As the door frame was smashed open with considerable force, a hideous figure appeared in the doorway. The being had a vast build that brought an oppressive aura with It.
When this force was brought upon the door, Liu Wen was trying to keep it from opening by pushing his arm and body against it, causing his arm to explode with raw pain, his wrist almost dislocated. He couldn't care less about the pain; he threw his kitchen knife at the monster's face.
Then, in the monster's confused state, Liu Wen ran through a broken gap in the wall.
"Wait for me!" The young man, attempting to chase after Liu Wen, was caught by the monster and began screaming. Hearing this, Liu Wen's feet couldn't help but move a little bit faster.
However, despite his efforts, the staircase was formerly destroyed by the monster. Seeing this, Liu Wen's hope of escape vanished.
The young man's screams soon stopped, which meant that the monster had finished feeding and would be coming after him any moment.
Should he jump? Jumping will probably kill him, but not jumping guarantees Liu Wen a horrible death.
"Oh. The stairs are broken." A man, one of four or five people, spoke up. This group is the formed of the occupants of the upper floor. After hearing the noise below, they ran out of the room, even though they thought there was an earthquake.
Although the way down is only three or four meters, the ground below is not safe; horizontal and vertical pieces of wall debris, exposed steel, and other hazards lie below, and if an unlucky resident falls, they will die.
Scattered everywhere is blood, bones and organs, and these sights banished the thought of jumping directly from the building to those close enough to notice.
"Brother, why are you alone? Where are the other people? They can't all have…"
At this point, several people caught up with Liu Wen.
"Huh? What?" Liu Wen saw the situation and subconsciously murmured, "Strange monster… thing…."
"What monster?…"
Dang! Dang! Dang!
The man still wanted to ask his question, but he was interrupted by a loud noise; the walls were smashed.
In the group's sight, a creature thought impossible to exist outside of fantasy appeared.
As he was large enough to need to crouch rather than stand, the beast's arms would cause irreparable damage if they even grazed the walls.
The floor beneath him was filled with cracks and constantly creaked as if the materials making it up were ice beneath an ordinary human.
Facing the fast-approaching monster, the group was petrified from fear and was unable to run away.
Bang! Unable to handle the being's presence, a man fainted and rolled down into the rubble pile, the sound of flesh being impaled and bone being broken sounding at the collision.
People were more likely to die of being skewered by metal rods and sharp rubble than from the fall.
"Jump! Falling to death is better than being eaten by a monster!" At these words two more people jumped into the rubble pile, wailed in pain, and ran outside.
At this time, Li Feng swooped over before the rest had time to jump, threw a person into his mouth, and began to chew.
No matter how they struggle, Li Feng's strength grinds them to dust.
The monster's feast made the rest of the group terrified, as they were like rabbits trapped by a tiger, only able to watch their numbers whittled away, unable to offer a meaningful struggle or escape.
However, there are still several people who are hesitating between jumping or not.
Of the few people who came down from upstairs, only Liu Wen and a man remained, as the rest had been eaten.
"Now what to do?!" The man asked Liu Wen a question, but Liu Wen was too petrified to register it.
Snapping out of his trance, Liu Wen pushed the man in the direction of the monster and jumped down, falling to the stairway below. Then, after he was stable on his feet, he hurriedly ran out.
"NO! DON'T!" The man's screams behind him made him even faster.
Soon, Liu Wen reached the front door, opening it in a panic, and ran into the alleyway. Unfortunately, his arm has been crippled, and he is forced to use the other hand to hold the injury. The other parts of his body have various injuries on them as well, and blood stained his clothes.
He could only move by limping. He desperately ran, looking to reach the alley's exit, but just when he thought he was about to escape, the third floor window shattered.
The monster jumped out, standing firmly in the alley, with a body in his hand.
Li Feng grinned, ignored the other party's actions, picked up the corpse in his hands, chewed on it, and swallowed it.
Just as Liu Wen was about to run away, Li Feng began sprinting towards him with large strides.
A lightning bolt flew through the sky, the bright white light from it reflecting in jie face, exposing the rain flowing down Li Feng's brick-like muscles and scarlet grin.
The dried bloodstains on his body began washing away; it dripped to the ground and flowed throughout the entire street.
Large hands fell onto Liu Wen.
