the heavens.

Raizel noticed that nobody was flying and everybody was on the ground. It seems like this is one of those cities where flying is prohibited so he descended down so as to not cause any trouble.

With his long ink-black hair trailing behind in an elegant arc and his unblemished white robe fluttering gracefully in the wind, Raizel cut a heroic figure as he landed near a large statue.

It was now that Raizel had his fourth impression, 'No manners.' A group of young girls huddled together as they pointed at him while laughing to themselves. They pushed each other as they raised box-like items in his direction. Raizel decided to ignore them.

His eyes caught the statue and he froze.

"Is that me?"

Hope you are enjoying the story. Please tell me what you think.
