"So...what are we doing here?"
The young Ye Jun looked at Nari while sitting on the terrace of a building. It was evening time, and the terrace was dimly lit by a small bulb glowing in a corner.
"Huh?"
Nari looked at him. She was hesitant.
Ever since he left the school after getting suspended, she had met him only twice or thrice. Once was at the funeral of Jung Ji and the other times she came and delivered food to him. But Ye Jun never purposely approached her, and she never felt awful about it. She knew he was having a hard time. Living alone in a vast city without his father, whom he loved the most, she could understand him.
She had called him in the evening to meet him near a supermarket and then she had dragged him to this building, climbing all the stairs. Ye Jun didn't utter a single word and kept following her until they both sat here panting.
"Today...is your birthday." She looked down in her lap.
"So?" Ye Jun was completely clueless.
