Ch 6

So, from now on, Dan will go to Bob's bakery every afternoon to deliver 4kg of frosting and get 4000 beri.

Which will help increase his earnings to 43,000 beri per week.

'Things I do for money.'

Just like that, two more weeks passed with Dan trying to earn money, and the only good thing that had happened was his frosting business was doing well and making him lots of money since he had upgraded his stamina twice for 19,000 Beri.

With his new (F- rank) stamina, he was able to produce at least three times more frosting than before, so his weekly income has again increased to 99,000 beri.

This is good enough for an ordinary person to live happily in any city in this world for a month. Still, he is just trying to gather enough money to get all his stats to at least D rank and a good quirk while learning about sailing and other things required to sail in the sea.

"Hey, Dan, are you listening?" one of his co-workers said.

"huh, sorry I spaced out for a bit, so what were you saying, Henry?"

Henry said, "I said that the Ken merchant group just came back to town," while others also stared at him for his reaction.

This freaks Dan out a bit, and he says, "Why are you all looking at me like that? I don't know this Ken group or something."

One of his co-workers, Marcus, said with a surprised tone, "Wait, so you don't know them. Does that mean you are not leaving with them?"

"What, no, why would I even leave this island now, especially with a group I know nothing about?" Dan replied in a confused tone.

"Why did you ask this type of question?"

Henry replied with a shrug, "It is just a thing, man. Whenever Ken returns to the island, most people saved by Miss Daisy follow him to the sea to search for better opportunities or return to their home island, so I thought you would do the same."

"Oh! You don't have to worry about it, 'cause I will not leave without saying goodbye to my friends," Dan said with a grin.

"Just so you know, Dan, this is not the first time we have heard these from some that leave with them in the end without telling any of us."

Dan chuckled as if he had heard something funny before replying, "Don't worry, I won't."

'I already left a group of friends without saying goodbye.' Dan thought before he thought about this merchant group.

'Ken merchant, if they keep returning to this island every two months, then I could use them as a ride to get off this island the next time they return,' Dan thought, as he knew that in the next two months, he would be ready to begin making his way in east blue as a bounty hunter.

As for why he chose to become a bounty hunter, well, it is the easiest and fastest way to earn massive amounts of money if you are good at it, and money is the only thing he needs to reach the top of the world.

At night

Dan was in his room, doing his weekly ritual of putting a big part of his salary in inventory, so he could use it later to spin or increase his stats.

'System, store this 60,000 beri,' Dan said as six notes of 10,000 beri disappeared from his hand.

Dan clenched his hand as his hard-earned money disappeared into the system's endless mouth.

'So, how much beri do I have, System?' Dan asked, wanting to know the amount of his current savings.

[141,489 beri]

'Well, that's a lot for just two weeks of work.' Dan thought happily after looking at the amount he had saved.

'Now, let's spend it,' Dan thought before giving the system command to increase all his stats to F- rank.

[95,000 beri will be deducted to raise five stats to F- rank]

[Are you sure]

'Yes, let's do it, system.'

[Increasing all stats]

A warm current again appeared as it started to spread in his body before that warm current turned into boiling lava and began to burn in from inside.

"Fuc..." Before Dan could even complete his words, he fell unconscious because of the pain.

While Dan was unconscious, his body began to move through the cycle of breaking and repairing as all his muscles and bones breakdown or tore before healing, becoming more robust as the process continued till they raised to a certain level.

[Process complete, all stats are F- rank now]

The following day, Dan woke up feeling refreshed in ... a creepy wooden cell with his hands and legs tied in chains.

'Wait, how did I get here?' Dan thought with a panicked expression on his face as he tried to free his hands and legs, but it was in vain the chains didn't bulge.

But after the initial panic had passed, Dan calmly looked around the place to find anything that could tell him where he was.

'Crates and barrels everywhere around, wooden walls, three small cells with rusted iron, and a slight tremor every now and then,' Dan counted the things he was able to find, which weren't much. Still, it was enough for him to know that he was on a ship and a rather big one.

'So, whose ship could it be, a pirate group? It is possible they attacked at night, and I didn't wake up due to that painful stats upgrade, but then they wouldn't take me as a slave. They will surely capture some females, so perhaps it is because of my frosting business, as I did step on some toes to make it this profitable.' Dan thought while looking at any possible way he could escape.

He doesn't know why, but after that initial panic, he is somewhat calm about the situation, like it is not a big deal that someone has captured him.

Maybe it is because he knows he could somehow escape this place or wherever they send him. It could also be because he decided to follow a profession that involves killing people daily to get money.

'Who knows which one it is?' Dan thought before turning his attention to the system.

'I still have some money left in my inventory. I was going to use it for quirk spins, so why not simply do it while waiting for my kidnapper to come and tell me what happened?' Dan thought while hoping he would get some good quirks this time.

'System, how many spins will I get with how much beri?'

[Five spins in total, one 1000 beri spin, and four 10,000 beri spins]

[After that, the remaining amount will be 5,489 beri]

'Okay, spin it five times.'

[Spinning...]

"Ao ao," Dan utters as his nose suddenly starts to restructure and increases by two inches from his previous size.

[Extra arms (quirk): you have one extra on each side, making you a four-arm person.]

"Ahhhh!" Dan screamed in pain as one extra arm popped out on each side below his previous hands.

"It fucking hurts!"

[Tailwhip blade (quirk): A tail with a blade on the tip that is sharp enough to cut steel easily]

Dan didn't suffer from the pain this time as his tailbone enlarged, and a brand new tail with an extremely sharp blade tip became part of his body.

"Okay, now I look like some sort of human chimera monster," Dan muttered as he looked at his body. A weirdly long nose, two extra arms, and a tail with a blade. So sure he looks extremely weird.

"Oh! So, now I am also invisible. Well, this way is probably better, as no one will see this horrifying scene."
