Chapter 71- ow! Not my face!

Fredrick stood before the silent king, waiting for his next course of action concerning Avery Graves's bounty.

The chair creaked back as Alaric leaned against it. 'Now, of all times, when he wanted to do a blood test, the child seems to be hunted down.' He thought, feeling frustrated at the unfolding problems.

''Find what's going on in the underworld and make sure you find her before they do,'' Alaric commanded in a cold tone. He needed to know what had been happening recently; he felt someone was pulling strings in the dark with the newfound drugs introduced to his country.

''Yes, Your Majesty. I'll take my leave.'' Fredrick bowed and turned to leave as Alaric waved his hands in approval. He was closer to the door when the king's next words echoed through the room.

''Don't tell the queen of your findings,'' Alaric warned.

''Yes, your majesty,'' Fredrick answered solemnly, before walking out the door.
