Chapter 1Sam

He asked, and Mr. Ferguson instantly darted his eyes around before clearing his throat. "Why... do you ask about her?" With a bit of what seemed like suspicion in his eyes, he inquired and William arched his brow at him.

"What exactly do you mean?" He pried with confusion evident on his face, and Mr. Ferguson relaxed back on the sofa, then crossed his legs.

"I meant nothing. I am just surprised you asked about her." He clarified, and Williams furrowed his brows on understanding what he meant by asking such a question.

"You didn't really think I asked because I care or something?" He raised his brows in skepticism, and Mr. Ferguson shrugged with a slight smile on his face.

"I don't know. It wouldn't be a surprise to me if you had changed, because, as you know, a new environment changes people. You have been in New York for a while now, so…" He replied, and Williams found himself almost breaking into laughter.

"Father, you do know that that could never happen. I mean, when have I ever cared about her? She's a disgrace to the family, coupled with her insaneness. I will be disgusted to have her around me." He shivered in irritation, and a proud smile emerged on Mr. Ferguson's face.

"That's what I thought. Anyways, she's currently not at home." Mr. Ferguson clarified, and a bit of a surprise emerged on his face.

"Not... at home? Since when did she begin to leave the house?" His eyes, filled with curiosity, gazed at Mr. Ferguson, and Mr. Ferguson shrugged with a less caring expression on his face.

"Well, she has been misbehaving quite a lot recently, being extremely disrespectful, destroying things and all, so I thought of teaching her a little bit of a lesson to calm her down." He explained with a grin on his face, and a bit of a frown appeared on William's face.

"What sort of lesson?" He asked, and Mr. Ferguson exhaled deeply.

"It's nothing much, just that I wanted to turn her into a whole new person. A good, disciplined, and well-behaved woman, but unfortunately, she escaped. So now we are trying to find her." He sighed as though a disappointed father, and William stared at him, unable to utter a single word.

His eyes flickered rapidly, and he abruptly stood up from the sofa to exit the living room. "Please give me a minute. I will be back." He smiled awkwardly and hurried out of the living room.

He made his way towards his room, and the moment he stepped in, he promptly shut the door and locked it, then took a long deep breath.

"Fuck!" He cursed and walked into the bathroom, towards the sink, then scooped up a handful of water and splashed it on his face.

No matter how hard he tries, he is constantly intimidated by someone he refers to as Father.

He had sworn not to ever get intimidated by Mr. Ferguson when he returned, but here he was trembling in a fear that he had forgotten what it felt like.

He knew how dangerous Mr. Ferguson was.

He was a man above all, feared by the public and never to be stepped on.

He was a man who had no human sympathy and wouldn't bat an eye when he put a bullet through the heads of the ones who dared oppose him.

A subtle breath exited his nose and he gazed intently at his reflection in the mirror.

If Mr. Ferguson ever finds out about his real plan concerning his return, he doubts that he will be spared and left to see another day.

He furiously shook his head to push the thoughts away and hurried out of the room to return to the living room.

He allowed a full smile to ensue on his face and walked to the sofa, then sat down.

"What took you so long?" Mr. Ferguson arched his brow at him and he blinked his eyes.

"Oh...I had a runny stomach, so that's why I left. It's probably as a result of what I ate earlier today amidst my travels. But don't worry.I am fine now." He replied with a smile still visible on his face, and Mr. Ferguson slowly nodded his head at him.

"I see."

________

Diana groaned deeply in a bit of pain and clutched her aching head.

She slowly sat up on the sofa where she was lying and blinked her eyes open.

She glanced around her surroundings and, surprised to be in Lisa's apartment, her face turned into a bit of a frown.

"Lisa..." She called, and Lisa, who was making soup for her in the kitchen, quickly rushed towards her with a face full of smiles.

"Oh gosh, you're finally awake?" Lisa groaned and utterly confused about everything, Diana raised her brow at her.

"What... do you mean? And why am I in your apartment?" She inquired in a completely clueless tone, and Lisa drew her head back with a bit of a grimace on her face.

"It seems like those people really did something to you. Or is it because you just awoke from your little slumber?" Lisa narrowed her eyes and she glared at her.

"Lisa, don't play with me, I am being serious right now. What happened and how did I get here?" She gazed at her with seriousness on her face, and finally realizing that she wasn't joking, Lisa's eyes flickered rapidly.

"Oh shit! You really don't remember anything?"

"Yes, I don't! That's why I am asking you." She scowled in panic, and Lisa smiled awkwardly at her.

"Calm down. I have no idea what happened either. All I know is that you arrived at my door all of a sudden last night and knocked frantically. I opened the door for you, and without explaining anything to me, you asked me to hide you from your father, who was after you. I helped you hide in the basement of my kitchen, and after they were gone, you came out. I proceeded to ask you what happened, but you ehhh... fainted. That's it." She clarified, and Diana stared at her with her jaw fallen in disbelief.

"I don't... remember any of that. And even if that was true, there was absolutely no way that my father wouldn't find me here. Even inside that basement of yours." She shook her head, and Lisa shrugged.

"But it happened. How can you tell me it's not possible? Are you trying to say that I am lying?" Lisa raised her brows in a bit of displeasure and she quickly shook her head at her.

"No no, that's not what I meant, just that it's very weird. This is not the first time I have been in this kind of situation, and when I wake up, I end up remembering nothing." She explained, and Lisa slowly nodded her head at her.

"Oh, I see...what do you remember then?" She asked, and Diana stood up from the sofa, then paced back and forth for a few moments before halting.

"I was in a hospital, no... he took me to a hospital and ordered this doctor to inject some kind of drug into my body. So in the process, something that I don't know occurred within my body and I suddenly felt energetic to the extent that I broke the strap they tied me up with and threw the doctor away."

"I also remember exiting the hospital, but unfortunately, my father's men were outside the hospital and they had aimed their guns at me, wanting to shoot me dead if I made a move. I was kind of just staring at them and the next thing I knew, I blacked out. That's all I remember."

She explained, and Lisa, who found the whole explanation unbelievable, looked at her with her jaw dropped. "You need more sleep. Maybe you will remember it properly when you wake up."

She smiled at her and Diana, who was instantly displeased, frowned her face and proceeded to berate her, but she however halted, when Lisa's phone suddenly rang.

They both glimpsed the phone on the couch at the same time, and Lisa picked it up.

She looked at the screen, and her brows puckered on seeing a familiar name.

"Sam." The name slipped out of her mouth, and Diana drew her head back, in complete surprise.

This book will be focusing on plot, action, depths of character bonds and overall a darker tone/take on this cruel fantasy world I've cooked up for this book! If you give this book a try, I hope you enjoy! A very different experience and tone to Nanomancer Reborn.

What to expect? Death, gore, thick sexual tension, and explicit scenes. Also, it is not reverse harem. Gift magic castle = 5 bonus chapters! Come, let us have a wild hunt!
