Chapter 11. The Beginning

( THIRD PERSON POV )

<THUD> <THUD> <THUD>

There can be seen three people in the light rain pouring down in a small park. One can see that they were one adult and two kids around the age of 10. One was sitting on a large pipe by the side and another running on the mud, trying to catch a ball thrown by the adult. The boy sitting on the pipe was murmuring, "How long are these both going to continue playing, it's already been 3 hours and the rain also started pouring lightly".

He wandered his eyes around to see if there was anybody left in the park and notices everyone went back home. He turns around and shouts, " HEY! GUYS, I THINK IT'S BETTER TO STOP FOR TODAY" Sato Izumi. Izumi was a normal boy who was dragged into this situation by his best friend and his father.

The boy with the glove who heard this turned to look at his best friend and shouted back, "HEY! SATO WAIT FOR A FEW MORE MINUTES" Toujou Rei. Rei was a very normal and boring student, but for baseball, he was very enthusiastic and carefree.

Then the adult who was standing by and seeing this finally noticed the rain and told, "Hey! Rei I think Izumi is right and we should head back home."Toujou Tensei, who was the father of Rei.

Seeing his father also supporting his friend, he looked down and grumbled, "But we just came here and won't be back here for another 3 days, let's play some more".

Tensei notices his son whining. So, he puts a hand on his head and ruffled his hair and said, "It's ok kiddo. Next time I'll take you to the batting cages alright."

Hearing this, Rei instantly became happy and nodded and started running towards his friend to take an umbrella from him. He then tells him that, "Ok, Let's go, Izumi, it's getting late."

Seeing his friend finally accepting it, he jumped down from the pipe and gave him 2 umbrellas and started walking along with him.

Seeing the two of them behaving like this, Tensei let out a slight smile and followed them back home. The 3 of them then slowly started going home and suddenly they heard a grumbling sound.

Hearing this both Izumi and Tensei looked towards Rei who was holding his stomach in embarrassment and looking down. So then Tensei decided and told the boys, " Let's go to a diner and have something." Hearing this both of them instantly became happy and nodded their heads furiously.

Upon reaching the diner, all three of them ordered curry. Both the father and son ordered an extra spicy one while Izumi ordered a mild curry. Then seeing that there was time until they received their order, Rei looked towards his friend and asked Izumi, "Hey Izumi, why don't you play baseball more than you have a powerful arm and are also tall".

It's true, as Rei told Izumi has a powerful arm for his age and is one of the tallest in his grade, but he is also uninterested in a lot of things. Hearing his friend's question, he thought for a while and answered back," It's just too much work". But in all truth, he liked to play the sport and knew his body was fit for it but he did not have the right motivation.

Hearing his friend's reply Rei got sad and looked down and by this time their order came and they ate. Seeing how both the father and son were completely immersed in the food even though it was spicy left Izumi amazed. He then ate his food.

After paying for the food, all three of them continued towards their home beside each other. Upon reaching him, they told Izumi bye whose house was right beside his and entered inside.
