I love the amount of details during the gamble. Even though it took a few chapters to cover. But I think it's important to the story plot such that it adds a realistic point of view of what makes us human. Human by nature are curious creature, but we are also very greedy. Only a few are able to control that. I love how the author shows the danger of wanting more (greed) using gambling as the beginning centerpiece to the story. While reading, I feel the emotional and physical toil that jose feel. It's very personal. Yes, even if you have a job it's doesn't guarantee one's success. As for boss yanlei, damn, I wanna smack so bad! I really hate him! The author did a good job in making his character (thump up) However, with the main character being Allaine Monillas I feel like not much of him is being shown yet. But the first few chapters so far does set a good foundation (setting) for the plot. Will be expecting more of him in the next coming chapters.

The novel is from the psychological type, just my cup of tea. The author spends time to unravel concepts and explain how "misfortune" accumulates in one's life - which also can expand beyond and catch in its web other victims. One can think of consequentialism. This is a very realistic story. People may see it as slow-paced, but I'd like to say that good stuff comes slow. (; The only thing I dislike is the overuse of exclamation marks.

My honest review of the story so far. (Chapter 39) Writing Quality: Below average It started off pretty amazing. I have to say the introduction was fantastically written. The writer must have worked really hard and gotten many references for its superb introduction. However, due to the beginning being so good, as you read past that, the terrible grammar that comes afterward becomes incredibly glaring. hopefully, the good introduction helps keep the readers from turning away. Personally, it's very difficult for me to read a story when I can't help noticing the mistakes. The main thing to work on is probably the usage of present and past tense. Grammar mistakes are abundant of course. Also, for some reason, the writer always write the 'i' for 'its(it's)' in capital letters. It bothers me. Stability of Updates: Five stars all around! It could be fast or slow, I'll give full marks. Personally, I am a quality over quantity type of person. So if posting fast updates compromises your quality, i think it's better to go at your own pace so that you're actually satisfied with what you write. :) Story Development: Great The story's pacing is actually quite good. they give you time to understand the characters properly before jumpstarting all the action. Thus we as readers are able to emphasize with their hardships more. Character Design: Excellent I surprisingly like how the author wrote the story on the main lead. He feels like he has a lot of depth. There are many layers to his character, reasons for his aspirations, and believable obstacles to achieving them. I love a story of characters straying from the main path so it's a big plus as well. World Background: Good While it's not fantasy or cultivation, it's a realistic world that is closer to home. set in the poor area of the Philippines, it gives us readers an eye-opening view of how the poor area of said country actually works and how the people their are struggling. Conclusion: I think this is a really well thought out novel from a down to earth writer. While it may be difficult for non-philippine readers to understand some of the nuances (me included), it has a lot of depth and heart. Although I do hope that my dear writer really works on his/her grammar. I have to say I'm really proud of my fellow South East Asian writers :D Although I'm not Filipino, I'm a Malaysian and love my neighbors <3 I hope we all succeed! :)

Monillas: a human garbage. How should I put this into words? My roots come from various parts of Asia. Even though I had the privilege of being born in a first world country far away from the poverty and was allowed to flourish, go to school, have an easy life etc. I still know, hear and see the struggles of the people, family who were left behind. Poverty, desperation - they are all very real and well described within this novel. Granted, the grammar is lacking and would need an editor to work through it, but the idea and the story is still very well established and shown - and profoundly realistic. This is a story of poverty, desperation, and the things people are ready to do when they have no other options left. So far the story follows male characters. I can only imagine and fear what the story would be like if it was told from a female's perspective. All in all, I like how well the author writes about the reality of poverty in these countries. With editing and a better grasp on the English language, I'm sure the author can deliver wholesome and heart-wrenchingly realistic stories. Keep writing, author!

This book shows the reality of life. You never really think of how those people living on the streets survive everyday. The story is well written and shows the struggles and the hope of a kid who wants a better life. Definitely a good read for a dose of reality.

It's very well written and the characters are nice, but the best parts are the descriptive pieces which make the world come to life. I like the way the chapters are structured to give bits and pieces of information which just flow off into the next chapter really easily, but can be a little confusing at first. There's a lot of potential.

...What should I say? I was a bit fearful of this book judging by its title. But, after reading it...ugh. The sense of realism in this book is blinding. And, the way the author writes this makes me feel as if I am living the life of the MC. A harsh life as a trash collector whose dream is to become rich. Man, the scene where he slides off the pile of garbage for enjoyment almost made me cry. I don't know man...this book is really well written that makes me not want to read more. Haah, my mood has become horrible. I don't want to read this further, but I already fell into the trap of this book and am hoodwinked by it. I don't want to read it but I am reading it. THIS IS WAYYYY TOOO REALISTIC!!!!!!!

I went to the Philippines, and I saw a huge gap between the rich and the poor. I have to say, the huge is unimaginable. I think this novel is really good in describing the life of poor people there. Their desperation, anger, etc. I think this is one of the best realistic fiction I read in webnovel.
