They Can't Know

Jackson's POV

"Are you fucking kidding me? You let her go?"

"N-no boss I swear we didn't mean for her to get away."

"Get out of my sight."

The stuttering fool left my office, and I sighed, placing my head between my hands. Everything is so messed up now. I had a concrete plan, everything was going to that plan too. I grabbed my keys and headed over to the hospital. It was late, and Lillian was asleep in the guest chair of Olivia's room. I pulled the syringe out of my bag and injected in into Olivia's blood bag. This should keep her memories at bay. I don't need her fucking anything else up.

The next day I got the news that the doctors found Olivia in a coma and had no clue why her body went into one. This is great. I know I have a couple of weeks to get Jonathon back in line. For three years that stupid boy has been moping around waiting for his 'love' to return back to base.

"Jonathan, my office please."

He closed the door behind me and sat in front of me. His fingers twitched, telling me he was nervous about being in here. He was hiding something from me.

"What are you hiding?"

"Nothing, I swear."

"You heard, didn't you?"

"Can I see her?"

I stared at the boy in front of me and wondered why the hell I even went into business with him in the first place. He is insignificant, but his company is everything to me. I would have gone straight through his father, but Jonathan's brother helped me change my mind.

"No. We have work to do Jonathan. Critical work."

I got up out of the chair and squeezed Jonathan's shoulder. On the outside, I look like a small innocent boy who just popped through puberty and has no idea how to run this business. But what they don't realise is, I have been at this game for a very long time. I knew how to torture people and kill people without there being any sign of their death. I may look small, but I knew exactly where all your weak points were. I moved over to the cabinet and popped a pill into a glass of whiskey and handed it to Jonathan.

"Drink."

He nodded and sculled it in one go. I watched the colour change in the boy's eyes and his shoulder's relaxed.

"Now Jonathan, unfortunately, some foolish people amongst the mafia managed to let Olivia go. She has fucked up this whole plan. I need to keep this quiet from your father, but she needs to go. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir."

"Good, now get out of my office."

Jonathan nodded, and he left my office. I loosened my tie and poured myself a whiskey. The phone beeped.

"What?"

"A Mrs Anderson is here to see you."

"Send her in."

Fuck. I knew she would come. The whole plan would have been fixed if I had gotten Lillian at the hospital as well. But I hesitated, and now the plan will have to be rewritten. Lillian opened the door and sat in front of my desk.

"What can I do for you, Lillian?"

"It's Olivia. I guess you have already heard about her situation."

"Your guess is right. But is there something you want from me?"

"I need you to visit her, just one time. You're the only people that haven't seen her yet. Maybe your voices will bring her back."

"Maybe your right. When?"

"Tomorrow."

"I will see you then."

The next day I went early to the hospital. Lillian had just left Olivia's room, and I used the time to inject the waking serum into her bloodstream. Within a few hours, she will be up. The time came, and I watched Nathan walk into the waiting room. This is what I need, an idiot as well.

"Did she call upon you too?"

He looked up from his seat and didn't seem too surprised to see me. Nathan has been Olivia's partner for a long time. But somehow she managed to get me when she came to my school. Then I was timid back then and had no idea what had hit me.

"Yeah. It was about time too. I have been worried sick about her and with not being able to see her."

"You should have called me. I do outrank Steve."

"Not in these sorts of situations. Even Lillian outrank you, and she has no formal rank."

"Fair enough."

Lillian came moments later and sat down in the silent room with us. We were waiting for the doctor to come to say we can see her. I don't know why we even came this early. I saw Nathan suppress like ten yawns. He must be bored. I wasn't I was itching for Oliva to be back into a coma. She doesn't need to be here, it would've been better off if the mafia had just caught her instead. I saw the doctor nod, and Lillian waved us over.

"Come on, boys. Do you remember what you need to do?"

We nodded and followed her down the hallway and into the private room they had set up for Oli. Lillian opened the door, and I sensed it was about time for Olivia to wake up. Nathan sat on one side, and I took the other, grabbing onto her hand.
