A man screamed as glowing green vines wrapped around his body and his head. Before he could beg for help, the vines quickly carried him up in the air. The glow from them slowly gathered into the man's body. The vines covered his muffled screams as his skin glowed brightly. Then his skin slowly and painfully burned away.
Below, Shyla's eyes glowed green as she looked at the men that were coming near her and the carriage. The men looked at her in fear as they quickly backed away from her. Shyla smirked at them as the vine disappeared, dropping her victim in the process.
The men were going to turn to run until a strong blast of ice and snow hit their backs. Some of them hit the ground while others were frozen from their spot. Some were impaled by large ice shards, slowly dying on the spot.
Shyla looked over to Eden as he killed more men with the slash of his sword or froze them with the power of her ice. His eyes glowed brightly as he froze more men in his place.
She looked over to Kanene, who was at the front of the carriage, pushing two men with a light bronze magic shield. They hit the ground with a thud unaware that Kanene was picking up her swords again. The two men noticed too late as Kanene thrust the swords into their chests.
Then she looked at Ten, who was at the left side of the carriage. He had two men in a huge ball of dark water while strangling the others with dark water tendrils. She couldn't see it but she was pretty sure he had a look of glee. She does hear the kid's laughter.
Sighing, Shyla quickly took out another arrow as she looked at the carriage. She really hoped they were in there. She nearly had a panic attack when she saw Akeem walking out of the woods exhausted and bloody.
How did he get to that state? He had no clue, he was usually much more alert than that.
Thankfully, she did feel a small hit of healing magic coming from the carriage which made her relax a bit. 'Our lady healed the prince. That's good. He will probably be alright.' Shyla thought with a sigh.
A sound alerted Shyla causing her eyes to glow. She gets ready to shoot her arrows as she points at the trees.
She had no time to be relieved. She needed to protect both of them and get to safety.

"Wait? You're the Prince."Abidemi said as she looked up at the man before her. She swallowed heavily as Akeem smiled warmly at her. "The Prince of Elov."
"That's me." Akeem said while watching her. He noticed her tensed shoulders and the way she was pressed up against the carriage wall. "You have nothing to worry about. I assure you."
"Why are you here? Why aren't you at the palace or the ship?" Abidemi asked him.
Akeem blinked at her before saying. "You guys were taking a bit too long." he said simply. Abidemi blinked at him as he said those words. " You were supposed to be at the docks an hour ago."
"An hour." Abidemi whispered. Akeem nodded his head. Abidemi looked at him oddly, "You are here because we were an hour late."
Akeem smiled. "Ten is always on time. He doesn't like it when he's late."
"Oh." Abidemi whispered as she stared up at him. Akeem looked at her as she shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. "Can you stop looking at me like that?"
"But you looked so tense." Akeem said.
Abidemi narrowed her eyes at Akeem. "Please be aware of the situation that we're in."
Akeem blinked as he listened to the screaming coming from outside. He laughed a bit when he looked at her sheepishly. "Oh. You're not used to this."
"Nope. Not at all." Abidemi said while she glared up at him. "I could count on one hand how much this happened to me. Each time was worse than the last." Abidemi looked away from Akeem as clenched on her dark blue dress. "Kanene taught me self-defense in case it happened again."
Akeem nodded his head as he looked at her. "I'm sure it will be over soon. Those four are very strong."
Abidemi blinked and looked at Akeem. "How do you know that?"
He was going to answer until the carriage door opened up. Shyla let out a sigh of relief as she yelled. "He's alright. Our Lady healed his stupid butt."
Akeem's eye twitched as Abidemi raised an eyebrow at Shyla's words. "Stupid?!"
Akeem sighed. "Do you really have to call me stupid, Shyla?"
Shyla looked at Akeem with a flat expression. "Who's the one that came all the way here despite being exhausted and not sleeping all night? When he should've stayed on the ship and gotten some rest! Then he comes from the woods with two stab wounds."
"You guys were taking too long and there were more of those guys right ahead!" Akeem said. Shyla looked at him with a dead expression. Akeem laughed nervously. "Please stop looking at me like that, you and Kanene are too hard on me."
"There's a reason for that, Keem. A damned good reason."Shyla said with a frown. She let out a sigh before looking at the woods. Then she looked back at Akeem and Abidemi. "Look, Ten had to call in for more backup. We'll have to wait here for a while longer."
Abidemi blinked. "A while longer?" Shyla nodded her head.
She smiled warmly at Abidemi. "It's not too bad. We took care of almost all of the guys here. Just rest easy with Prince Reckless." Abidemi only slowly nodded her head as Shyla closed the door.
Abidemi swallowed and looked at Akeem who was now sitting on one of the carriage seats. He pat on the seat next to him as he smiled warmly at her. "Sit next to me."
Abidemi shook her head as she moved to sit on the other side of the carriage. "I'm fine right here." Abidemi looked away from him. "I just met you and we hardly know each other."
Akeem frowned before he sighed. "Yeah. You're right about that." Abidemi and Akeem were quiet for a while before Akeem spoke up. "We could get to know each other."
Abidemi arched an eyebrow at Akeem. "Now? In this situation?"
Akeem smiled at her. "Would you rather sit here quietly and wait?"
Abidemi shook her head. " No." she whispered as she looked at Akeem.
Akeem leaned against the seat and smiled. "See. How about we ask some questions? You could ask me anything."
Abidemi cocked an eyebrow at him. "Anything?" Akeem nodded his head as she watched him. "Okay. Why do you want me to be your crown princess?"
Akeem blinked at Abidemi. "Ah. Eden told you huh." Abidemi nodded her head causing him to sigh. " There are many reasons. Your powers are one of them but it's not the main reason."
Abidemi narrowed her eyes at Akeem. "Then what's the main reason?"
Akeem blinked at Abidemi before smiling at her. "You really wanna get to the point, huh."
Abidemi frowned. "Well, you wanna marry me? I just wanna know why."
Akeem sighed as he looked the other way. "I'm not quite ready to tell you that." Akeem rubbed the back of his neck. Abidemi looked like she wanted to ask but stopped when she noticed his uncomfortable smile. She sighed as she looked out the window. "You could ask another question."
Abidemi looked at Akeem. "How do you know Shyla and Kanene?" Akeem flinched from the question. Abidemi narrowed her eyes at him. "Another question you can't answer?"
"No, I could answer it. I was hoping later. When we're on the ship."Abidemi twisted her lips as she leered at him. "It's a long story. It will take some time to explain."
Abidemi arched an eyebrow as she crossed her arms. "How long?"
"Just a long one. If anything it's best for Kanene and Shyla to explain." Akeem said to her. "Even though I knew about it and agreed on it." Abidemi only watched him. "How about I ask a question?"
Abidemi hummed. "Go ahead."
Akeem swallowed heavily. "What do you think of me?"
Abidemi frowned. "I think you're a reckless prince that should really look out for his own wellbeing." Akeem smiled at her. " What kind of crown prince are you? You didn't bring any guards with you or anything?"
"I had my Shadows." Akeem said.
Abidemi narrowed her eyes at Akeem. "Your Shadows."
Akeem smirked. " They're something like guards. There will be times when I won't need my normal guards so much. Like when I'm here in Valtis."
Abidemi arched an eyebrow at Akeem. "Is Ten one of your Shadows?"
Akeem nodded his head. " Yeah. He is a damn good one. He'll also accompany you a lot once we get to the capital." Abidemi twisted her lips as Akeem noticed. "Something the matter?"
"Am I going to be living in the palace?" Abidemi asked him. Akeem shook his head no. Abidemi wanted to laugh, he looked like a wet dog drying his hair. "So I could live where I want?"
Akeem slowly nodded his head. "Even though Ten will probably also be living with you and a few guards. All women by the way."
Abidemi bit her lips. "I don't know Ten very well."
Akeem laughed a bit. "He's not too bad. Sure he could be odd at times but that's just the way he is."
Abidemi frowned. "What if…I bother him?"
Akeem laughed nervously and looked the other way. "Compared to me, you'll be a breath of fresh air."
"Your Highness. Do you give your Shadows unneeded stress?" Abidemi asked as she watched him. Akeem just looked the other way as she shook her head. "You do. Don't you?"
Akeem looked as if he was going to deny the whole thing until the door opened up. This time it was Ten. He faced Abidemi first. "Don't worry, Lady Abidemi. We'll be moving in a few minutes. I fear those punks killed our coachman so we had to wait for a new one."
Abidemi blinked as she nodded her head. "Okay. I understand."
Ten nodded his head before he faced Akeem. " Now, you. What the heck were you thinking?"
"That you guys were taking too long." Akeem said to Ten.
Abidemi could hear a sigh from Ten. She smirked as she covered her lips with her hands." We would've been fine. I was watching over her. Also her brother. Kanene. Shyla."
Akeem laughed a bit. "I know. I know."
"And you still came, why?" Ten trailed off. Akeem shrugged as he looked at Abidemi. Abidemi swallowed heavily from the look in his eyes.
There is a hint of fear in them. Why would he be afraid?
Akeem looked away from her before he smiled at Ten. "Do you really have to ask that, Ten?"
Ten muttered some words before shaking his head. "I'm telling the king and queen this."
With that, Ten closed the door causing Abidemi to look at Akeem who was just sighing. "So you do give him trouble."
" Well, not much trouble. There are times that I'm good." Akeem said to her. Abidemi narrowed her eyes at Akeem. 'Don't believe me."
"Judging, by the way Ten sighed at you. No. I don't." Abidemi said while she watched Akeem. He laughed. "I don't know how this is so funny. You really don't need to give him much-added stress."
"Don't worry. I usually don't give Ten much trouble." Akeem explained.
Abidemi arched her brow at Akeem. "But you do cause trouble for others."
Akeem laughed as he looked sheepish. "Umm. Yeah." Abidemi rolled her eyes. "What about you, Lady Abidemi? Do you cause trouble for people?"
"Depends what you call trouble. Kanene and Shyla could tell you the times they have to talk me out of many things that would get me in trouble. Or you ask Eden about the times that me, Daisy, and he got ourselves in some situation. Me and Daisy more than him. " Abidemi said to Akeem.
Akeem was going to ask what until the carriage door opened up. This time it was Eden. He looked at Abidemi before looking at Akeem. Then he shook his head before taking a seat next to his sister. Akeem laughed. "What is that for?"
Eden looked at Akeem. "You're crazy. That is all I'm saying." Eden then looked at Abidemi with a smile. "Alright."
Abidemi nodded her head. "I'm fine."
Eden frowned at her. "Did you use too much magic?" Abidemi only shook her head.
"Should I be tired? I mean my power level is unlimited in each class."Abidemi mentioned.
Eden sighed. "It was your first time using magic like that. Especially healing magic." Abidemi furrowed her eyebrows as her brother sighed. Eden gave her a small smile. "I'm just worried."
Abidemi smiled at her brother. Then the carriage started to move again. Abidemi let out a sigh of relief. She looked over to Akeem, his arms were crossed and his eyes were closed. She swallowed heavily.
She can't wait to get out of here.
