I love the amount of details during the gamble. Even though it took a few chapters to cover. But I think it's important to the story plot such that it adds a realistic point of view of what makes us human. Human by nature are curious creature, but we are also very greedy. Only a few are able to control that. I love how the author shows the danger of wanting more (greed) using gambling as the beginning centerpiece to the story. While reading, I feel the emotional and physical toil that jose feel. It's very personal. Yes, even if you have a job it's doesn't guarantee one's success. As for boss yanlei, damn, I wanna smack so bad! I really hate him! The author did a good job in making his character (thump up) However, with the main character being Allaine Monillas I feel like not much of him is being shown yet. But the first few chapters so far does set a good foundation (setting) for the plot. Will be expecting more of him in the next coming chapters.

The novel is from the psychological type, just my cup of tea. The author spends time to unravel concepts and explain how "misfortune" accumulates in one's life - which also can expand beyond and catch in its web other victims. One can think of consequentialism. This is a very realistic story. People may see it as slow-paced, but I'd like to say that good stuff comes slow. (; The only thing I dislike is the overuse of exclamation marks.

Hmm..the title itself is intriguing, I'm not like other readers who just don't read the novel because of titles or covers. When I read the first chapter, I had a hunch that this novel will show how poor live, like how they struggle day to day to make their quality of life better. Well If I have to say about writing quality, I think the writer should edit it a little. Its not like readers cannot entirely understand what the novel's words are trying to convey but it is not attractive enough. As for the story development thus far, it has been a nice read. There were some chapters which really made me think about people's lives. Character design? Awesome. The description of how Allaine struggles from the bottom of the society to a rich man is good. Overall a 4.4 star review by Archwriter.

My honest review of the story so far. (Chapter 39) Writing Quality: Below average It started off pretty amazing. I have to say the introduction was fantastically written. The writer must have worked really hard and gotten many references for its superb introduction. However, due to the beginning being so good, as you read past that, the terrible grammar that comes afterward becomes incredibly glaring. hopefully, the good introduction helps keep the readers from turning away. Personally, it's very difficult for me to read a story when I can't help noticing the mistakes. The main thing to work on is probably the usage of present and past tense. Grammar mistakes are abundant of course. Also, for some reason, the writer always write the 'i' for 'its(it's)' in capital letters. It bothers me. Stability of Updates: Five stars all around! It could be fast or slow, I'll give full marks. Personally, I am a quality over quantity type of person. So if posting fast updates compromises your quality, i think it's better to go at your own pace so that you're actually satisfied with what you write. :) Story Development: Great The story's pacing is actually quite good. they give you time to understand the characters properly before jumpstarting all the action. Thus we as readers are able to emphasize with their hardships more. Character Design: Excellent I surprisingly like how the author wrote the story on the main lead. He feels like he has a lot of depth. There are many layers to his character, reasons for his aspirations, and believable obstacles to achieving them. I love a story of characters straying from the main path so it's a big plus as well. World Background: Good While it's not fantasy or cultivation, it's a realistic world that is closer to home. set in the poor area of the Philippines, it gives us readers an eye-opening view of how the poor area of said country actually works and how the people their are struggling. Conclusion: I think this is a really well thought out novel from a down to earth writer. While it may be difficult for non-philippine readers to understand some of the nuances (me included), it has a lot of depth and heart. Although I do hope that my dear writer really works on his/her grammar. I have to say I'm really proud of my fellow South East Asian writers :D Although I'm not Filipino, I'm a Malaysian and love my neighbors <3 I hope we all succeed! :)

Monillas: a human garbage. How should I put this into words? My roots come from various parts of Asia. Even though I had the privilege of being born in a first world country far away from the poverty and was allowed to flourish, go to school, have an easy life etc. I still know, hear and see the struggles of the people, family who were left behind. Poverty, desperation - they are all very real and well described within this novel. Granted, the grammar is lacking and would need an editor to work through it, but the idea and the story is still very well established and shown - and profoundly realistic. This is a story of poverty, desperation, and the things people are ready to do when they have no other options left. So far the story follows male characters. I can only imagine and fear what the story would be like if it was told from a female's perspective. All in all, I like how well the author writes about the reality of poverty in these countries. With editing and a better grasp on the English language, I'm sure the author can deliver wholesome and heart-wrenchingly realistic stories. Keep writing, author!

This book shows the reality of life. You never really think of how those people living on the streets survive everyday. The story is well written and shows the struggles and the hope of a kid who wants a better life. Definitely a good read for a dose of reality.

It's very well written and the characters are nice, but the best parts are the descriptive pieces which make the world come to life. I like the way the chapters are structured to give bits and pieces of information which just flow off into the next chapter really easily, but can be a little confusing at first. There's a lot of potential.

...What should I say? I was a bit fearful of this book judging by its title. But, after reading it...ugh. The sense of realism in this book is blinding. And, the way the author writes this makes me feel as if I am living the life of the MC. A harsh life as a trash collector whose dream is to become rich. Man, the scene where he slides off the pile of garbage for enjoyment almost made me cry. I don't know man...this book is really well written that makes me not want to read more. Haah, my mood has become horrible. I don't want to read this further, but I already fell into the trap of this book and am hoodwinked by it. I don't want to read it but I am reading it. THIS IS WAYYYY TOOO REALISTIC!!!!!!!

I went to the Philippines, and I saw a huge gap between the rich and the poor. I have to say, the huge is unimaginable. I think this novel is really good in describing the life of poor people there. Their desperation, anger, etc. I think this is one of the best realistic fiction I read in webnovel.

This story is both beautiful yet saddening. Despite it not being a story about an apocalypse or about the end of the world, it captures what I have barely seen any other novel does—the feeling of helplessness that comes from being out of options. But enough with the grim and gloom onto the review! -Writing Quality- First off, I just want to say that the writing is near perfect. Unless I read out loud and search for flaws, you'll probably skip over any flaws in the story. The words used in the story are perfectly rounded to the point. It's not repetitive, but its also not trying too hard. If there was one issue not including grammatical errors that are almost impossible to avoid, it would be a little bit more description of the environment they live in and not just the direct area the MC is at. -Stability of Updates- Only being in the third chapter, I can't say anything. However, looking at the current chapters, it seems the author has a nice rhythm to the updating speed. -Story Development- The first chapter truly encompasses what one would think life would be when poor and in this type of situation. While diving slightly into philosophy, the Novel honestly portrays the case our Main Character is in to the point you can't help but root for him. -Character Design- So current, I'm in love with the Main Character and his personality. He's not edgy, nor is he stupid. He has the innocence genuinely equal to that of someone born in a bad situation. The idea that thinks things will be beautiful after getting a job may seem stupid to us who live in somewhat ok conditions indeed shows the author knew what he was doing. That being said, I don't really feel for any other characters in the Novel, including the siblings or the parents though that is definitely due to the lack of interactions with them and not due to the author. -World Background- I like the idea that the world is the same but also different. I love that the author is using slight changes to make the world his own in the Novel and is genuinely expanding the horizons of the world with each chapter. However, I do feel there is a lack of detail on the overall area in this world, which would help with the reader's imagination.

First of all, hello fellow Filipino writer! You made a very realistic and vivid world here. The plotline is intriguing. This story is one of those that stood out to me the most on this website. It's not a crowd follower in a way that it doesn't center around lavish livings and romantic endeavors. It depicts reality, and has a well-written interaction between the characters. Overall, it's a gem of a work.

A very interesting story with a hard-hitting premise about the struggle of poor people and the difficulties they face in an unjust world. I really like Antonio and Jose as characters and really feel for all they've been through. The gambling scenes were really exciting and stressful at the same time. Poor Jose could not catch a break. Yanli is absolutely detestable, I hated every moment he showed up. Overall I think this is a very interesting novel with the potential to get even better. My only remark would be to pay attention to verb tenses. Great otherwise!

This is Brandon Gould the writter of the Tylingariea Epic i am responding to a Review Swap that i have just sent here is my review upon reading the first chapter i knew that this book was going to be one that deals with heavy subject matter and from what i have read you have created a plot that not only is respectful to philapine culture and warns about the dangers of greed but the dialge is written in a way that you feel for the chartors and can empize with what they are going though. also feel stressed when Joe is losing his money and is sucoming to the darkness of Greed and the evils of a corrpote boss. The pacing moves at a steady pace and i hope to see more chapters in the future. I

I don't think I've given another book 5 stars yet, but this gets it. The story is a gritty and very real depiction of what it's like to be at the bottom with a desire to escape. The first arc hit hard. Like really hard. It's obviously a made up story, but the emotions in it feel raw and visceral. I wouldn't change anything about this novel. There's no need to change the writing at all, because perfection is not necessary here. If anything, any writing issues just give the novel more character. Truly a fantastic novel, and I will be following it from now on. Well done to the author.

Just the title itself suggests many things: the settings, the character, and the probable plot. I’ve took my time to scrutinize — and thus I’ve reached about 12 chapters. Kind of slow because I was also reading another book. Anyhow here’s how it goes: As a fellow Filipino, it dreaded me how awfully good the settings and concept were integrated to the story. It would be self explanatory why that is the case. Poverty is a huge issue in the country and alleviating it would take time. The characters are good, constructed well and has a depth to them. There are a few errors in text, but overall a good read. I would advise to write more description to engage the reader’s imagination more. Overall, a good read. Keep up the good work.

First of all, the cover is awesome. For the story it's equally great. I hope for Allaine to rise soon and support others like him. Maybe a gang would be fine also. An interesting story.

The suspense, the realistic suspense that makes your heat want to explode, especially in the latest chapter was just amazing. It reminds me so much of "Kaiji" an anime that I love so much, which only made me love this more, but the difference is the consequences here are on another level. This is the only story other than Kaiji where I loved the concept of gambling. 5/5

The author's description of the scenes were splendid! It was a good read, I am instantly hooked in cahapter one! As a fellow country men, I really know what the author tells. Hope you will check my book called Lumia: Other World and leave a review!
