Conversation with friends is always a joy, as long as a dozen of them aren't shouting in your ears at the same time. That's exactly what Yuta was facing right now, with people screaming almost directly into his ear.
Yuta sat in the common room of Class 1-A, surrounded by his classmates, who were all eagerly waiting for him to spill the details of his epic fight with All For One. The atmosphere was noisy as hell, but still, Yuta preferred this over the quiet of the hospital room. He had just been released from the hospital, and this was the first time he'd had the chance to tell everyone what really happened.
"All right, all right, I'll tell you," Yuta said, raising his hands to quiet the excited chatter. He leaned back on the couch, a playful grin on his face. "So, the fight with All For One… Where do I even start?"
"From the beginning!" Kirishima blurted out, leaning forward eagerly. "Don't leave anything out!"
Yuta chuckled. "Okay, so it was intense right from the start. The guy's quirk is insane—he can literally steal and use other people's quirks. It was like fighting ten different people at once. But I knew I had to keep him away from everyone else, especially Bakugo and the other pro heroes."
"Bastard, what did you say..." Bakugo roared, but Yuta tactfully decided to ignore him.
"Were you scared?" Uraraka asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"A little, yes, but more than that, I was excited. It's not every day that we get to fight powerful people, after all. I was barely able to handle All Might, who wasn't even trying, so fighting AFO was like aiming for the stars. But hey, it's not like I had a choice. A few idiots decided to play hide and seek, so I just had to act; otherwise, they would have been caught by AFO too." Yuta admitted, glancing at Izuku, Momo, Tenya, and others who were there, making them suddenly stiffen. They hadn't told anyone yet that they were involved.
"Every hit I landed on him, he'd just shrug it off like it was nothing. But I managed to cut off one of his hands, which I thought would give me the upper hand—pun intended."
Sero snickered at the pun while Mina gave him a high-five.
"But he was still stronger. I almost died; you all should have seen what happened then, right?" Yuta replied with a slightly solemn tone, making others quiet down.
"Then how did you do that? What were those drums?" Todoroki asked. He wasn't the only one interested in this. In fact, almost everyone in Japan or outside was dying to know right now what exactly Yuta's quirk was, especially about the drums. Those drums were... magical. None can forget those drums, and then there was also the moon itself, which enlarged when those drums started.
"It's very similar to what happened to me back at the USJ. I call it Prime Time. It's like a do-or-die situation that my quirk kind of pushes upon me, putting my body in overdrive to the level that my powers just skyrocket.
People might mistake that as my real power, which is not the case at all. I am nowhere near as strong as you all saw back then. That is just my own power multiplied to an exponential level due to the threat to my life.
I can't control that power as of now. It's like trying to stimulate the same state of mind as someone facing a life-and-death situation. Almost impossible.
Even during that short duration when I had that power, I couldn't control it. You all saw what that last punch did to the city, right? I wasn't intending to do that. But a power that I hardly can control and can't use at will either...
But ultimately, it has saved my life again and again. And for that, I'm pretty happy to have it." Yuta replied honestly.
Without Prime Time, he would have been a goner by now. It's a double-edged sword, honestly.
That much stopped the chatty room, and everyone quieted down a little. All the students couldn't help but despair, thinking about what it would be like to face what they now call the 'Awaken Dynamic' as his Prime Time state. They could only shudder, feeling a little sympathy for the villains.
"Anyway," Yuta continued, "he regenerated his hand like it was no big deal. And then, before I knew it, he smashed me into the ground. Hard. I got buried under a ton of debris. For a moment, I thought it was over."
The room fell silent for a moment as everyone absorbed Yuta's words.
"And then the rest is history," Yuta didn't bother explaining the rest because, God knows, how many times that fight had been broadcasted all over the nation by now.
"Wow," Mina broke the silence, her eyes shining with admiration. "That sounds incredible, Yuta. You really held your own out there."
"Thanks," Yuta said, rubbing the back of his neck. "But after the fight, they wouldn't let me leave the hospital, even after I was fully healed! Can you believe that? The teachers were worried I'd go out and get into more trouble."
"Well, they weren't wrong, were they?" Kaminari teased, nudging Yuta with his elbow.
Yuta laughed. "Yeah, about that… I couldn't take it anymore. Being cooped up in the hospital was driving me nuts. So, I decided to sneak out. I was totally planning on just going for a little walk, maybe grabbing something to eat. But guess what? My luck being what it is, that's exactly when a Nomu attacked the city!"
"You're like a magnet for trouble, dude!"
"Hey...!" Yuta protested, shaking his head with a grin. "I couldn't just ignore it, though. I saw civilians in danger, so I had to step in."
"I had to be quick and precise. I kept hitting its weak spots until it couldn't move anymore. By the time I was done, I was exhausted, but at least the city was safe." Yuta tactically decided not to go into much detail—they didn't need to know everything.
"I can't believe you went from fighting All For One to sneaking out of a hospital and then fighting a Nomu," Momo said, shaking her head in disbelief. "You shouldn't have been there in the first place."
"Yeah, just like some naughty kids who sneak out at night and play cosplay," Yuta retorted, which shut Momo up and made others stiffen again.
"But hey, it was worth it. The look on the hospital staff's faces when they found out I snuck out to fight a Nomu was priceless. They were furious!"
"That's what you get for being a troublemaker!" Asui teased.
"Yeah, yeah, I know," Yuta said, waving off the teasing. "But honestly, I wouldn't have done it if I didn't think it was necessary. Someone had to stop that Nomu, and I was the only one around at the time."
"Except for the current number one hero," someone commented with a roll of their eyes.
'Dude, I was trying to save him some face here...'
"You're incredible, Yuta," Midoriya said earnestly. "You always step up when it matters most."
"Thanks, Deku," Yuta said, giving him a thumbs-up. "But I'm just doing what any of us would do in that situation. We're all training to be heroes, right?"
And then the conversation kept going, but Yuta's focus was only on the floating clothes on the side and the invisible girl in those clothes, who had been silent all this time.
He wanted to talk with her but couldn't right now. Hell, he couldn't even use his Sharingan because he didn't have his contacts in right now. Aka, he couldn't even see her at this point.
Just as he was thinking about this, he felt his legs being hugged by a small figure.
He looked down only to see the girl with teary eyes looking up at him and asking.
"Yuta is hurt?"
'Yeah, she was also listening to the story right. Sigh, I have to remember that she is around me and I can't act like this all the time.' Yuta couldn't help but smile, and while others didn't notice, he slowly ruffled her hair.
He didn't want to tell all of them about Rika right now.
