Do You See Anything

I wait in anticipation for the name that could quite possibly be the one that murdered Sarah. I realize that I am holding my breath and then I hear it.

"Dereck Hudsinson, age 28... He works as a-"

It feels like I suddenly lost my ability to take a breath.

"Wait...don't tell me. You ran his new name and he got released about two months ago and got a job as a night guard for a security company?"

Woodi just goes silent for a moment;

"How did you know?!"

"Because I am looking at the CCTV footage and I see that Dereck, the security guard...is standing in front of Sarah's door during the early hours of the morning about two months ago. You do know that Dereck, gave us most of the information on the case...and all of his info didn't pan out"

"No way…Marks, no way"

"Get a warrant. I'll meet you at the precinct"

I end the call with Woodi and ask the security;

"When is Dereck's next shift?"
