Everything Goes To Shit

Sora constantly tapped his foot on the grass. He couldn't concentrate. The young Lockhart was still in Rhode Island, relaxing at a scenic lake. Alice had taken off her shoes and ran into the cool waters. There was a platform underneath the middle which allowed one to walk on the surface.

The beautiful doll ran after the swans and geese while giggling all the while. Their wings flapped and they took to the air, landing on the deeper side of the lake. She couldn't help but frown.

"Awww." She pouted.

A few seconds later, she noticed another flock of birds floating on the water. The smile returned as if it never left. Alice chased after her new targets. Seeing such a beauty play in the water was definitely fun, but Sora wasn't enjoying it. He couldn't relax.

'This damn feeling.' He thought.

He could feel Raven's general direction without even using his light sense. Sometimes she would get closer and sometimes she would go further away. Sora had already met the most important members of the Teen Titans in one day. Granted, one of them was unconscious at the time.

The young Lockhart had also met two members of Young Justice. It didn't really feel like that was as important. Sora was beginning to believe that these encounters were happening for a reason. A reason he couldn't understand.

Sora grew stronger everyday. Soaking in the light of the cosmos, he constantly evolved by the minute. It was a therapeutic feeling. But even then, this new connection with Raven bypassed all of it.

A sigh of annoyance escaped his lips. Not being able to control this yin yang pact irritated him. Either way, he'd figure it out sooner or later. There should be some time before the next meeting.

Sora and Alice were still in Rhode Island due to business. Apparently, Lucas Carr wanted to try a new business venture for the school. This led to the duo convening with him multiple times.

As of now, the hotel was their current base of operations. Only once their venture was complete would they return to Gotham. A few hours went by and the sun was touching the horizon. The hollow eyed beauty was quick to fall asleep once they returned to their suite.

"I feel so weird…" He muttered.

The sleepy man sat in the living room while holding a bottle of red wine. He lazed against his chair while gazing at the ceiling. As he drowned himself in alcohol, his phone buzzed on the table.

'Sora…'

He ignored the buzz and took another swig of wine. His phone buzzed again. After releasing another sigh, he checked the notifications.

'Help…' It read.

The young Lockhart sat up in his chair. It was Starfire. He quickly typed on the screen.

'Is it directions again? Where are you?' He replied.

Almost fifteen minutes passed as he waited for a response. Rubbing away the sleepiness, he put on his shoes just in case. His phone finally buzzed.

'It's cold…I can't feel the pain anymore.' It read.

His eyes widened in alarm. The lazy man put on his coat and flashed into the night sky. He was in New York in only a second. Using his light sense, he realized that the city was in tatters.

Buildings were destroyed. Civilians were running away in fear. Explosions could be heard in the distance. He quickly found Starfire in a broken building.

The tamaranean beauty was slumped against the wall, blood pooling beneath her. In one hand was her phone…while the other held her side. There was a hole in her waist. If she moved her hand, her innards would spill out. That wasn't all. She was bruised and battered. Her right leg was broken as well.

Sora kneeled in front of her. He caressed her cheek, causing her to stir. Starfire slowly opened her eyes. She gave a weak smile upon seeing him. Blood dripped from her lips.

"How bad does it look?" She joked quietly.

Her voice was weak. She was shivering as the heat left her body. As the heat left her soul.

"What the hell is this? How the fuck did you end up like this?!" He wasn't really asking her but venting out loud. Starfire gave a bright smile, showing her teeth.

"It…It…It Kahk…we just-" She could barely form words while choking on blood.

"Why did you call me? How do you expect me to help you?! I'm just a normal person!" He lied. The dying girl huffed as if his question was stupid.

"Besides my comrades…I only have your number. When we first met…pfttt…I had the feeling…that you were reliable. Was I…Was I wrong?" She finally said. Sora couldn't help but look down.

She was a good person. A fun one…but was it smart to reveal his powers? He wasn't even in his disguise. This damn girl.

He cupped her chin, forcing her to look at him. Starfire gave him the 'I knew it all along' smile. He glared at her.

"You are lucky that I like you." He growled before placing his hand above hers.

"Heh. I may be an airhead…but I am not dumb!" She exclaimed.

"Move your hand on three. We're going to switch hands. One. Two. Three."

"Ahhhh!" She cried after moving her hand.

Sora quickly covered the hole with his own hand, catching her organs before they fell out. Light soon covered his palm and threads went through the edges of her skin. In only a second, the hole was sewn shut. It happened so fast that the pain only registered a few seconds later.

"Nnnnnnnnnnhaha!" Her cries ended with a painful chuckle. She was a trooper.

Sora raised his other hand to her mouth. The bridge between his thumb and index finger was directly over her lips. Starfire was too busy huffing to even notice.

"This is the most painful part. You can bite my hand if you want. I'm going to burn it shut. My threads will disappear once I stop using my powers, so this is the only way." He revealed.

Both of her hands held onto his wrist. Only then did she softly bite down. Sora knew that her bite would get stronger once he started.

"...I'm ready." She croaked. With all the blood she lost, it was a miracle she hadn't passed out already.

The young Lockhart focused on her wound. His shining hand grew brighter, and the temperature started to increase. The wound and his palm made contact. A sizzling sound could immediately be heard. Starfire bit down hard enough to rip out a normal person's skin.

"AAAAHHHHHHHH!" Even while biting down, shrill screams resonated from her throat.

By the time he was done, she was already unconscious. The most critical injury had been healed. Brutally. A burning hand mark could be seen where the hole used to be.

With Starfire's blood on his clothes, he pulled on the divinity of null. His hair turned black along with his irises. The pupils turned an eerie blue. Without a word, the mask expanded across his mouth. His light also turned black.

Sora appeared in midair. He was right beside the battlefield. Only now did he get a clear look at what was happening.

An extremely skinny bald man sat on a fence. Two plushies were hanging from his belt. One of them was Cyborg and the other was Beast Boy. They seemed entirely real! Robin was nowhere to be seen, probably still in a healing pod.

It had only been a few days since the Teen Titans' recent failure. They needed to recover. Unfortunately, the villains wanted to capitalize on this weakness. It wasn't just the bald man.

Another figure could be seen battling Raven. He wore a black shirt with the red symbol of hope on it. It was Conner Kent. Superboy. The glaring problem was that his skin was gray and withered. He was undead.

'In the few days since I met this Superboy, he was killed and turned into a zombie? And the Puppet Master turned Cyborg and Beast Boy into plushies.'

Superboy was probably the reason Starfire almost died. One good punch could rip someone apart. Raven wasn't fighting to win, she was fighting to live.

Sora made sure to scan the entire battlefield before he acted. Even though he was watching from afar, Raven turned and glanced at him. This alone revealed that the connection was mutual. Ignoring that, he turned to the skyscrapers beyond.

Two more figures were observing the battlefield from on high. It was Slade and a young blonde haired girl. As soon as he laid eyes on the girl, he understood.

'Terra. They used her to befriend the titans. Once she got chummy with them, she made her move.' He realized.

This lineup was extremely stacked. Superboy, Puppet Master, Slade, and Terra. All of this to kill the Teen Titans. Did Slade hate Robin that much? Or was this all so he could take Robin for himself?

All of the cards had been revealed. The players were on the table. It was time for the young Lockhart to make a move. And he did.
