53 Elimination

Slade and Terra stood on the roof of a skyscraper. As they looked down at Raven trying her best to survive the undead Superboy's onslaught, Terra frowned. She felt terrible. This was because of her.

"What have I done?" She muttered quietly.

"The right thing." Deathstroke responded.

"How is this the right thing?"

"Who said that heroes were just? You believe that they should lord over others?"

"No one should. I'm just saying that they are good people!" She responded.

"Sometimes good people have to die in order to bring forth a new era. You will look back on this one day and realize I was right." He continued.

This was nothing new. Slade had been manipulating her all her life. He made everything she did seem just and right. Made her feel as if she was doing good things. Taught her how to fight. She was only a young teen. Now she was a young killer.

"Superboy-"

"He isn't Superboy anymore. His name is Match."

Terra closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Once her emotions were in order, opened them again. It was time to move on from the Teen Titans. These heroes were as good as dead.

"So what's next?" She finally spoke.

"............"

There was no response. The young girl turned her head only to see the pillar in her life crumble to dust. Everything was in slow motion. Slade still had his arms crossed. As if a god had banished him from the planet, he turned into ashes and scattered with the wind.

"Slade! Slade?!"

Only then did she see the black haired man standing beside her. One of his hands was outstretched toward where Slade used to be. The mask covering his mouth and nose caused her heart to jump in fear.

Not wasting any time, she clenched her fist and squatted down. Her senses shot down into the earth holding up the building. Along with the shaking of her limbs, massive rocks were pulled out of the dirt. The skyscraper was also lifted into the air, the ground beneath being a platform.

Darkstar could only scoff at the notion. Did she think he would wait until the rocks finally made it to their height? Her Geokinesis was only powerful on the ground.

"How did it feel sentencing the titans to death? Was it good?" He spoke eerily.

The sleepy man was already behind her. His arms wrapped around her arms and torso for a bear hug. She could no longer move. It was a powerful grip, one that lifted her into the air. Her feet kicked at his shins.

"It didn't feel good at all! But I had to! I had no choice!" She screamed while trying to escape his hold. The rocks were still ascending to the roof.

"...You had to? That's a funny joke."

"A joke? This is about the good of the people! Why should they have to live in fear, knowing one mistake will have heroes sent after them like dogs!?" She continued.

"Is this what Slade told you? He brainwashed you pretty well, I see." He mocked.

Hearing his words, she grew angry. Brown light radiated from her body as she pulled on all forms of earth. They shot off like bullets, ready to smash them both.

Darkster teleported them higher up into the sky. An effortless evasion. The air had turned cold, and the clouds licked her skin. Her powers were moot up here.

"Slade never stopped fighting for the cause! What would you know? You killed him!"

The powerful man moved his face toward her ear. Seeing their proximity, she headbutted him over and over. Her skull only smashed against his metallic mask. She was hurting herself.

"Tell me…how many times did that old man rape you? Was that justice too? The way you cried for him when he died…you love him, don't you?" He spoke sick words into her ear.

"Shut up! Aaaahhhhh!" She screamed while trying to break free. A chuckle escaped his lips.

"...Of course. I'm not one to talk. We're both participating in sick relationships. Since you love him, I will let you be with him."

"No! I want to live…please!" She begged.

"Even after your betrayal, I'm sure the Teen Titans would still forgive you. Unfortunately…I'm not a Teen Titan."

His comment was the end of her days. The light of the moon washed over her, the rays turning her to dust. It was painless. She could reunite with Slade in the afterlife.

With her death, the skyscraper came crashing down. The massive rocks also dropped to the ground. The earth trembled from the force.

'Two down, two to go.' He thought.

In an instant, he was gone. Only the chime of a bell signified his disappearance.

DING

Raven flew to her right, evading yet another blow that could've meant her death. Undead Superboy, now called Match, smashed a fist where she had previously been. The side of a building was blown out, causing the roof to collapse.

"RAAAAGH. Match save world!" He screamed.

This was a cat and mouse battle. Hunter and prey. The somber beauty flew away as fast as she could, throwing anything she could with her abilities. Match dashed after her, crashing through the hurtling debris.

A dust cloud was created, hiding the powerful zombie from view. Raven didn't stop for a minute. She needed to get as much space as she could. Unfortunately, Match was fast.

By the time she realized that Conner had left the dust cloud, she saw a fist slamming down toward her face. A barrier of darkness protected her body on instinct. The blow connected.

BOOM

The force of the blow sent her through another building. She slammed against the wall, coughing out blood. Her energy shield was breaking apart like glass. Luckily, it had taken the brunt of the attack.

"Shit. Shit!" She gasped.

The last Teen Titan was out of breath. As she huffed and puffed, she glanced in Sora's direction. She could feel him moving across the battlefield. If her guess was correct, she just needed to survive for a bit longer. She could do this!

Two red lights could be seen from the hole she'd been sent through. Realizing what it was, she rolled to the side. Two powerful lasers drilled into the area she used to be. The optic blast didn't stop, moving in her direction.

Raven broke out into a sprint, her flight kicking in to leave the crumbling building. Her eyes glowed with power. The words came to her lips.

"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"

A huge maw manifested before the undead kryptonian, clamping down for a bite. The red beams disappeared just in time for her to get away. Walls, glass, concrete, and wood came crashing down behind her.

She knew this would only buy her a few more seconds. Quickly making her way between two broken buildings, she did what she knew best. Staying in the shadows. Her heart was racing. It wasn't something she could control. She wasn't a ninja.

"Where ya goin?" A gritty voice sounded from the wall behind her.

BAM

Match burst through the wall, his arms wrapping around her. It was all one smooth motion when he slammed her into the ground. The air left her lungs as she hit the pavement. Her energy shield appeared again, but the undead man sat on top of her and the force field.

His hand shattered the weak barrier, his free hand clutching her entire jaw. Conner's tongue stuck out of his mouth as he got ready to deal the killing blow. His eyes lit up with red energy. His fist raised high into the air.

"MMMMMM!!"

Raven kicked and screamed trying to get him off. She could smell his rotting skin and taste the death covering her mouth. Fury erupted within her like a volcano.

"MMMMAAAHHHHHHGH!! GET OFF!" She roared.

"Screeeech!"

A humongous raven of pure darkness manifested around her. The surroundings went dark, blotting out the moon. Even then, she couldn't escape. Match brought his fist down. Time slowed to a crawl. Right before it connected, a knee smashed into Conner's chin.

BOOM

Match's body shot into the clouds, his jaw barely connected to his face. Raven looked up to see the yang to her yin. The two locked eyes for only a second before he vanished. She couldn't help but sigh in relief.

"Finally…" She muttered.

Sora appeared above the kryptonian while upside down, the momentum of his backflip leading to a powerful kick. Conner barely had half a second to catch a glimpse of his attacker. He only saw an icy blue, then darkness.

DING

Just the shockwave was enough to blow away the clouds. It was good that it detonated far away. Still, it did reach the ground. Raven put up another barrier right before it hit her. It pushed her back, sending her down the street.

Parts of the broken buildings were cleanly blown off. She couldn't see where Conner Kent's body went…but who cares. The corpse could be found later. Or what's left of it. He was even deader than undead.
