Cruel fate
The five zombies were tearing apart the man's body one bite at a time. With all his remaining strength the man called for Li JinHai.
"He-Help me, please." Said the man with a feeble voice.
He didn't know what to do. Sure, he could safely flee, but if he were to leave the man to his fate could he still be called human? No! He couldn't do such a thing! Even if it was going to be a hard fight, he should at least give it a try.
Li JinHai knew that his best chance to attack was while the zombies were still eating the man's flesh, so he attacked at that very moment. With his top speed, he ran towards one of the LV2 zombies. The zombie didn't even have the time to react as its head fell to the ground. Li JinHai felt like the LV2 zombie's bones had become softer as the blade cut through the monster's head. Actually, it was the opposite. It was JinHai's strength that increased after leveling up.
When the zombies finally noticed Li JinHai, he was already behind a LV1 zombie, and with another slash of his katana another head rolled on the ground. The other three zombies stood up and walked towards him roaring. However, his speed far outstripped that of the zombies and with a swift movement, he got away from the zombies' attack range.
Only two LV1 zombies and one LV2 zombie remained. As the three monsters got up to redirect their attention at Li JinHai, the middle-aged man could finally sigh in relief although his condition was worsening each passing moment.
The three zombies walked slowly towards Li JinHai to attack him. The LV2 zombie was slightly faster than the other two. When it neared him, it stretched its arms to catch him. However, Li JinHai was way faster than the zombie and managed to cut the two deteriorated arms before they could reach him. The LV2 zombie didn't feel any pain and as nothing happened he tried to bite on him but this time it was not as lucky as the moment before.
SLASH
Its head fell on the ground together with its lifeless body. Some Silver Coins were dropped, and Li JinHai immediately collected them.
+ 4 Silver Coins. Current balance 14 Silver Coins
"Finally, something dropped!" Exclaimed Li JinHai in his mind with an excited expression. By now he killed almost ten zombies and nothing had dropped yet and to be honest any player would be excited when getting their very first drop.
After he collected the Silver Coins, JinHai did not stop his attack and rushed towards one of the LV1 zombies. The Recruit Katana slashed again. A bloody cut slashed the LV1 zombie into two. The zombie's legs fell lifelessly on the ground while the superior part was lively as ever. Even without legs, the bloody zombie's upper body tried its hardest to catch Li JinHai but all it got was its head cut into two halves. It was at this moment that the last zombie attacked him, attempting to scratch JinHai with its infected claws however, the agile boy managed to dodge by diving on the ground.
Li JinHai's face paled, only a scratch and you were dead, even the weakest of the zombies can pose a huge threat to him. After the missed attack the zombie tried again but this time the claws were fully dodged by Li JinHai who slashed at the zombie head that fell on the ground. Yet another golden globe entered his body.
"Congratulations! You are now level 3, please allocate the Evolve Points."
Yet once again the burning sensation in his right golden eyes arose.
"Attention, ancient bloodline detected. Some Evolve points will be automatically given based on the bloodline characteristics. +2 Willpower. +1 to all Primary Attributes."
"Strength and Endurance." Said Li JinHai.
"Congratulations! You are the first player in Magic World that saved another Player. You are rewarded with +1 Luck and +1 Willpower."
"Eh!? I got two Evolve Points just like that?" Exclaimed JinHai then he opened the character menu.

"Only five Endurance left!?" Said Li JinHai. "It seems that I need to put one Evolve Point in Endurance at least until level 10." Endurance was essential in battle. As he was now, he could fight only 3 more zombies at most before being completely exhausted.
"Th-Thanks!" Li JinHai heard a feeble voice and turned his head towards the man. His wounds were terrible! Even in the previous world, with modern medicines and advanced medical technologies, such wounds would be fatal.
"So-Sorry. I hesitated and you are in such a sorry state. It's all my fault!" Tears started coming down from Li JinHai's eyes. He was just 16 and this was the first time seeing a person dying in front of him.
"It's not your fault boy, since I was bitten by the zombie in the Tutorial my fate had been already decided." Sighed the man. Extreme sadness and grief could be seen in his blue eyes which looked more dead than alive.
With all his remaining strengths the man took out a photograph depicting a beautiful high school girl with black hair and blue eyes from his jacket and gave it to Li JinHai.
"I know I'm asking a lot but please, this is my daughter, if you ever encounter her COUGH COUGH… may you tell her ….that I love her and that I'm sor…" The man could not even finish what he was saying before he emitted his last breath.
"Sir, what's her name?" Asked Li JinHai. However, there were no replies anymore. He looked at the man, his eyes were already closed and his soul already departed from this world.
JinHai stood up and turned back but suddenly he heard a feeble roar. He turned again towards the man. His eyes were now completely open but they were not human's eyes, they were the lifeless eyes of a zombie.
"The transformation is soo quick. Not even ten seconds have passed since the old man died." Despite knowing that this would have happened, Li JinHai shivered thinking about the inevitable fate of all those people wounded or bitten by zombies. Even though countless gruesome blood-leaking wounds could be seen on the zombie's corpse, the bloody creature started to walk towards him emitting low-pitched roars.
Strange feelings arose in Li JinHai's heart. Sure, by now he killed more than ten zombies but the one he was facing right now was different. He once was a living person!
Li JinHai stood there with the Recruit Katana in his hands knowing exactly what had to be done. After a short prayer, the high-school boy acted.
"I'm sorry sir." Said Kang than he quickly got behind the zombie and cut his head. A golden globe entered his body.
"Eh?" The boy's facial expression turned from that of grief to surprise as he saw that a sword from the zombie's corpse together with some Silver Coins. He used 'Observation'.
