"Hey, Brian called. It seems Carter's trying to get away on his boat and the whole airstrip thing was just to weed out the traitors." Suki said hanging up her phone, "Brian said he's going to stop him but we need to get there quick if we want to see this mission to completion."
Bruce nodded, "Head down and I'll follow you right after."
Suki nodded knowing what Bruce was about to do, as she didn't question anything further.
"Will you be okay?" Bruce asked John who was already waking up though he still looked a bit dizzy after getting a shot of the antidote he got from Perkins pocket.
"These new technologies... it's quite something." John shook his head with a sigh, "How did you resist the effect of the poison?"
"I don't blame you, I was cut off guard too." Bruce said while playing around with Perkins' dart gun which was quite unusual, "Luckily for me, all those poison resistance training came in handy. So I could at least move."
The whole poison resistance training was in fact a real thing, even though he never practiced it. But some assassins who were true to the name would use poison a lot and they had a whole resistance training based on it.
So it wasn't something to be suspicious about, at most it could be just brushed off as a trump card in emergencies such as this. So he was more focused on the gun in his hand.
The gun had a small screen followed by some things he wasn't familiar with. But it was impressive, to say the least. It locked on to a target and tried to follow through with it to the best of its ability. He wasn't a genius nor was he into technologies but a part of him knew he had to change that mentality as the world was changing.
Next time, it might not be a dart but a bullet and the target could be his head.
Bruce looked over at Perkins who was staring at him, as she slowly bled out on the floor. He walked over to her and shook his head, "You know, if you could've been honest, I would have actually thought about us being together. But that's just wishful thinking on my part."
"I was trying to run away from the darkness and you were part of the darkness that was trying to pull me back in, so it would've never worked out anyway. But for what it is worth, I don't like how we are leaving things."
"Shut up and kill me, will you." Perkins said spitting blood as she glared at him, "That bitch might actually be good for you. At least, I know I would never come back for you. But, how long will it take for her to end up in the same place as I am, Bruce?"
"We kill, look at Wick over there... he left too, and look at where he is today. Covered with blood splatter and on top of a pile of dead bodies. And you will be there soon too. This darkness you talk about, you will soon realize that it was always within you-"
"Spoiler alert!" Bruce said shooting her in the head, as she died with still the same bitter look on her face.
"You should leave too... the feds attention is diverted towards following Carter right now but when they are done, they will be coming straight to this place." Bruce said, "Can we call up the cleaning service here?"
Bruce thought about the old creepy Charlie, who was always handy to call, for cleaning up crime scenes.
John shook his head, "You should leave now, I'll burn this place down before I go."
"Sure." Bruce said with no complaints over that decision, "So hopefully I'll never see you again then Mr. Wick."
John let out a slight chuckle as they shook hands, "You shouldn't be jinxing yourself."
"Oh! the superstitions, forgot about that." Bruce shook his head, "So I assume you'll go back to New York again?"
"I have to finish what I started," John said as they both parted ways.
There wasn't much to say after all the deal was complete, both of them got what they wanted. And it was better to end things on a good note than to push things further in a forceful way. For it was worth, Bruce believed they could've been a good team if they were both still in the business but they were both past the point.
John felt the same way too, their co-operation was better than he had expected it to be. A friendship wasn't something he could afford currently, but he was happy that the boy in front of him could get out.
Though he doubted the people who were helping him do so, but he couldn't judge after all, he did do something more insane to get out from this circle.
He wondered what would've happened if he could've seen the bigger picture when he was young too but he shook his head realizing things weren't going to be any different.
As Perkins said, they were killers and that shit hardly washes away.

Brian and Roman were done talking to the officer, who had just confirmed Brian his job back and Roman his immunity. Carter was caught and they were done.
"How come that Bruce guy didn't show up?" Roman whispered,
"I don't know." Brian shook his head, "Things might have gone little south ways, Suki sounded tensed when I called her."
"But shit we did it, man!" Roman looked at Carter who was getting patched up with the cops surrounding him, "Don't drop the soap, big homey!"
Carter just glared at him with a menacing smile.
"I hope you know when he gets out he's going to kill your ass." Brian laughed as Roman looked at him with his lip's twitching,
"For real?"
As they were joking around the feds and the U.S customs agents began surrounding Carter who suddenly fell down.
"Emergency!"
"Secure the perimeter! It's a sniper!"
Brian and Roman looked at the dead Carter who had a perfect bullet hole in the middle of his forehead and back at each other, as their mouth remained wide open.
"Well, that's one problem out of the way, I guess!" Roman shook his head, swearing on his life to never mess with Bruce ever, hell he wouldn't even try and be near that guy again.
