32. New Neighbourhood

As we three made our to the dining room my eyes continued to wander around the hallways we passed by. I was simply mesmerized by the look of the house. As I continued to look around we finally reached the dining hall. It was very simple, it had a long table enough for six people with some chairs to sit on.

All were already seated in places and some people with Narumi-san were keeping the dishes on the table and by the looks of it, it was a feast. I sat down with Sora and Meiko on the chairs ready to eat. We started to eat the food and it was really good. We all ate in silence and after eating we all made our way to the main room.

I slowly went towards Narumi-san and sat beside her near a window and asked, "Oba-san, are these many people always here."

She noticed I was beside her and said, "No, Rei today there are these many people are here because we came. So they are helping us to sort things out. Are you feeling uncomfortable Rei?" she asked me with a worried face

I shook my head and assured her, "No, Oba-san I am fine. It's just that many people seem to be working here."

She then breathes a sigh of relief and said, " No Rei you misunderstood something. These people don't work here. They help Otou-san as I am not present here to help him. This is their way of showing gratitude after my dad helped them in the time of need."

I nodded my head and turned back to her as I have another doubt. So I asked her, "Oba-san I have another question. Is it true you, Oji-san and Otou-san were friends since childhood." I had this question since the old man said it. I knew dad and Shirogana-an were friends but I never knew he was also friends with Narumi-san.

She just looked outside the window and smiled. She then turned back and said, "Yes Rei, me and your dad were childhood friends. I met him when I was around at your age back in Tokyo. We played to whether and he ate in our house too everyday. We both were like brother and sister. Then Shirogana became a best friend in Highschool and played baseball together."

So Narumi-san and dad were very close. I could see she misses Otou-san by the look of her face. I then turned my head to see the living room. The living room was also simple. There were just some simple couches. It was enough for all the people to sit and there was a big tv on the wall. The whole family was talking with each other. After some time Shirogana-san along with Narumi-san and Shidou-san went back to their room to rest as they were tired.

But before going Shirogana-san came towards me and said, "Feel at home Rei. This is where you are going to live for a long time along with Narumi and the kids. Tomorrow we will both go towards the Psychologists for your dreams and how you feel while playing baseball. Ok."

I nodded my head. Seeing me nodding he smiled and went away to rest as he was driving the whole way. Only me, Meiko and Sora were left inside the room. Meiko came towards me and said, "Come Rei lets go to the park. We will show you the way."

I nodded and she went to Narumi-san who was going towards her room and asked, "Okaa-san we three will go to the park and come after a while."

Narumi-san looked at me and Sora and nodded. She didn't forget to remind us, "Be careful kids and come back early." We three nodded and went out.

We slowly went towards the park and some people even came and greeted both the siblings. It took some time to reach the park, but the distance was similar back in Tokyo. I noticed the park was pretty big and a lot of kids were playing with their parents. We three then just went and sat on a bench.

I asked the two, "Many people seem to know who you both are."

They both nodded and Sora told me, "Yes, we both come here for every summer so we meet them."

I nodded understanding. We three then continued to talk for a while about random things. We talked about the new school we will be entering and how everyone is around here. We then noticed that the sun was setting and started to make our way back to the house. We then reached the house and went inside. We noticed that the old man, Narumi-san and Shirogana-san were talking.

We then entered the hall and Narumi-san said, " You three go and take a bath."

We nodded our heads and made our way towards our rooms. I remembered there was no Bathroom in the room so I asked them. They said that the old man only has two bathrooms one for females and the other for males so we should take turns to a bath. So I decided to take a bath ahead of Sora. I took my clothes and went towards the bath according to the directions given by them.

The two baths were beside each other. So I made my way in and the bath was like a modern one. It had a tub, a sink everything there was back at home. I took a bath and went outside after changing my clothes and saw Sora waiting for me. He then went inside and I kept the old clothes in a tub which was in the middle of the two bathrooms and went to my room. After the three of us took a bath we went to the dining to eat. This time it seems like it was only Narumi-san who prepared the dishes. We all ate and went back to our rooms to have a good sleep.
