Chapter 33: Emma and Gambit (2)

Gambit grinned "Let's show 'em how we make the sparks fly!"

As soon as he said that he charged some cards and threw them towards the hydra agents which exploded upon impact.

The hydra agents were wide eyed.

"Mut..ants... They are mutants!!" One of them shouted

But both Gambit and Emma didn't give them time to think and regroup as they both went offensive.

Emma used her telepathic powers to disorient the Hydra agents, while Gambit continued to throw a barrage of charged playing cards, causing explosions all around.

Emma looked at Gambit and said in a voice that was audible to everyone "Gambit, it seems our lovely workplace has been invaded by these Hydra agents. Time to put our skills to use and show them a taste of mutant power!"

"You got it, Emma! Let's make these goons regret the day they decided to mess with us. They are lucky boss is not here to see the mess they have created."

One of the Hydra Agents angrily said "You mutants think you're so superior! We'll make you pay for your arrogance!"

Emma mocked him "Arrogance? Please, sweetheart. We're mutants, the epitome of cool. You Hydra agents are just brainwashed sidekicks to your superiors."

The armed men opened fire on them.

Emma's diamond-hard skin encased her body as she stepped forward, the bullets bounced off her without causing any damage as she engaged the hydra agents in close combat.

She couldn't use her telepathic powers in this form but her little brother was researching about it and said that he would find a solution for it.

Gambit charged his staff with kinetic energy and slammed it towards the ground that sent a shockwave of energy which disoriented the hydra agents. Emma too was caught by the shockwave but she brushed it off thanks to her diamond form.

Gambit chuckled "You know what they say, mon ami. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen."

Emma went back to her normal form as she used her telepathy to locate the Hydra agent responsible for leading the attack. With a focused gaze, she reached into his mind and seized control, forcing him to turn against his own comrades. The agent, now under Emma's control, unleashed a barrage of attacks on his former allies, creating a momentary distraction for Emma and Gambit.

Meanwhile, Gambit utilized his agility and cunning to his advantage. He weaved through the chaos, charging objects in the environment and transforming them into explosive weapons. With a series of acrobatic maneuvers, he swiftly dispatched multiple Hydra agents, leaving them stunned and disoriented.

As the battle raged on, Emma Frost and Gambit's teamwork became evident. Emma used her telepathy to create openings for Gambit, allowing him to strike with precise and devastating blows. Gambit, in turn, provided cover and distraction, allowing Emma to concentrate her psychic powers to their full potential.

The Hydra agents were overwhelmed by the combined power and skill of Emma and Gambit. Their coordinated efforts left the agents in disarray, demoralized, and unable to regroup. Within moments, the once-thriving battlefield fell silent, save for the sound of defeated Hydra agents groaning in pain.

Emma and Gambit stood amidst the wreckage, catching their breath. They shared a nod, a silent acknowledgment of their successful defense of the company they both held dear. The threat had been neutralized, but their vigilance remained. They knew that their enemies would always be lurking in the shadows, waiting for their next opportunity to strike.

Gambit moved to each fallen body and used his metallic cards to slash their necks ending their pitiful lives. Law had already told them that hydra agents don't deserve to live and they don't deserve their mercy.

Suddenly one of the hydra agents who was pretending to be unconscious got up and fired at Gambit who used his Bo staff to deflect the bullets.

Gambit said "Oh, I see you got some fight left in ya. But let me tell ya, when it comes to fighting dirty, Hydra can't hold a candle to our mutant mischief."

The Hydra Agent gritted his teeth "We underestimated you mutants!"

Emma Frost smirked "Underestimated? Darling, that's a mistake you'll only make once."

Gambit grinned "Yeah, but don't worry, we're always here to offer free lessons in humility. Now, who's next?"

With that he used the extended blade of his modified Bo staff to kill the hydra agent who sneaked attack him.

"Well, You both have really improved. Looks like the training paid off." A voice came from behind them.

They turned to see that it was Law.

"Boss" Gambit saluted

"Brother" Emma hugged him

"Good job out there you two!" Law said with a smile

"Thank you boss, it was a piece of cake. They were quite weak." Gambit said

"True, we are really powerful right now. We can even take over the world." Emma said with stars in her eyes.

Law weirdly looked at her and thought 'Is she really the cold hearted white queen of the hellfire club?'

"Don't get overconfident. There are people who can kill you with a single thought. Besides, You two have not even reached the full potential of your mutant powers. You will still have to train. As for world domination what is fun in that? The real fun is when you rule the world from the shadows." Law said

"What should we do about Hydra boss?" Gambit asked Law

"I have already extracted the information of some of the hydra bases. But he didn't know much. We can still attack these bases." Emma said

"We can't make a move on hydra yet. If death Surgeon suddenly starts attacking Hydra immediately after this place was attack. They would link this place with me that would not only trouble you guys but would also endanger the company." Law said

He continued "But hydra would definitely send more agents here. We would have to make them distracted so they would leave us alone and focus on other problems. I even have a perfect plan for this."
