Chapter 3 – The Talk and Heroic Deed

3 months have gone by since the start of college.

In these 3 months, I have not stopped doing my daily quests.

The only problem was the increase in the number of workouts.

It started at 200, and now it is 1200.

I also have to run 30KM every day.

I was not able to do more because of time. I have to juggle between this, work, and college.

I also talked with Gerald about what is going to come and that conversation, well it went as I expected. I still could not believe it went that way.

Flashback

"Gerald, I have something important to talk about, this will be affecting not only us the world as well, I don't know how much it is going to change because of what I am about to say to you," Gerald could notice the seriousness in my voice.

"Place all your devices here, we will walk to a place that's close," as I said this, we headed to a cave that I was using. We were soon out and walking in the direction where the cave is situated.

"I know I should not even say but I am only one man and I cannot do everything on my own, I am not asking you to join my nightly adventures," Gerald interrupted by continuing.

"You need someone to talk to, keep you in check, is that right?" Gerald asked me, "Yes, I can't hold everything inside me because if I do I feel I will become an emotionless person, become someone that even my parents won't recognize"

"What is it that you want to say, Master Andrew?"

"The world will face many threats, Gods might descend, someone who will do anything to make sure the universe will survive, there are some who I don't know whether they exist or not"

"You don't want to be someone to stand on the sidelines and just watch as everything happens, you want to enter the game"

"Yes, Gerald, knowing what is about to happen, I just can't seem to walk away"

Gerald sighed hearing that.

"I feel it's like a curse to your family, Master Andrew, everyone from your family wants to help the world that sometimes they don't know that they might fall too deep into it that they can't seem to find their way back"

"Is that so? I don't know a lot about the family history but from your tone, I can see that my parents fell too deep"

"No, your parents were the anchors to each other, they made sure to always be close to it, they did not fall too deep due to that, but your grandparents fell too deep and never to be seen again due to that"

"If I had a girl maybe I would share it with her, but I only got you," I said with a sarcastic tone

"Ah, that hurts Master Andrew, but it seems this old bone is still required" Gerald held his heart and said with a sad tone

"So now what are we going to do, Andrew" questioned Gerald

"As you said, we are entering the game and how it is going to affect I have no idea"

Gerald POV

I did not know that I was going to have such a talk with Andrew today. I know he has been disappearing sometimes in the night, I did not know what he was doing.

When he lost his parents, he used to do this, he used to run around screaming in pain but this time it was like he had something to do. I did follow him and he was entering some kind of cave, I did check what it was but I could not find anything. From the talk that we are having right now, I know what he was doing, I can also say I am relieved he has come out of it but now with the threats that he said are coming, that made my worry increase.

I am glad that he decided to talk about it to me, I know what happens when someone shoulders everything by themselves, it leads to them being alone or they die.

"So, these threats that you talk about, can you tell them? Or is it a riddle that I would have to solve,"

"No need for a riddle, I can talk about it"

He then talked about some organizations with the name Hand, Yakuza, and when he said Hydra that shocked me.

"You are saying Hydra is still alive?"

"You know about them?"

"I have read many things about the organization, Captain America brought them down on that fateful day giving his life, it's not possible"

"Do you know about Shield?"

"Shield?"

"Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division"

"Yes, I know about them few of my comrades joined them, they asked me as well, I was planning to but your parents came, and they could have used SHIELD that time when they came to recruit us, it would have been easier to say instead of a mouthful of words, I don't know how they didn't know this" I chuckled

"True, well, Hydra lives inside SHIELD"

"How is this even possible?"

Andrew POV

I was shocked when he knew about SHIELD and they were even trying to recruit him.

"When SHIELD was founded, they brought in Armin Zola, he was the scientist working with Johann Schmidt the leader of HYDRA"

"How do you know about this? These are information that you can't possibly find"

"That's the part I cannot say about, let's just say I just know"

"I understand"

I then talked about SHIELD and how HYDRA slowly infiltrated it through Arnim Zola.

"This is too much to take, Master Andrew"

"I know"

"What about this HAND organization that you talked about?"

"Well, they are very well in the level of HYDRA, or I can say they are much worse than them"

"An organization worse than HYDRA"

"They are very ancient and the leaders are immortal, that does not mean they can't be killed"

Gerald stood still when he heard the word immortal.

"Earth to Gerald," I shook him.

"Immortal?" there was horror on his face which I can understand.

"Yes, they use a substance, that grants them the ability to live and they will do anything to get it, they will lay waste to a city or even a country to get it and I will slowly tell you about it"

"How are we even going to fight against these organizations, these monsters?"

"I can't say how, but we can, maybe one day I will be able to tell you everything Gerald"

"I will wait for that day, Master Andrew, I don't know the risk that you said and the changes that might happen from what you said but I will stand by your side and help you in all the ways I can"

We were both standing inside the cave now and I moved a big rock where I had hidden some notes and papers and I showed it to him. Well, it had everything I said just now and some names in it.

"Now that this over, we will be changing our 2nd basement and use it as our base." I said.

Back to the Present

Right now, I am wearing a suit and standing on the top of a building in Hell's kitchen, waiting for Gerald to give me updates on any crime, robbery, or something.

"Gerald, still nothing?" I asked him, "No, Master Andrew" replied Gerald

After a few minutes, I heard my earpiece sound with Gerald's voice

"Follow my orders, get to the left building, and keep moving forward", as Gerald was speaking, I started to move and do as he says. For the past three months, I have been training all the skills that Bruce had on Ra's Al Ghul and all new skills that Bruce Wayne had, other than that there is Gerald here who started to train me in his ways. For some reason it was easy for me to learn them, I don't know if it was because of my body changing due to the system or it was because of Bruce Wayne's knowledge on the skills that made me adapt to them pretty quickly, though I have gone through only like 30% of his memories. Gerald's training is mostly on guns, he also started to train with me on the skills that I train.

When I asked for Bruce Wayne's memories, I did not specify which, in turn, it brought me a lot of different Bruce Wayne's memories. This 30% that I say, I don't know if it is 30%.

As I was moving, I picked up a scream from a girl.

"Is that the one, Gerald?" I asked him to which he said "Yes."

When I went to the building near the scream, it was an alleyway where I could see 4 drunk guys dragging in a girl of my age.

I jumped down from the building and with the help of the amazing Boots I have, which I of course made, I landed on the ground bringing in a Bang sound.

All the thugs and the girl looked in my direction.

"Let her go," I said.

"Costume guy, run before I kill you," said one of the thugs with him showing his knife

I had a cape around me in black color of course, which hid my sword that was attached to the left side of my waist, I moved my right hand and drew it slowly,

"You made your decision," I said and used Soru to reach in front of him, I stabbed him in the leg

"AHHHHHH"

I then quickly navigated to the other three and did the same.

"Thank you, thank you for saving me," said the girl

"Call the cops" then I used Geppo and disappeared

The girl did as I told, the cops soon arrived and I saw the girl describe me, a black outfit in the center of the chest a skeleton face with a hat, a sword, and my voice being mechanical and all.

I then moved to the next location, there were a lot of small crimes that I stopped in today's adventure.

Around 1 AM I returned to my home and Gerald was there waiting for me.

"Good job, Master Andrew," said Gerald with a smile

"Thanks, Gerald, today is just the start, we have a lot more to do," I told him for which he nodded

Then both of us went to the underground floor where we had made a small base with some computers, weapons, clothes lying around, and a mannequin for my outfit.

I removed my outfit and put on the mannequin.

"Where are we on the Hand?" I asked Gerald

"Not close, digitally I was able to find some records and images that date back to a century ago if we want to know more, we have to go here, the place where they have the records in papers," said Gerald showing the image of the place.

"Difficult?" for which he said no.

"Okay, we check on this whole area for the next week, we get all the people working there, their schedules, and based on it we will infiltrate," I told him.

"Very well, Master Andrew, it's time you head to bed, you have got exams tomorrow," said Gerald and dragged me to bed.

"Status", I thought and the screen came in front of me.

I did do the workout quest extra when it was less and that brought me another 1.1 percentage of template experience.

I completed the Normal Quest twice today first was 1 then the next was 10 Heroic deeds, I can keep doing this and it has a rise of .5% experience and I hope it stays like that or increases, I don't want it to decrease.

Gol D. Roger's Soru and Geppo, I got them when I was 3.5% and his swordsmanship at 5%, his swordsmanship is vast, as the template experience increases, I get bits and bits of his insight in all the three skills and my body changes adapting to them, even if it is just basic right now, it is on another level, I still have not got Haki and I don't know when I will get it, just his swordsmanship is getting my hopes up.

I also started to develop an AI, the progress has reached 73% and soon I will have one. I look at the time and knew it is better to sleep, don't want to be sleepy as I write my exam tomorrow.

I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
