Enemies

As soon as I heard the news, I quickly moved.

"Kirth, bring the Craw Squad, Poch Squad, and Iman Squad with us. We need to help the elves. Also, place Exel in charge of security here and tell Laur he is in charge of the village. while we are away."

"I got it Wreck."

"Bubba bring one of your subordinates with us for scouting."

"Yes Sir!"

Everyone that was summoned now has arrived in the outer gate. I then started my speech.

"I know why all of you are confused right now, but something important just happened. The Eleven Town of Norman has been attacked, and as allies, we must aid them. Now that you know the matter, let us all set off!"

"Yes sir!"

I jumped at the back of King. He is my main mode of transportation. He is also strong. The others will be riding the tamed Crimson elks. They are our substitutes for horses and they have been great.

We are now moving towards the Norman Town through the newly constructed road. This road is really convenient since the former 1-2 hours' worth of travel has been shortened to 20-30 minutes. I just realized that the elves must be worried about their former hometown. We better hurry up now.

We are now outside of the Crimson Woods but I noticed that the Norman Town seems fine.

"Bubba, are you sure that the Town was attacked?"

"I was sure about what I saw sir."

"Very well. Then let us proceed to the town."

We moved towards the town and we encountered Chief Well.

"Young Wreck! Why did you come here today?"

"I was told that your town was attacked by enemies. Are all things fine now?"

"Let me tell you the story in my office. Come with me."

"Kirth, Bubba follow me. Craw you are in charge while we are away."

"Yes Sir!"

We followed Chief Well towards his office. He offered us to sit but we refused.

"Anyways sir what really happened? Where you really attacked?"

"Yes, yes. We were attacked earlier, but have handled the situation and moved the battle to the plains right across the town."

He is strangely calm about the situation.

"Why do you look like you are fine chief?"

"It is because wars normally occur in this area in the land."

"Wha-what?"

"As you may know young Wreck, there are two human kingdoms at the north and the south. They have militaries that are very powerful and they are also rich. The problem is there is no definite power here in the middle of those which is why towns and city-states in this area fight on wars to gain more power and land. This area of the land was dubbed by the humans as 'Mudland' because there are so many states that are doing mud fights. O

You can also add the fact the Crimson woods is at the center of this area so this land is all about trouble. But you do not need to worry about us since Bren and his troops can handle this situation."

That was a lot to swallow. So they fight to become rulers of the area? You can describe this as a smaller version of the warring states era of China.

"What is the name of the enemies that attacked you?"

"They are from Rhine Town. The race is ogres. They are big humanoids with strong physiques but most of them lack techniques and strategies."

So they are all about fighting.

"Why don't you just defeat them and be the one to take over?"

"Ever since the downfall of the Great Empire, our race has decided to never conquer any other races. Also if we ever attack their land, we are at a disadvantage since they outnumber us even though we are smarter than them. All we just have to do is to defend and maintain our peace."

"Does diplomacy not work to them?"

"We have tried to peace out with the ogres but they never accept."

These are troublesome enemies. I better think of a plan to solve this problem.

"Anyways you can go home now Young Wreck. My men can handle this."

"Okay. Just send us an SOS and we will make sure to come."

We all then left. While we are on the road, I have been thinking of solutions for the problem of this area, not just the ogres. I first need to find out how many independent towns are here in the Mudlands.

"Bubba, how many independent towns did your teams discover in your scouting?"

"So far sir my team found Three other towns that are inhabited, aside from the Norman Town."

"Do you know where are they located?"

"One is located on the northeastern side. One is in the north, and one is on the northwestern side."

Chief Well told me that the Ogre's land is right across them so I would assume that the land on the northwestern side is the Ogre's town. I asked Bubba to confirm it to me.

"We are still not sure about that sir, but based on our new discoveries, that would be highly likely sir."

We have arrived at the Crimson Village late in the afternoon. I told the men that went with me to rest now. I went to my house with still a lot in my mind. Laur approached me looking worried.

"How was your day, my dear?"

"It was fine..."

"You seem to have a lot in your mind. What is it?'

"I am thinking of a solution to maintain peace in our lands."

"Okay. Then I will not disturb you tonight. Good Luck!"

She then left.

I know that Crimson Woods is basically protection for us since no one dares to come in here, but our village is progressing rapidly and we have made diplomatic relationships already. Soon everyone will eventually find out that this place is inhabitable and has a lot of resources. They will soon disturb the peace of our village so I need a solution for that. I thought of ideas from my past life. How did nations maintain peace? Just then suddenly....

"I got the IDEA!!!!!!!"
