Ch. 36 - A month's worth of training

"So, you're telling me that he mysteriously disappeared? Out of thin air?" Inside an office, Fury was staring at the documents on his hands.

"Yes, sir. We have checked the cameras around and the last time he was seen is him getting inside his car and never went out since then. I went there myself to check and found the car empty." Phil reported in front of him.

"The Director just promoted me and this is what immediately emerged for me." Fury, this time was rubbing on his temples as he just celebrated his promotion yesterday. In fact, he was a bit hungover from drinking last night.

"Oh right, so I heard, congratulations on being promoted to Level 6, sir." Phil Coulson smiled warmly as he congratulated Fury on his promotion.

"Thank you, but we need to focus on this goddamn thing. How can someone like him disappear without anyong, even the cameras not noticing?" Fury asked rhetorically, he felt like his hair is falling out due to this.

"Maybe some kind of supernatural powers? After all, The Joker was rumored to have some abilities that transcends our perception." Phil said as it also got Fury in thinking.

And if this is indeed true and The Joker is capable of disappearing from the naked eye, then that's scary as fuck. What if one day he decided to go and sneak in the President's home and threaten to kill the President.

"How about your daughter, Matilda? She knows about him, right? Did you ask her?" Fury asked as what he said is indeed true, according to Phil, Doflamingo and Matilda are old friends in elementary school.

"I called and asked her but she said that she's busy managing her GED exams tomorrow." Phil informed him but he can't hide the excitement on his face, after all, taking the GED exams proves that you have a grade 12 education—even without a traditional diploma.

Not to mention, she's 12 years old this year, and she's already attending college! How cool is that?

Sometimes, Phil can't help but think that her daughter is more smarter than Tony Stark himself.

However, as much as he wanted to show this off, he can't afford to anger the Stark family by boasting that someone is smarter than their son, after all, Tony Stark is their son that they prided themselves in and by boasting Matilda to Tony Stark is like insulting them.

"Then, looks like we'll do the hard way." Fury sighed as he stood up and wore his coat, preparing to go out.

What he meant by the 'hard way' isn't anything bad, he called it the hard way because it means that he would use his own capabilities to investigate instead of relying on the experts and technology, which means that he would go there himself by asking around and investigating using his own hands.

"Follow me Coulson, we have a long road ahead." Fury inquired as Phil nodded his head and grabbed his coat before stepping out and closed the door then followed Fury.

A full month has passed, Doflamingo continued his training on Kamar-Taj.

He didn't regret learning here even one bit.

Doflamingo learned that he has talent in magic, no less than Dr. Strange's.

Although Doflamingo is no where near a true Master Magician but he could atleast avoid defeat if he faced one.

The first thing that Doflamingo mastered is the Inter-Dimensional Portal spell, which is a huge help to him as he could now communicate with Matilda whenever he wanted by casting a small circle in the Warehouse.

At first, she was shocked at the mystical phenomenon that she encountered but when Doflamingo introduced himself from the portal, she sighed in relief and since then, almost everyday, Doflamingo is calling her via the portal in order to know about their ongoing Amusement Park.

According to her, it's going really well, thanks to Howard Stark promoting it sometimes, she has managed to recruit atleast 15 experts in different fields on managing the Amusement Park.

Unsurprisingly, Hydra indeed tried to insert some of their spies, but unfortunately for them, they're facing Matilda, who is capable of reading memories, so during the interviews, she was reading the interviewee's mind while stating questions for them.

Thanks to that, all of the staff are non-spies, and non-government people.

What surprised Doflamingo was that the head of the Gambino family, Joseph Armone, wanted his son, Marko who was actually the one who suggested to call the police when Doflamingo raided their home, to work on the Amusement Park with an excuse of wanting to teach him a lesson and to learn the hard way.

Under Matilda's mind reading, Joseph wasn't lying when he said that, he really wanted his spoiled son to experience hardships.

'Atleast he's a better father than Viggo.' This is what Doflamingo was thinking when he heard about this.

Another surprised and what angers Doflamingo the most was that the Hydra was intending to assassinate Matilda by making a truck crush into her during one of her drives.

Luckily, Matilda's power surged dramatically as during the event, her telekinetic powers seemed to respond from being put into a life & death situation and due to that, the entire truck didn't even managed to make contact with Matilda's car when the truck seemed to have hit into an impenetrable wall that was unconsciously constructed by Matilda, turning the truck into a scrap upon contact.

Since that event, Matilda has discovered more to her ability. She tried to construct the impenetrable wall but something seems to be holding her back as she can't replicate what happened.

Fortunately, there's a noticable increase of strength in telekinesis, as she can now levitate something heavier than herself.

Putting the outside world aside, Doflamingo succeeded in becoming friends with Natalya Maximoff and learned something from her.

It turns out, she's the real mother of Wanda Maximoff and Pietro Maximoff.

According to her, at a young age, when she experienced the death of her father due to the nazis, she unknowingly activated her magic.

And this magic is what shocked Doflamingo, because when she showed the 'magic' to Doflamingo, he immediately recognized it as the infamous Chaos Magic of Wanda Maximoff.

When she killed the nazis that raided her home and killed her parents, with a young and innocent mind, she doesn't know what to do, so she ran away in fear and shock.

This however, helped her grow more and she once tried it master the Chaos Magic in which she succeeded.

However, this Chaos Magic of her is growing rapidly that sometimes, she's losing control.

At first, she ignored this and found a man that she loved and became the father of Wanda and Pietro.

However, one day, when she just gave birth a few days ago, her Chaos Magic grew out of control and she accidentally killed her husband.

Realizing what she just did, the same things happened when she killed her father. She ran away with Pietro and Wanda in her arms, leaving the dead body of her husband.

She then decided to leave Wanda and Pietro to the care of her husband's sister, while at the same time, she manipulated their minds and formed a memory where Wanda and Pietro are their 'children'. And out of fear that they'd look for her after receiving the news of the death of her husband, she also removed herself from their memories.

Since then, she has become a ghost. Or atleast she thought so.

During her run, the Ancient One 'found' her and when she learned about the magic and such from the Ancient One, she asked the Ancient One to take her in, and help her control her uncontrollable Chaos Magic.

The Ancient One, knowing the danger that she holds, accepted her and casted a spell on her that will forcibly suppress her Chaos Magic.

However, she was told that the spell is only a temporary solution. In the future, she must find a way to control the Chaos Energy herself or else if she kept supressing the Chaos Energy, soon it will explode and destroyed everything around her, the Ancient One even concluded that it might risk the entire world.

When Doflamingo heard this, it reminded him of Jean Gray from X-men.

Despite Natalya being described as s ticking time bomb, that didn't stop Doflamingo from wanting her in his family. He believed that one day she would be able to control them without any risks of exploding. After all, if her daughter, Wanda could perfectly control them, how can she, the mother, not?

But now, Doflamingo first has to get back, after all,

[Matilda PoV]

"Where is he?" Matilda was standing in front of the entrance of the Dressrosa, alongside her are the staffs with their uniforms and smiles plastered in their faces.

Outside the entrance, a huge crowd has formed as the people received the news of the Grand Opening and can't wait to the part of it.

As Matilda was growing nervous and anxious, she heard a familiar voice behind her that made her sigh in relief.

"Looks like I'm not late." When she turned around, she saw Doflamingo in an unusual but fancy outfit, walkibn towards her with his hands on his pocket.

Doflamingo is currently wearing a dark pink suit and a black sleeves inside his suit, his tie is also pink, like his suit, his blonde hair was pushed upwards, giving him a very wild look. What caught the eye of Matilda and the others who saw him is his large pink fluffy coat resting on his shoulders and and his fancy glasses. He was also wearing a brown glove and an expensive looking Watch in his left wrist.

"How do I look?" Doflamingo asked as Matilda was staring at him in shock.

"How do you look? You look like a fucking Mafia Boss, what the hell are you wearing?" Unlike what Doflamingo expected where Matilda will be amazed on his wearing, instead, he was met with an insult from her.

"What do you mean? At least I look cool, right?" Doflamingo smiled wearily as he wished he didn't asked for her opinion.

"Alright, I admit you looked cool, but you're still like a Mafia Boss." Matilda finally gave in and complimented him.

"Anyways, it's time for us to open Dressrosa. Tell them to open the gates." Doflamingo fixed his gloves and said before continuing.

"The world shall know about our Amusement Park." He spread his arms as he said that.
