Max himself strode confidently toward the main auction house, where guards already looked panicked, some rushing to sound an alarm. But before they could react, Max raised his hand, emitting a powerful wave of energy that knocked them to the ground, silencing any warnings.
Inside, the auction house was packed, with Celestial Dragons seated in luxurious boxes, waiting to bid on the human lives paraded before them. As Max stepped through the doors, he could feel the shock ripple through the room.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Max's voice boomed across the hall, making every head turn toward him. "The auction has a new item on the block today—your own Celestial Dragons!"
The room descended into chaos as the elites attempted to flee, but Max and his crew swiftly blocked every exit, corralling the Dragons and the auction house leaders into one trapped group. "Today, the tables turn," Max declared. "Bid wisely, because your fates now lie in my hands."
Screams and panicked gasps filled the room as the Celestial Dragons and auction house staff realized their predicament. The once-proud elites, who treated lives as disposable, now stood helpless before Max and his crew.
With a flick of his wrist, Max summoned dark chains from the floor, binding the Celestial Dragons in place. The chains glowed faintly with his magic, pulsating with a power that made resistance futile. Each Dragon's horrified expression only added to Max's satisfaction.
"Welcome to your own auction!" Max announced, his voice dripping with irony. "Normally, you'd be calling out your bids, deciding who is worth what. Today, I'm giving you a taste of your own medicine."
Gwen looked at them with a frown, crossing her arms. "So, it's because of this bastards, Slave Auction kept happening?"
Beside her, Leon grinned. "About time someone taught them some humility."
"Just kill them," Gwen spat in anger as the Celestial Dragon glared at her.
The reason none of them displayed their usual confidence was because Max had used his magic to torture them, leaving them unable to do anything but whimper in fear now that the nightmare had ended.
One of the Celestial Dragons, gasping for breath, managed to stammer, "Y-You can't do this… we're of the Heavenly Lineage!"
Max laughed coldly, stepping closer to the cowering man. "Oh, I know exactly who you are. That's why this is so fitting. The world needs to know that you are none God just pathetic pigs and waste of oxygen, and today, you're part of setting it right."
Max then also snapped his fingers as all the exits were sealed, leaving the nobles and such who came to buy slaves entrapped here.
One of the Celestial Dragons waking up, furious and incredulous, stammered out, "D-Do you know who we are? You'll pay dearly for this insolence!"
Max merely laughed, his eyes flashing with amusement. "Do I know who you are? Oh, I know exactly who you are. And believe me," he leaned down, his face inches from the quivering noble, "that's why I'm enjoying this so much."
The audience, many of whom had been friends or clients of the Celestial Dragons, watched in horrified silence, fearing they'd be next if they tried to resist. Meanwhile, Gwen approached with a triumphant smirk, holding up a collection of keys and devil fruits she had found in a hidden compartment in the back.
"Look what I found," she said, handing the fruits over to Max. "Looks like they kept some of these for themselves."
Max inspected the fruits, his smile widening. "Perfect. These will make excellent bait for our little 'event' in the New World."
Max then looked at others, using his magic as he flicked his hand, gently tossing out three of the people stationed there—the couple and their young son, who had come only to buy slaves in hopes of helping them and reuniting them with their families or kingdom.
Max let them go. As for the others, they bought slaves for their own selfish pleasures and desires, so he wasn't going to spare any of them.
Max turned to the assembled crowd of pirates, freed slaves, and various onlookers who had managed to stay hidden. "Who wants to place the first bid?" he said mockingly, sending a wave of panic through the Celestial Dragons. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have one of these 'noble' creatures at your mercy!"
Before anyone could step forward, however, Max raised his hand. "Actually… I think I'll save them for something grander. This little demonstration was just to set the stage." He smirked at the Dragons, who looked faint with relief. "You're going to be transported to the New World, where I'll be auctioning you off to the highest bidders in front of a crowd that hates you more than anyone on this side of the Red Line."
He then turned to the freed slaves and said, "By the way, I'll need help with the auction house I'm going to open." The freed slaves looked at each other, a mix of nerves and newfound hope in their eyes.
"Good, let's go then," Max said, tapping the air to create a glowing portal. "Go inside; I'll join you soon," he added with a reassuring smile.
After stepping out of the auction house, he found his crew arriving with another group of captives. Max nodded, counting them. "Thirteen combined with the first batch... we've got a total of thirty-one of these pigs now."
"Let's exchange the Admirals for Devil Fruits, and then we'll go," Max said, and the others nodded. Just then, World came over to him. "Can I play with one of them?" he asked. Max shrugged, and World nodded, picking out a Celestial Dragon—a tall, lanky man.
As World cracked his knuckles and grabbed the Dragon by his collar, the Dragon screeched, "Bastards, unhand me! Commander, Release me!!" he shrieked, but World paid no mind, hauling him up by his clothes and pinning him against a pole.
"You know, one should always keep their health up—and the best way to achieve that is with a little boxing practice," World said, delivering a swift punch to the man's stomach.
The Celestial Dragon coughed up blood, and even those who were hiding nearby fell silent, stunned by what they had just witnessed.
