Chapter 30: Sports Festival (9)

"So, that's your son, right?" Jun asked Rei. 

"Yeah, he's the youngest." Rei replied. 

"He's powerful. If he could combine both elements, he would be more powerful than he is now." Jun said. 

[Let's welcome our contestants for the third quarter finals! 

Keeping the 1st position in both obstacle race and cavalry battle, coming all the way to the 1vs1 tournament undefeated, Hero department student, Jōichirō Saiba!

Two in one, Hero department student, Fumikage Tokoyami! ]

As their name was called, both contestants walked up to the stage. Hearing the announcement from Present Mic, Saiba thought 'Two in one? What is he, a fried chicken? Ah... make sense.'

Midnight, who had been waiting for them, asked if they were ready for battle, and getting confirmation from both of them, Midnight shouted "START!"

Saiba went straight towards Tokoyami who had Dark Shadow out and ready to defend. 

Just as he neared Dark Shadow, Dark Shadow swiped its claws at Saiba under the order of Tokoyami. Saiba dodged the claws and gave a southpaw to Dark Shadow, and that only made Dark Shadow reel back a bit along with its host Tokoyami. 

Enraged, Dark Shadow started to attack relentlessly, and Saiba just kept on dodging every attack at hairs length for dramatics. He was dodging all the attacks with a smile on his face and Tokoyami seeing this asked him in between the fight "Why aren't you properly attacking?"

Still dodging Dark Shadow's attacks, Saiba said "What kind of friend would I be if I ended the fight before my friend could show what he can do to the world?"

Moving along Dark Shadow who didn't stop attacking Saiba, Tokoyami said "You have to end this or I'll surrender, as I don't have that much time anymore to keep Dark Shadow out."

"I know that don't worry. This will end in a jiffy." Dodging a dangerous claw strike, for a normal person, from Dark Shadow Saiba told Tokoyami. 

In the stands, the pro heroes were praising Tokoyami for his raw power, and Saiba for his reaction time that gave the pros a run for their money. 

'Alright, that's enough show. Now let's end this.' Thinking along the lines, Saiba maneuvered himself around Dark Shadow and karate chopped Tokoyami at his neck. Dark Shadow did try to block the attack at its host, but was slow, so Tokoyami lost his consciousness, and Midnight announced "Fumikage Tokoyami unable to continue! Jōichirō Saiba advances to the semi finals!"

"Woohoo!" Cheers were heard from the stands as the third match of the quarter finals gave them a show instead of instant defeat of the participants. 

"Yay! Big brother won!" Yuki jumped up and down saying that and the adults near her smiled at the little ball of sunshine. 

Rei whispered into Fuyumi's ears "You think your kids are going to be like that?"

"MOM!" Fuyumi shouted at her mom with a flushed face due to embarrassment and Tomo, who was sitting near Rei, giggled at the shout of Fuyumi indicating that she heard what Rei said. 

Fuyumi got even more embarrassed as she realized that she shouted loudly. And sighing in annoyance, she said in a low voice "Mom, don't tease me please."

"What? I was just curious." Rei said without an ounce of shame. 

[That was a fantastic fight showcased by Jōichirō Saiba and FumikageTokoyami! 

Now let's welcome the final quarter final participants! 

The explosive boy, from the Hero Department, Katsuki Bakugo!

The strategist, from the hero department, Momo Yaoyorozu! ]

As usual Midnight asked them if they were ready for the fight, and getting their confirmation, she started the fight. 

Bakugo being Bakugo, used his explosion to propel towards Momo at his full speed, Momo on the other hand created two pistols.

Everyone was intrigued by the guns as they didn't know what those pistols did. And they were on the edge as they know from the battle between Bakugo and Uraraka, that Bakugo will give it his all to defeat his enemy.

Just as Bakugo reached Momo, she pulled the trigger, and foam-like stuff was shot out aiming at Bakugo's hands. Bakugo, understanding her plan, used his explosion to maneuver around the foam and went straight to Momo and made an explosion right in front of her face. 

As the smoke settled, Bakugo saw Momo having a round shield in front of her face held by her hand and in her other hand was the gun she used before. Without missing a beat, Momo pulled the trigger again aiming at one of his hands. 

Again he dodged it easily and went around Momo to blast another one but she kept the round shield in front of her face in a way that allowed her to see. 

"Fuck it!" Yelling out loud, Bakugo used his explosion to fly upwards and when he reached a certain height, he stopped his explosion and dived straight towards Momo. 

Momo knew that if she stayed put she would get a lot of attacks. So she ran from her spot, and Bakugo used his explosion to catch after her. When she was nearing the boundary, Momo stopped and used the pistols again, and like before he dodged it pretty easily and putting his hands together he made an explosion that blinded Momo who was right in front of Bakugo as she didn't get the chance to cover her eyes. 

Taking that gap, Bakugo used another explosion to throw Momo out of the boundaries. 

"Momo Yaoyorozu out of bounds! Katsuki Bakugo advances to final!" Midnight announced as soon as Momo was out of the bounds. 

In the stands, many of the pro heroes noted that Bakugo made plans on the spot to overcome his adversity, and Momo made plans before the match by analyzing the fights of Bakugo. 

Jun who watched the match with an interest also noted the qualities of both of them and spoke "If what Jōichirō said is true, then Bakugo can become one of the greatest hero of this generation if he can control his explosive temper."

The adults nodded at what he said, Rei and Fuyumi nodded because they know someone who have fiery temper and still is the No. 2 hero, Tomo understood what her husband said because she's been married to him for so long and know him too well even before their marriage.
