A sudden impact and a loud noise of something heavy hitting the ground woke him up out of his stupor.

'What the... What's with this weird headache... And why's it so wet all of a sudden?' He mentally sighed as he grasped his forehead in pain.

But unfortunately, he was unable to complete the action considering he couldn't even move.

'Wha...?' He flailed around helplessly, trying his damn best to move any part of his body.

But it proved to be a fruitless endeavor as the gelatinous substance that covered him from head to toe acted like a set of steel chains, preventing him from making any moves, literally.

'Okay, Okay... Calm down... You probably got kidnapped, and someone's trying to harvest your organs like you're a potato patch...' He said to reassure himself with a sensible conclusion.

'Resisting is futile and trying to get out of my chains would go nowhere, so I better just try to overhear anyone talking...' That was how it usually goes in these types of scenarios... At least in the movies, that is.

He waited.

And waited..

And waited...

But no one came.

'Ah, they left me for dead... How heartless~!' He hissed the last part in annoyance. Getting your organs harvested was way better than dying of starvation!

Well... He would probably die of boredom before any type of malnourishment got to him...

'...'

'...'

'...'

Damn, he had waited for probably a few days by now and he still wasn't hungry! His previous bold statement would probably be proven true if this continued...

But still, there was absolutely nothing to do and he tried to get out again, but it proved to be more pointless than Sisyphus's whole legend.

More days passed, and he was getting irritable, probably developing a screw loose by now...

Somewhere between a month and an eternity had passed. He lost count by the 9th day. The solitude and lack of activity were getting to him...

He tried resisting again, it was pointless.

He tried to escape, it was pointless.

He tried to scream, but he had no mouth and it would still be pointless even if he could.

He tried it, he tried everything, everything, everything he could do whilst trapped inside this... this thing!

But...

it. Was. Pointless.

Sisyphean even.

A few songs were sung as he tried to distract his mind.

A few jokes were made.

A few dozen improvised stories were written and revised.

An enormous collection of movies that would impress even the most die-hard of nerds were watched over and over again.

But there was nothing, and he couldn't even see, so they're was only his mind to accompany him.

"You alright there, bud?" Natsume asked with concern.

"Yeah, you've been getting weird lately, what's up?" Kanata stated.

"Nah, don't worry... It's just the boredom. I mean, isn't school getting a bit monotonous these days?" He said to reassure his two good friends.

"It's just always been like that, so stop acting weird!" Natsume rebuffed with an audible snort.

"Hey, stop bothering him, Kengo-san... He might just get weirder, you know" Kanata said as he crossed his arms.

"Pfft~! Yeah, your probably right, Hahaha!" Natsume laughed as he left the conversation.

Sigh~ Such good friends...

Kengo Natsume, the Class Jock who always acts out to get the attention his parents never gave him.

Ooshima Kanata, the guy who everyone thinks is gay for some reason but denies it vehemently as if he were accused of being a serial killer.

These two were his best friends, his ride or die, his companions that stayed even after he got in this egg.

Yeah, he figured out he was in an egg. He wasn't an idiot or anything of the sort.

Though Natsume would beg to differ on the matter, still he wasn't one.

"So how does this egg have enough room for all of us, anyway?" He asked his friends...

But no one came.

He wanted to cry, but he had no tears to shed...

'Get me out of here!!!' He shouted with no mouth.

'Please, get me out!!!' He screamed with no throat.

'Just please... please... please-'

'Please- Hah!' His pleading was abruptly interrupted by a melodious yet robotic female voice resounding in his mind, which felt oddly familiar for some reason.

'Wait what!? Uh... Eh... Urgh...' He mentally grunted a few times as he tried to process the information that was suddenly shoved into his brain.

'Was that... was that some kind of notification' It obviously was, though it sounded like one that would appear in a video game...

Wait... Had he been reincarnated?

'No shit, Sherlock' He sent a mental curse to his deceased ancestors as he felt a bit silly about how he hadn't realized this earlier... Natsume was probably right in calling him an idiot all the time.

'But how did I die...?' He didn't feel any trauma, so the death must have been instantaneous, and he certainly didn't remember any trucks...

'I was in the class, right... Oka-sensei just entered the classroom from her bathroom break... That one girl was dozing off to dreamland... Shinohara was just about to harass Wakaba again, that bitch... and...' He thought as he tried his best to recall the events.

'...A light? I remember that there was a sudden light and then all I could see was white... Then I woke up here... Was it an explosion? a gas leak?' He hypothesized.

'No way, right?' He concluded, no way was it an ordinary explosion... He had been reincarnated after all! there's no way that magic wasn't involved...

'A magic explosion, then?' Probably, but there was no way to check the facts, so he returned back to the present.

'Let's see... Greed, a Skill... If we go by video game logic, then this must be a type of ability and or move I could use... What does it do?' He asked the voice.

It did not respond.

'Hmm, not the talkative type are we... a shame, maybe you could have been one of my friends, Voice-chan~' Huh, he really wanted to kill himself.

'Appraisal... Judging by its name, it should be an analyzing type of ability... What if I use it on myself?' The moment those thoughts entered his brain, a screen appeared in front of him (in his mind).
