Recruits

The elves now have settled in their new homes. They will be living in the north of the inner walls. I built about three huge houses for them to live in. I made it like a dormitory-style since most of them are young. Since all of them are now residents of the Crimson Village, we need to register all of them. I had them registered at the meeting hall to the Logistics team of Laur and the kids. (Author's Note: It is kinda tiring to name a lot of new characters so I figured to not name all of them)

The logistics team gathered all of their information. There are 28 male elves and 10 female elves, which makes 38 new residents. There were 8 elves who are below 12 years old. Most of them are teenagers or in their early twenties. Now my village has me, Laur, King, Grano's Family, 29 original residents plus 38 new ones which makes the population of the village 74.

The logistics team also told me that these elves seem like they are not great farmers. They recommended to me that they will be suitable for hard labor, so I suggested to them that all of those above the age of twelve should join the Crimson Guards aka the military. Those younger elves must attend the Crimson Academy. They all seem a little discouraged because of me defeating them so I challenged them.

"All of you are still young. I see a lot of potentials. Since all of you don't like farming, you should train more. I believe that one day you can surpass me. Don't worry about food and water here. You will never starve as long as you will do your part here in the city. So I just need you all to cooperate with us and trust me as the leader."

They all then got pumped up. My speech worked. So the next day 30 elves, 26 males and 4 females have officially enlisted in the Crimson Guards. Before the elves, The Crimson Guards was just made up of me, Kirth, and nine others. Now that we got so many really quickly, I rearranged our power structure.

I will always be at the top as the Commander in Chief. Kirth will be the Chief of Staff and the Head of Security. He is basically the Great General of the Crimson Guards. Next are the Captains. They are Salamanders Craw and Poch, And the Beastmen Exel, Indro, and Iman.

All of the captains have 6 newly recruited elves in their team. The names of each squad will be named after their captains. The captains will also handle the training and also the safety of each of his subordinates. I made these squads in order to make the chain of command easier and also to make the guarding duty shifts easier. Bubba will be the captain of a separate special Scouting Squad. They will not be doing the main duties of guarding and hunting. They will just focus on scouting.

Now that we have established the hierarchy of the guards, the training has begun. As I have expected, the elves are still no match to their captains, but I believe that they can grow as long as they maintain the right attitude and work hard. I also had the guards help the ongoing construction if our walls sometimes. Grano thanked me but he said that his boys can handle it. Sheesh, Grano really has a huge pride.

Now if you are thinking about what will happen to the kids attending after they get old. Since we are still a small village and lacks manpower, I just teach them all the necessary things to be learned. I have already proposed to Laur the idea of having separate classes for separate professions but I believe it is only right to implement that idea if the number of students will increase. I am planning to have the children at school to choose their preferred job at the age of 13. If they want to become a soldier then so be it. If they want to join the logistics group then they can. If someone is interested in medicine then I will surely support than and build a hospital. Some kids will be turning 13 next year so we will find out their desires next year.

Now that we have mentioned medicine, I also proposed to the Council in our monthly meeting about building a hospital or a small clinic first. So I asked Laur about healing in this world. I asked her if healing potions or healing magic exists. She told me that she never heard about a healing potion so I guess that is not a thing in this world but she heard rumors about someone who has healing magic. But the one fact is that medicinal study exists in this world and Laur's aunt is an expert herbalist and doctor. I told her that invite her aunt here and have her teach the children that are interested in medicine. She told me that she will the next time she visits the Fairy Realm. Anyways the council agreed to judge postpone the judgment of the creation of the hospital after Laur's aunt visit our village.

After the meeting, I have noticed that the elves do not have any representatives here in the council. Well since they are still new it is still fine but they are the group that has the largest population so I better pick a leader as soon as possible.

One month has passed since the settlement of the elves and the stone walls are 50% complete already. Grano really is proud of his job. The elves have been improving drastically, especially Craig. He uses his large physique wisely and he is slowly improving his techniques. I believe he is the biggest riser. He also has great leadership. I may have to promote him to the captain as soon as our guards get new soldiers. All the elves seem to respect him so he is the prime candidate to become a member of the council.

I am currently strolling around the stone walls that are still on construction when suddenly Bubba and his squad landed in front of me. They all seem to have urgent news.

"Pardon for my attitude sir, but I and my squad got very important news!"

"It is fine. What is it"

"The Norman Town is under attacked by enemies!"
