Conclusion pt.1

"We could've done this together. You and me, Bruce." Perkins said, "Cipher still wants me in her plans, and together with you, I know we can do anything. So I was more than happy as long as you got the job, it was all fine. You get your freedom, I get my money, and the most important part of it all, you and I would be together."

"But you come here and found that bitch with skirts on..." Perkins came close grabbing his chin harshly, "Is that what you like Bruce? Short skirts? Cutesy little things?"

Bruce who was having fun till now couldn't help but be a little startled, 'What the fuck is she on about?'

Bruce thought back to their interaction throughout his months in continental, but other than some casual flirting here and there alongside them sleeping together, and some casual sexual tension, he couldn't think of any moment which indicated the woman was in love with him.

Besides his knowledge of the guild function that came with a trust detector, he could say for certain that whatever feelings she had for him wasn't love.

"Those confused eyes, you think I wouldn't know." Perkins snapped more at him, "Does that bitch know what kind of man you are? I have seen the monster in you. I was right beside you when you showed your true colors."

"From that moment I knew that you were like me. Monsters like you and me belong together. You were mine!"

'Oh! so it's more of a twisted, you're my toy thing. I was worried that she was in love with me for a second. I guess I could always count on her to be a crazy bitch.' Bruce thought to himself as he wondered if this obsession was the result of his charmer skill or with Perkins having a few screws loose.

But he concluded that it was very likely it was both. The charmer skill was certainly useful after all, he could James Bond his way out of things. Women, explosions, and guns, what more could you ask for. But things like this could get a little nasty if left unchecked.

"I always wondered why John left the continental when he was near to the very top on the food chain. Turns out wanting something bad, can really change someone." Perkins said, "Now, here is how we are going to do this."

"First, I'll get that hard drive for you, then I'll go hunt that bitch down and torture her to death in front of you. I'll have you watch as I break her. Then, I'll put a bullet through your head, when I am done with all that. I will get my job back with Cipher and you will get the freedom you so desperately want."

"Is that anger I see?" Perkins smirked at him, "Oh do you love her, dear? Well, that's okay because if you can't be mine then I'll take everything from you. Maybe if you beg me and kiss my feet, I'll make her death easy."

Bruce who finally had enough with her rants was about to go for the kill when suddenly he heard a loud bang. The familiar smell of gun powder filled the air, as Perkins dropped to her knees in front of him.

Bruce looked over at Suki who was holding a gun with her hands shaking, as she stood by the door. A man who he guessed was the transporter was behind her, looking around at the mess they've created.

Bruce who was lost for a second quickly gained his senses back, as he hurriedly took Perkin's gun, and checked her body thoroughly taking out two pistols and a knife she had hidden within her. Getting all of the stuff, he went over to Suki who was shaking, as he held her close.

"Bruce... you?" Suki barely spoke as she trembled in his arms, "I thought..."

"Don't worry." Bruce said as he looked over at the groaning Perkins, "You didn't do anything. She's still alive as it seems you've missed her vitals. And you did it protect me, so don't think about this."

At this moment, Bruce wished he could pass over his passive skills to her but apparently, the function only existed for his active skills.

He didn't know how to exactly console her, after all, he never had to suffer the guilt of taking another person's life with his skill but she was normal. And not to mention the scene she must've seen through the hallway and the whole mansion in general.

But he knew Suki was strong enough to get through it. After all, she knew what he was going to do here, and yet she came through her own volition to protect him. Not that he needed it, but it was the thought that mattered and in this case, the action did.

Suki after a while nodded, looking over at Perkins then back at him, "I saw through the window... you fell and she was holding a gun, so I came rushing over."

"Thank you for that." Bruce stroked her hair, "I need to handle a bit of stuff, and we will leave okay."

Suki nodded as he instructed her to, pull John out of the bed and remove the dart from his body, which she followed after.

Bruce turned to look over at the man, who was staring at him after he was done observing the place, "I guess, you're not one of them."

"I guess." He replied in a calm manner as if he was used to the scene.

Bruce nodded, as he looked over at the package in the man's hand, "How much will the delivery be then?"

The man looked at him for a while and threw the package towards him, "I was already paid."

"Thanks." Bruce looked at the package, the small little thing that caused all of this havoc, "So what you just do deliveries?"

"Mostly." The man replied ready to leave.

Bruce had no plans to stop him either since he wasn't part of Carter's gang nor was he an assassin hired by the continental. The man was clearly from the military with the way he carried himself, but being in this line of work, there had to be a story about him.

He was just not interested in hearing it, and the other party didn't seem to have any intention of saying much either, so they both didn't say anything else and headed their own way.
